Fashion Exclusive: This Is Where Raila Odinga,William Kabogo, Karim Khan Chris Kirubi And Other Elite Folk Buy Suits.

The name Victor Winners may not be a common name for most of us  that still live in rentals. Neither is the name Salvatore Di Fransisca a household name. But the few people that know the two names have known class, elegance and chivalry all wrapped into one bespoke shop at the the Village market first floor.

Salvatore Di Fransisca better known as “Bespoke Shop” is a pricey high end male boutique at the village market. It is from this shop that Raila Odinga the former prime minister buys his suits. The late Fidel Odinga used to be a consistent client until his demise a  month ago. Wiliam Kabogo, one of the richest people in Kenya buys his suits here, so does Chris Kirubi and Karim Khan.

I was talking to Victor winners last weekend at the Sankara hotel. Victor is a fashion designer, and a  graduate from Monaco university, he works at the bespoke shop and pretty much meets very important gentlemen who drop by the shop frequently to have their measurements taken.

He disclosed to me that every fortnight, Italian tailors fly in to the country on an all expense paid flight, during their two day stay in the country, they meet  the elite folk, take measurements and fly back to Italy. In  Italy the tailors make the suits by hand and in a fortnight, the suits are flown in , crisp and fresh.

Now that sounds like a good deal right? These suits are custom made for the individual as per their preferences and a little advice from the suit connoisseurs from Italy.

The prices are the deal breaker. The cheapest price for a suit at the bespoke shop goes for 1500USD that is an equivalent of 135,000ksh. Prices range from 1500 USD to 4000USD. (360,000ksh) The price cater for the unique high end fabric and the flawless nature in which they are made.

Victor went on to reveal that most clients buy at least 5 suits at a go. With only a handful of consistent clients, the shop is able to stay in operation, pay flights for Italian tailors  conduct their day to day business comfortably.

Yes Victor believes that class can be bought, with a lot of money. I agree with him.

I need a drink.
