According to the “Brother Brother” hitmaker, when he chooses to be outspoken, the media calls him arrogant and when he chooses to be quiet, they call him timid. He added that even his words during an interview are always twisted and they don’t appreciate his effort.

He tweeted;

“When you talk your mind they’ll say u r arrogant. Be cool they’ll say u r too timid. U do interview you’ll have a twisted story to tarnish your image just because some ppl want traffic. Win int. award seff they’ll say you didn’t rep your country well. Fvcked up industry”.

The song earned him awards and performing gigs in and out of the country.

However, that does not seem to be the case with the artiste.

He is hardly heard although he keeps releasing songs from time to time.

Speaking to Accra-based Hitz FM, Bisa K’dei indicated that;

“We are doing our best. It doesn’t mean we are not working. When people say I’m slow on promo now, I tell them it’s because ‘Mansa’ was too loud out there I admit it’s because of the buzz. As an artiste I am going to do my best to push Highlife music”.

‘Ghanaians’ Love For Dancehall Is Killing Highlife’ – Bisa Kdei

Renowned contemporary High-life artiste Bisa Kdei has  expressed great worries over the degenerating nature of Ghana’s High-life.

Bisa believes that the massive love for dancehall genre by Ghanaians is what is killing the Highlife genre.

High-life music genre is the heartbeat of Ghana music. Thus, Ghanaians gave birth to the this genre, therefore, there’s the need for them to put strategic measures in place to protect and develop rapidly the indigenous genre.

According to the ‘Mansa’ hitmker, Ghanaians love for foreign music genres especially Dancehall is a contributing factor to its gradual collapse.

Bisa was peaking in an interview with Emcee Bebe, host of Entertainment Xtra on Cape 93.3FM.

“Highlife is struggling as far as Ghanaians continue to give much attention to foreign genres especially Dancehall.

We just have to believe in ourselves that Highlife is from us and push higher the indigenous music genre. One thing is that it’s only Highlife that’s putting Ghana out there,”  he said.

Besides, the “Brother Brother” crooner noticed that Ghanaian artistes who are doing High-life are more recognized in Europe than those who are representing other genres.

To him, you (Ghanaian artsites) can’t sell Dancehall or Hip-Hop better than the Europeans because they’re the originators.

“The Europeans want to listen to indigenous music and instruments comparably to Dancehall among others if you’re a Ghanaian artiste. How can a Ghanaian artiste sell Dancehall music better than Jamaicans?” Bisa Kdei quizzed.

Bisa is currently out with a new single ‘Biribi Nti’ off his Highlife Konnect album.

I Can’t Fake Stories To Sell My Music – Bisa Kdei

Highlife legend, Bisa Kdei  says there is no way he can ever fake a story just to sell his music.

Bisa, born Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah is of the view that it is unnecessary for an artiste to deliberately create a buzz to sell their craft.

According to him, it is right for the hype to happen naturally to sell the artiste than fake stories to that effect.

Bisa’s comments follows claims by many entertainment critics that his supposedly ‘romantic’

relationship with singer Becca helped promote many of his songs.

But Bisa, in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, rubbished the

perception that he schemed with Becca to create the buzz.

“It’s the work we do. Anything can happen to help boost an artiste but the fact that it wasn’t there doesn’t mean you should put it there. We [Becca and Bisa] weren’t having an affair, someone just assumed it,” he told Andy.

Bisa Kdei is currently promoting his new album dubbed, “Highlife Konnect”.

“It is not affecting me because everyone knows what he is doing. I am his junior brother and if anything he should call me. He can advise me but if he says things on radio like that then it means something else. I don’t have any issues with him…”, he added.
