After Getting Fired from Nation F.M and Allegedly Urban Radio Edward Kwach Lands a New Job

Edward Kwach takes the cake for the ‘most fired’ presenter in Kenya. He has been fired from quite a number of Radio stations that include Capital FM, Kiss FM, Nation FM and most recently Urban radio. But like the legendary mythological phoenix Edward Kwach ALWAYS rises from the ashes, always. Make no mistake, Edward will always find a way out from unemployment. He is just that guy.

And Kwach is back to the entertainment scene after allegedly being fired from Urban radio in August this year.He will be now hosting the premiere sports quiz in Kenya, The Bingwa Sports Quiz.

This time it will be at Natives Sports Bar and Grill on Thika Road after a 2 year break this coming Thursday 30th October 2014 from 7p.m. This is an English pub-style Sports Quiz with a local twist where fun loving sports fans get a chance to win Kshs. 10,000/- for knowing the most about sports in general and local sports in particular. This will be accompanied by great music interludes from Dj Mr. C of Spin Cycle Djs and of course banter from the outrageous Edward Kwach.

Set in the fabulous Natives Sports Bar ambiance accompanied by finger-licking food and drinks on offer, it is set to be a great night of fun and sports. In a bid to recognize and support outstanding individuals in Kenyan sports, there is usually a special invited guest from the sports fraternity gracing the event to meet and greet their fans. This months’ guest will be Mr. Francis Kimanzi, the current Tusker FC Manager and former Harambee Stars Coach.

The Bingwa Sports Quiz was conceived in November 2011 with the long term aim of promoting local sports through highlighting knowledge about local sports events in addition to achievements of local sportsmen and women. One of the main short term objectives is to act as a platform for the local sports/corporate fraternity to network, unwind and have some friendly fun competition amongst themselves. Another short term objective is to encourage interest in local sports by making knowledge/skill in sports a plus to assist in winning the fantastic rewards at the quiz night. “We believe when people interact with sports it fosters positive sports virtues, which can be taken back to their work and homes for a better, healthier and more productive life.” read a statement from Ed Kweri, one of the organizers.

“Sports have the power to change the world…” – the late former South African President and Nobel Peace prize winner, Nelson Mandela.

The Bingwa Sports Quiz ran for 15 months successfully at Galleria Mall until March 2013 when the venue it was held at closed suddenly.
