Asempa FM’s Fire Lady Wins Sports Women Achievers Award

Producer and hostess of Asempa FM’s ‘Ladies Time’ Mavis Amanor was over the weekend honored at the maiden edition of the Sports Women Achievers Awards.

In Sports Association (WISA), an NGO committed to the development and promoting of sports activities involving women and girls was highly patronized by very notable personalities from the women sporting fraternity and saw winners including those who have disguised themselves on the field of play, sports administration, academia and media, sweeping home plaques and decoders from Kwese TV as prizes.

Fire Lady, the proud recipient of an award for her dedication and selfless service and contributions to the sports industry could not hide her gratitude and promised to continue her great works.

Winners for the various sporting disciplines were Adjoa Bayor, former Black Queens captain(football), Albert Ampomah (weightlifting), Naa Amerley Turkson (Boxing), Mona Captan Myers- Lamptey (Golf), Yarkor Chavez Annan (Boxing), Elizabeth King (Hockey), and Ethel Jacks (Table Tennis).

For sports administration, GFA Executive Committee member, Leanier Afiyo Addy (women’s (Sports) Habiba Attah, Gifty Annan-Myers (Rugby), Dr. Deborah Cubage(Women’s Sports), Christie Dodoo (National Sports Authority) and Frederica Mensah- Davies (National Sports Authority) were also honoured for their diverse contributions.
