A hotel worker has only missed one prediction in the 17 Mega jackpot games that currently stands at Ksh 147,489,366.

Peter Byegon from Uthiru, Nairobi was one prediction away from winning a whopping Ksh 147 million SportPesa Mega jackpot.

The hotel worker correctly predicted the outcome of 16 matches to win a bonus of Ksh 36,089,533 million.

“I am very happy given that I have won this cash during Christmas season. I have no major elaborate plans yet but one thing I will do immediately is to shop a bit for Christmas,” said an ecstatic Byegon.

Byegon who is a married with one child, was introduced to SportPesa betting by his brother. Prior to his win, he had tried his luck with the mega jackpot three times.

It was during his fourth attempt in which he used Ksh 100 that Byegon correctly predicated 16 matches out of the possible 17; the closest anyone had ever come to winning the mega jackpot was 15 correct predictions.

“It is said that almost never comes but as you can witness today, with SportPesa almost does count and we are here to put smiles on yet another family whose member tried his best to reach close to clinching the Mega jackpot. We are delighted that Byegon’s engagement in his leisure activity has brought this happy moment for his family and will go a long way in uplifting their living standards” said SportPesa Chief Marketing Officer, Keter Shimonyo.

SportPesa’s Mega Jackpot which was launched in September started off with Ksh 100 million and is yet to be won. The amount will keep increasing each week until someone wins by correctly predicting the outcome of 17 games.

The company also runs the midweek jackpot games which start at Ksh 10 million, the amount keeps rising until it is won by correct predictions for 13 games. Right now the amount stands at Ksh 16,753,721.

The last jackpot was won at Ksh 12.6 million early this month by 32-year old boda boda rider Geoffrey Kipng’etich, a resident of Keringet, Nakuru County.
