This is not a moment to stay silent, I would like to use my platform and status as an Afrobeat artist to

also say my peace and reach my fan base and educate them about equality of all races.

Countless young Black and Latino men and women have been the victims of police brutality and other forms of institutional racism in the American community and it’s about time we all took a stand against such injustice.

The change we need, the change we want will definitely not happen overnight, but the peaceful protest that has escalated worldwide will definitely spark a new reform/change in racial violence of all type.

BLACK LIVES MATTER is not to say other races do not matter but in America for several years even after the abolishing of slavery 400 years ago, BLACK Americans have been continually denied privileges and rights just because of their race.

People are tired of seeing black men die over and over again and nothing gets done about it, imagine the black lives that has been lost through such brutality and were not filmed.

We are fortunate that in this age we have smartphones with built-in cameras that can capture anything and share with the world with just a press of a button.

Background
The current surge in riots was caused by the inhumane death of George Floyd, killed by Derek Chauvin a police officer with the Minneapolis Police department, who pressed his knee into George Floyd’s neck for nearly nine-minute.

Chauvin, J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao were responding to a call about a $20 counterfeit bill on May 25, 2020, when they detained Floyd, who died in custody.

Chauvin has been charged with a new count of second-degree murder which states that he Killed George Floyd but “Without intent.”

The climax of the event which is the show couldn’t come off due to the president’s banned on social gathering.

According to the actress, her management has received over 200 different phone calls with all requesting for support.

Presidential Cabinet Reshuffle: Catherine Afeku Out, Barbara Gyasi Now Tourism Minister

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has effective Thursday, 28 February, 2019 made some change in his cabinet.

One of the key changes however was the exit of Catherine Ablema Afeku as Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

In a statement signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency,

Meanwhile, Catherine Afeku is now a Minister of State at the Office of the President, assigned

to the Office of the Senior Minister.

The Minister-designate for the Tourism, Arts and Culture is Barbara Oteng Gyasi, Member of

Parliament for Prestea Huni-Valley constituency.

She was the former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.

PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO MAKES CHANGES TO HIS GOVERNMENT

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has made the following changes to the composition of his government, with immediate effect:

Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni-Valley constituency and former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, is now the Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts;

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih is now Upper West Regional Minister-designate. The former Regional Minister, Sulemana Alhassan, has been reassigned;

Hon. Catherine Afeku, Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira constituency and former Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, is now a Minister of State at the Office of the President, assigned to the Office of the Senior Minister;

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North constituency and former Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, is now Deputy Minister for Education;

Hon. Freda Prempeh, Member of Parliament for Tano North constituency and former Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, is now Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection;

Hon. Barbara Ayisi Asher, Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North constituency and former deputy Minister for Education, is now Deputy Minister for Works and Housing;

“Government Has Limited Ability To Create Jobs” – Nana Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has at a recent gathering pointed at the

private sector as bearing the primary responsibility of job creation.

According to him, government’s ability to create jobs is limited.

But he indicated that the private sector’s disposition to create jobs must have the “active support” of government. He said since assuming office two years ago, he has sought to build the most business-friendly environment in Africa and he is on course.

“My government will work to continue to create a stable macroeconomic [atmosphere],” Nana Addo said.

He stressed that the goal of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is to whip up the innovative and entrepreneurial instincts of the Ghanaian private sector “to drive record growth in job creation”.

“I am confident that we are on course in realizing this dream,” he added.

Minister of Trades and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who was also at the event,

lauded the president for stabilizing Ghana’s economy.

He said the macroeconomic indicators are favourable for businesses to thrive in Ghana.

‘Touch’ Otumfuo With Your Prophecies And Face Banishment – Owusu Bempah Warned

The Asante Youth Association is warning Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder and leader

of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry never to go near the Asante Kingdom with his prophecies.

According to a leading member of the group, Osei Kofi, Owusu Bempah faces banishment

from the Asante Kingdom if he ever dares defy this latest directive issued by the Asante Youth Association.

“We don’t need your fake prophecies…keep them in Accra. You were born in Kumasi and we were here with you before you moved to Accra. You are obliged to speak about anyone but do not incur our wrath by speaking about our King….we beg you.

If you do not want our trouble when you are engaged in your prophecies on every December 31, keep out Manhyia. Let it be a no-go area for you. It is a warning and I mean it. Are you the only Man of God? When did you arrive? We shall banish you if you try that next time”, Osei Kofi warned.

He further stressed that the popular Prophet should never dare to include neither the King

of Asante, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II nor any of his sub-chiefs in his prophecies if he desires to

return to Kumasi his birthplace.

On Kumasi-based Nhyira Fm, he stated explicitly that Reverend Owusu Bempah should make

Manhyia and its occupants a no go area as far as his prophecies are concerned warning him

of the dire consequences that await him if he fails to adhere.

“I Osei Kofi a member of the Asante Youth Association, I want to sit in the studios of Nhyira Fm and warn him. If you are speaking carelessly like a mad man don’t dare bring it to Manhyia. If you speak like that to others, make sure you don’t venture into Manhyia with that style.

Do not speak about anyone in Manhyia like you have been doing”, he issued a stern warning during a live studio discussion.

He rebuffed his latest prophecies that Otumfuo will die this year reminding him that the Asante Kingdom is under the full protection of the ancestors which is why any King who ascends the throne lives longer.

“Don’t dare speak about our King and his sub-chiefs because they have adequate protection from their ancestors. If he is not aware he should go and read from the history books about the Kings of Asante and how long they lasted on the throne”, he fumed.

Our Son Fears Allah, Not Death – Bawumia’s Kinsmen To Owusu Bempah

Out of the numerous prophecies that have been unleashed this year by Rev. Isaac Owusu

Bempah is that Ghana’s vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is going to die this year.

Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, who is the Founder of Glorious Word Ministry gave this

prophecy during his 31st night service preaching in his church.

Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah,on New Year eve prophesied that former President John

Mahama and current Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are going to die this year.

Founder and leader of the True Word Prophetic Ministry International, Prophet Nigel Gaisie

also sought to make a similar prophecy by suggesting that Dr Bawumia might lose life in 2019 if prayers are not administered to avert the doom ahead.

According to him Ghana is likely to replace Dr Bawumia with a female vice president and the only possible way for this to happen is when Dr Bawumia resigns or die.

Reacting to the news however, some kinsmen of the vice president have replied the Prophet

stating that Dr Bawumia fears Allah, not death and even if his claims are true, it won’t come

to pass, according to a report by MyNewsGh.com.

According to the aggrieved kinsmen from Bawumia’s hometown in Walewale, they will not

sit aloof and allow him cause fear and panic among residents with such a

doomsday prophecy about the death of their illustrious son who they hold in high esteem.

A sub-chief from the Walewale Traditional who spoke for the group per reports by My

NewGh.com, maintained that Dr Bawumia is a royal to the Mamprugu Kingdom and a devout

Muslim who believes in and fears only Allah, not death, and therefore is committed to only his

teachings and directives to damning the so-called unconfirmed prophecies predicting his death.

“Our son is a devout Muslim and a royal of the Mamprugu Kingdom who also believes in the dictates and teachings of Allah as a devout Muslim. In as much as we respect Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, I am at a loss as to why his prophecies are always about deaths. We will not sit down and allow our son go die against God’s plans”, he warned.

But kinsmen insist that the Vice President is never going to die and have slammed the pastors who prophesied his death stating that his family is a Muslim family that believes that every individual will die no matter what, so they do not fear death.

The Spokesperson indicated that the pastors who have predicted the death of their brother and son should rather focus on protecting themselves from death because their family has seen several deaths and have embraced it wholeheartedly as committed Muslims warning that they stand the chance to die first.

“Tell the pastors that we don’t fear death in our family. We are Muslims and we don’t fear death” he told MyNewsGh.com.

As such cosmetics and beauty industry is now one of the most profit making industries across

the globe.

These industries are now cashing in big on products that leave women feeling and looking good.

Several products are launched day and night, all trying to outdo each other to give women that

perfect look when stepping out. With social media giving people the opportunity to show the

world what they are up to, many women feel pressured to constantly look good or better than

other women in the room. Consequently, many resort to different procedures, including plastic surgeries.

In recent times butt augmentation has turned out as the most popular surgery for women

seeking the perfect body shape. The procedure involves taking fat from an unwanted

part of the body and injecting it into the buttocks.

But as is the reality, there are grave side effects to the use of such products or butt implants.

South Africa

increase of women’s interest in butt augmentation which costs between R75,000 and R100,000.

Congo

In Congo, a woman with a huge butt is seen as more attractive and beautiful and this perception

has led many women in the country feel the need to fit into the standard expectation of beauty.

The more disturbing factor when it comes to Congo is that women are not able to afford proper

butt augmentation and have resorted to using chicken stock injections as an alternative.

The procedure which seems to work for many is twice more dangerous than the proper

procedure has been said to be.

Nigeria

Nigeria is no stranger to plastic surgery and butt augmentation is no different.

Many celebrities including the very confident actress, Tonto Dike, have come out to talk

about her cosmetic surgeries after suffering from depression due to her post-partum body.

More recently, socialite Toke Makinwa has been accused of having a butt augmentation

procedure after going under the radar for a few weeks and suddenly coming back on the

Government Declares January 7 As A Public Holiday

To all the holiday lovers, here’s a new one to add to your calendar.

Government has officially declared Monday, January 7, 2019 as Constitution Day and will be observed as a public holiday nationwide.

A press release dated December 27 and signed by the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery has stated.

Earlier this month, legislation was laid in parliament on government’s proposal of new holidays to be observed in the country.

Government sought to amend the public holiday Act 2001 (Act 601) with the introduction of the ‘Constitution Day’ which falls on January 7 every year.

The amendment also proposed that the Africa Union day, marked on May 25,

and Republic Day on July 1 be made commemorative days.

January 7, 1993, was the day the current Constitution came into force for the Fourth Republic of Ghana. This, however, was after its approval at a Referendum held on April 28, 1992.

January 7 is also the day new Heads of State are sworn into office. The memo from the Interior Ministry said it was worth setting aside January 7 as Constitution Day “to acknowledge our collective efforts as a country in ensuring that the tenets of democracy, the rule of law and the principles of constitutionalism are upheld.”

We will resist Gov’t’s new holidays – Minority

Meanhwile, the Minority in Parliament is also mobilizing a broad-based coalition to put pressure on the government to withdraw the Public Holidays Amendment Act.

According to Minority Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the latest amendment amounts to disrespect of the legacy of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president.

The North Tongu MP, in a Citi News interview with Duke Mensah Opoku said the minority will vehemently resist the attempt by government to have the holidays changed.

“It is important to serve notice to the government that the Ghanaian people will not be insulted. Our history will not be revised. We will not accept this fascist, familiar attempt to revise the history of our country.

President Akufo-Addo should know that he is really playing with fire and he is

going to be faced with the kind of resistance that his government has never

witnessed nor experienced. There is going to be a series of resistance.

There are some things you will not touch. We would have thought that Akufo-Addo

will stay on his manifesto promises which he has so far failed to deliver on. The abysmal performance that he has so far exhibited,” he said.

Government Workers To Enjoy 10% Pay Rise In 2019

Public sector workers who fall under the single spine salary structure are to enjoy a 10% pay rise across the board beginning January 2019.

Public sector workers in Ghana will enjoy a 10 per cent pay rise across board.

This however will be effective from January 1, 2019.

The pay rise was meanwhile agreed on after a shareholders meeting was held with the Finance Ministry.

This was however contained in a statement issued by the Finance ministry Wednesday after a meeting with the various stakeholders.

The statement reads;

“Following the conclusion of negotiations on the 2019 single spine base pay, approval is hereby given for the attached salary structure marked ‘Appendix A’ to be used to effect the payment of salaries of public service institutions on the single spine salary structure. The attached structure incorporates a 10% across board salary increase.

“The effective date of implementation is January 1, 2019. In Accordance with government’s white paper on the guidelines for the implementation of market premium, you are reminded that the payment of interim market premium to existing beneficiaries should be the absolute amount calculated on the 2012 and not the enhanced 2019 single spine base salaries.”

Prince Of Wales Coming To Ghana

Prince Charles,the eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II and heir apparent to the British throne

is set to visit Ghana on November 2, 2018.

Prince Charles, who is also the Prince of Wales is expected to be accompanied by his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Both are embarking on a tour of Africa to deepen the British Monarch’s historical ties with its former colonies, including Ghana.

Prince Charles, who has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, first visited

Ghana in March 1977 to attend the Golden Jubilee of Achimota School, formerly ‘The Prince of

Wales College,’ and a durbar in his honor in Kumasi by His Majesty Otumfuo Nana Opoku Ware II.

A statement from Clarence House, which is the official residence of the Prince of Wales, said;

“their Royal Highnesses’ visit, which is at the request and on behalf of the British Government, will celebrate the U.K.’s dynamic, forward-looking partnerships with these Commonwealth Nations on a range of shared priorities.”

“The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will visit Ghana from 2-6 November 2018.

This visit will highlight the UK’s warm and enduring relationship with Ghana and the breadth of our dynamic contemporary partnership and our shared values.

On arrival in Accra, Their Royal Highnesses will be welcomed at Jubilee House by His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo and Her Excellency First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo.”

State banquet

The statement said “they will attend a State Banquet organised by the Presidency in their honour, celebrating the ties between the UK and Ghana. It will be attended by senior dignitaries, a number of British Ghanaians, as well as prominent figures from business, arts, culture and media.”

It further stated that, “The Prince will also attend a meeting with Ghanaian and International business leaders to discuss sustainable practices in Ghana’s cocoa industry and key environmental issues.

His Royal Highness will visit the Christiansborg Castle, once a Danish and then British, slave fort, which was until a few years ago the seat of Ghana’s Government after independence, to discuss the future restoration and reuse of the area, as part of a major redevelopment of Accra’s waterfront, conceived by the Ghanaian Government with the architect Sir David Adjaye.”

A Visit To Manhyia

“Their Royal Highnesses will visit Kumasi to meet His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the

Ashantehene at the Manhyia palace. The Prince and The Duchess will attend a traditional

durbar or procession at the palace with the Ashantehene and local chiefs.”

The Duchess, who is President of the Women of the World Festival, will also attend an

event for Ghanaian women in leadership positions.

The Women of the World festival (WOW) is a global festival movement founded by Jude

Kelly CBE in London in 2010 to celebrate women and girls and look at the obstacles that

stop them from achieving their potential.

The WOW event in Ghana will include a round-table discussion with influential Ghanaian women.

Commemorative event

Their Royal Highnesses will take part in a commemorative event to acknowledge the sacrifices

made by Ghanaian soldiers during the First and Second World Wars, and in more recent times

during international peacekeeping missions.

This is the second visit to Ghana for The Prince of Wales and the first for The Duchess of Cornwall.

Ahead of this visit the statement quoted President Akufo-Addo as saying “I welcome The Prince of Wales very warmly back to Ghana, a country he knows well. He is an old friend of our country, and we look forward to receiving him, as his visit will renew and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the United Kingdom and Ghana.”

British High Commissioner, Iain Walker was also quoted as saying “their Royal Highnesses visit to Ghana comes at an opportune moment.

The UK and Ghana’s shared history and common values form the basis of our enduring friendship. But it’s the many and varied links between our people’s which make our ties so unique.

This visit allows us to celebrate all that is good about our ties. And importantly to focus on shaping the common future we each want to create. This is a once in a generation visit by the heir to the throne; one that I am confident will endure in the hearts and minds of us all.”

‘Kudos Ghana’ – Nollywood Star Kanayo O Kanayo Praises Kotoka Airport

The new Terminal 3 at the Kotoka International Airport has caught the attention of many

travelers who have used it since its opening.

The terminal seems to particularly warm the hearts of Nigerian entertainment personalities.

Few weeks ago, Nigerian gospel act, Ebenezer Benjamin, who is famous for ‘Victory’ hit song,

who was amazed by the facility.

In a video, he described the terminal as amazing and urged the Nigerian government to take a cue from Ghana.

“Ladies and gentlemen believe me or not, this is Ghana airport. State-of-the-art airport. This is amazing. It’s a shame [for Nigeria]… Nigeria is this fair? Look at Ghana airport. Shame on the looters,” the gospel musician added and urged Nigerians to “vote spiritually and physically,” Ebenezer, who performed at this year’s Adom Praiz concert, said in the video.

The latest to hail the airport is the multiple awards-winning Nigerian actor Kanayo O Kanayo.

The movie star has hailed Ghana for a job well done at the airport.

Kanayo took to his official Instagram page wand shared photos he took at the airport whiles

in Ghana with his followers.

He further described the airport as world class.

“Hello friends, good morning. This is NOT Europe, It is Kotoka International Airport, Accra, World Class in Africa. Kudos Ghana,” he said.

BACKGROUND

The Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport became fully operational on September 15,

2018, following the completion of tests and simulation exercises.

The opening of the ultra-modern terminal saw hundreds of passengers in both arrival and

departures departments of the terminal go through what many say is a rather smooth and stress-free procedure.

The $250 million T3 project is expected to be officially commissioned by President Akufo-Addo on October 2, 2018.

The new terminal comprises of five levels spread across an area of 48,268m² and semi-closed

areas for the Baggage Make-up Areas of 28,260m², Ultra-Modern facilities and capacity to

handle 5 million passengers a year; capacity to process 1,250 passengers per hour; six boarding

bridges; 7 links (expandable to 8 in the future); Large retail area (7000m²), CIP terminal and

707 Car parking slots and a new Road network.

Ghana To Use Drones To Distribute Blood, Drugs – Dr Bawumia

Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed that government will soon utilize drone technology in the country by September, this year.

According to the Veep, government will use drones to distribute blood supplies and essential medicines to remote communities.

He disclosed that government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with a health service provider this week to effect this initiative.

“By the grace of God; there are ongoing discussions, we are looking at innovative ways to deliver blood supplies as well as essential medicines to remote areas. As the rains come in, some areas are going to be cut off… Do we allow mothers to die because we can’t have blood supplies or essential medicines? So we are going to do that this year.” He said.

Dr Bawumia was speaking at the opening of the Annual Health Summit organized by the Ministry of Health, in Accra.

The meeting which came off on Monday was on the theme: ‘‘Achieving Universal Health Coverage-Using Innovative Approaches’’.

Dr Bawumia explained that this is part of the government’s effort to ensure quality healthcare delivery.

‘‘We don’t have to allow our mothers to die because we can’t have blood supplies and essential medicines sent to them,’’ Dr Bawumia said.

He also said that the system of delivering blood supplies and essential drugs was being implemented in some African countries. He cited countries such as Malawi and Rwanda.

The Vice President did not give full details about this development. However, he maintained that government is willing to introduce other innovations to boost the country’s health sector.

WASSCE Candidate Burnt To Death During Prayers For Exam Success

A West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) candidate has burnt to death during prayers for her success.

The female student, Portia Donkor, 18, is a final year student of Gomoa Ahyiem SHS.

According to reports, she went for prayers on 1st April 2018 to enable her pass the on-going West African Secondary School Certificate Exams (WASSCE). She was in the company of her parents and siblings.

However, Prophetess, Efua Eguawaa in praying for her is reported to have smeared the victim’s body with anointing oil. She also gave her a candle to hold as she performed some rituals.

But in the course of the rituals, the lit candle came into contact with the girls dress.

Unfortunately, things turned sour and the fire spread rapidly due to the oil on her body setting her ablaze.

She was rushed to the Our Lady of Grace Hospital in Breman Asikuma when the fire could not be readily quenched. However, they later transferred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where she passed on.

Prophetess Efua Eguama, 45-year-old is said to be the leader of the African Faith Church at Breman Bedum. This is where the girl and her parents had one for prayers.

She’s reported to have been arrested by the Asikuma Police and she is currently helping with further investigations.

The Breman Asikuma District Police Commander, ASP Emmanuel Donkor Baah, confirmed the incident.

He said the prophetess absconded after the incident. But the police was able to arrest her with the help of some community members. and she is currently helping with investigations.

Poor Ghanaian Men Don’t Cheat, Only The Rich Does – Fisherman

Chief International Correspondent for CNN, Christiane Amanpour flew to Ghana to conduct interviews on the topic ‘Sex and Love Around the World’.

She’s interviewed some Ghanaians about the topic to get their divergent views on it.

In one of the episodes she landed in James Town, a fishing community in Accra. There she spoke to a young man believed to be in his mid-forties on ‘Is cheating a rich man’s game?”.

However, the young man who doubles as a footballer and fisherman said he believes only rich men cheat on their wives. This according to him is because they have the mean and can afford to have mistress’ aside their wives.

“I don’t cheat on my wife because I’m poor”. He answered, when quizzed whether he cheats on his wife or not.

His answer which was rather interesting made Christian Amanpour probe further about the relationship between ‘money and infidelity’

“So this is rather interesting, you did say that you don’t cheat because you are a poor person, would you say that the people who cheat are mostly the rich people who can afford to have a wife and a mistress and a girlfriend”, she asked.

“Because of their money, when you are rich you can decide to choose any woman you want, but I am a poor person I have to stay with one lady”, he said.

Instagram sensation, Moesha Boduong, earlier told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that women in Ghana sleep with married men for money for survival.

According to her, the root of all these is because Ghana’s economy very bad.

“[In] Ghana, our economy is in such a way that you just need someone to take care of you.

“You can’t make enough money as a woman here because even if you want to get an apartment, in Ghana you pay two years in advance and I just started working, where will I get money to pay for an apartment for two years,” she told Amanpour in an interview.

Photos: Dr. Bawumia Returns To Ghana Healthy And Strong

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has arrived safely to Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia was met with a massive presidential ceremony at the Kotoka International Airport last night, February 1.

His Excellency was beaming as he touched down at exactly 8:00 pm on a British Airways flight with his wife, Samira Mahamudu.

The Vice President was reported to have gone on a on sick leave in the United Kingdom few weeks ago.

President Nana Akufo-Addo, his wife Rebecca Akufo-Addo and other government officials were there to welcome him back home.

Dr Bawumia had been out of the country for 12 days on medical leave. He was said to have reported sick and was advised to take a break.

Details of the sickness were not however not disclosed.

A statement was issued on January 19, announcing the vice president was going to the UK on medical leave. This statement however triggered lots of speculations and controversy among Ghanaians especially the minority opposition party.

The Minority demanded full disclosure on the health status of the president. They further accused the government of covering up the true health status of the ailing vice president.

But the Information Minister Mustapha Hamid insisted the request by the Minority was untenable. He insisted that the health of every individual must remain a private issue.

While in London there were speculations about the deteriorating health of the vice president. Some even went as far as suggesting he had been paralyzed.

Not even a picture and video of a bubbly Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia taking a stroll on London streets will stop the unhealthy rumours.

The speculations and rumours even went a notch higher with critics suggesting the pictures and videos were old and stale.

Amidst all the controversies, the presidency on Thursday, February 1, 2018, issued another statement. This time round, announcing the vice president’s fitness and arrival later in the day.

Dr. Bawumia has finally arrived looking all healthy and strong. He will even take over as acting president today whiles the president leaves for Senegal.

Ghanaians Attack NewYork Times For “Distasteful” Description of President Nana Addo On Social Media

“If you want to hide something from a black man put it in the form of writing’, until now I used to believe that this saying was true about blacks but a current occurrence has made me realized that this saying, if was any moment true is now archaic.

On October 2, 2017, an article was published by the American News Site, The New York Times titled ” Obesity Was Rising As Ghanaians Embrace Fast Food. Then Came KFC” has stirred up anger among many Ghanaians who took to social media to express their anger and displeasure at a particular phrase that caught their attention.

“Like many of his countrymen, the round-faced president himself is overweight” was the particular part of the article written by Dionne Searcey and Matt Richtell on nytimes.com that has provoked many of Ghanaians.

This part of the article did not fall at the first, second or third paragraphs but is located somewhere almost getting to the concluding part and if Ghanaians and Blacks for that matter, were able to read an article that exceeds 32 paragraphs and noted something to their displeasure then as stated at the beginning of this article, one can no longer hide anything from a black man by way of putting it in writing anymore.
Below are some of the responses of some Ghanaians on social media in relation yo the NYT article.

The article sought to look at the causes of obesity and based their research on Ghana’s own franckise of America’s Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) not only insult the president but also stated that “In Ghana, KFC isn’t just food. It’s a social status” did not go down well with many Ghanaians as they took to social media to express their displeasure and as well educate the NYT better.
