5 Celebrities Who Ventured Into Politics

Across the world, people use the platforms they have in order to enter into the world of politics. This trend has been adopted by certain celebrities and popular figures in Ghana.

These celebrities have used the fame they amassed to try and enter into the political arena. Whether good or bad, these celebrities tried their hands at politics.

We at Ghafla.com decided to put together a list of such personalities who decided to try their hands at politics.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Kojo used to be the host of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show. He quit the show and then during the 2016 presidential and parliamentary campaing, he announced his intention of going into politics as a member of parliament. He won the seat and is currently a deputy minister in the adminsitration.

Dzifa Gomashie

Dzifa Gomashie waas one of the talented and celebrated actress in the 80’s and 90’s. She did not fun for any office however she was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts during the Mahama administration.

Fritz Baffour

Baffour was a journalist, stand-up comedian, and actor. During the Rawlings era, he was a media consultant to the government. In 2008, he contested for the Ablekuma South seat and won. In 2012, he was appointed as Minister of Information.

Grace Omaboe

Grace first entered into politics during the 2000 elections. She contested the Birim North seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress. She lost the seat and later made a return with a different political affiliation. In a nutshell, her political aspirations did not come to fruition.

Sena Okitty Duah

Sena was Miss Ghana 1997. She then became Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku in the Greater Accra region in 2012.
