Are Cooperates Doing Enough in Promoting Blogging in Kenya? Fashion Blogger Joy Kendi Shares Her Two Cents #BlogAwardsKe

Blogging is the next big thing; it’s the next revolution that is bound to take news reporting to the next level. And not only in news reporting but also in brand awareness and campaign because with rapid development in internet awareness and penetration, the corporate world has discovered that the internet is the fastest and the most convenient platform to reach out to its target audience.

It makes perfect sense because as more Kenyans plug into the information super highway, blogs are emerging as a source of vital information. Whether it is breaking news, analysis or commentary, blogs are increasingly commanding more authority as alternative sources of information. Through blogging and social media there is now a second force for reporting. Bloggers are starting to influence mainstream content and opinions on topics ranging from technology, fashion, sports, politics and many other areas.

Renowned fashion blogger Joy Kendi in a recent one on one with Ghafla highlighted this plight and spoke on the relationship between co-orporates and bloggers. She specifically insisted on the need to work together in promoting content to a greater scale while in essence still advancing advertisement.

This resonates well with Airtel which believes in recognizing and empowering the potential of our youth and most Kenyan bloggers being part of this demograph, they have the power to change people’s lives. See full interview here:
