MTN Hitmaker To Unveil Final 12 In October

The final 12 contestants for this year’s edition of the music reality show MTN Hitmaker

will be unveiled on October 12, 2018.

This season’s search was nothing short of fun and hard work as judges had to cut down

from thousands to 12.

Richie Mensah of Lynx Entertainment, one of the judges said;

“…this has definitely been the most challenging, most demanding, most exciting

and definitely the best array of talents in my history as a judge on MTN Hitmaker”

All over the world, music reality TV shows have unearthed some of the greatest talents.

In Ghana however, Efya, Adina, Wiyaala, Kaakie, Kurlsongx, Kidi and Kuami Eugene are just

but a few of the products of MTN Hitmaker.

Tuesday 2nd October 2018 should be a day to anticipate for the unveiling ceremony of

the final 12 contestants for the 7th edition of the music reality show.

The venue will be the National Theater where the journey for these contestants will begin in

their battle toward the grand prize.

The final 12 in no particular order are Elisante, Erza Tamaa, Acoustic, Amakye the Rapper,

Awal, Ayeyi, Eva Maria, Gabby, Jayson, Kay Jay, Kulcha and OV.

With incredible performances lined up, audience are assured of a great night.

The judges for the 7th season, award winning music producer, Kaywa, award winning singer

song writer, Eazzy and entertainment critic, Francis Doku together with the general public

will assess their performance and cut down the numbers as the competition progresses.

The journey to finding the next Hitmaker has officially begun.

The show however airs on Saturdays on TV3 at 8pm, GHOne TV and TV Africa at 7:30pm, Kessben tv at

4pm and Tv3 at 8pm. And on Sundays on 4syte TV at 5pm, Joy Prime at 6:30pm, UTV at 3pm,

Homebase Tv at 4pm, Maxx TV at 8pm, Oceans tv and TV XYZ at 6pm.

MTN Hitmaker 7 is produced by Charterhouse productions and sponsored by MTN with

support from 2nd Image and Holy Trinity and Health Farm.

MTN Launches Hitmaker Season 7

Ghana’s number one Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN), has launched its 7th season of Hitmaker reality show.

Speaking at the launch held in Accra on Thursday, August 16, 2018, Guido Sopiimeh, Acting Chief Marketing Officer

for MTN Ghana, said the show has helped improve lives of several unacknowledged musicians and their audiences.

He also established that through the Hitmaker series, musicians such as Kidi, Kurl Songx, Koo Ntakra Naterial,

Togbe, Kwame Eugene and others have been able to flourish in the Ghanaian Music Industry.

According to him, these ‘Hitmakers’ had made significant progress as a result of the GH¢100,000.00 cash award for

the launch of their album which includes recording, music video production and promotion of their song.

Mr Sopiimeh said this year’s edition would make use of digital platforms such as MTN play and Video+.

This would enable the search for the talents and also create a platform for contestants to interact with their fans.

The launch was graced with personalities from the entertainment fraternity.

There were also performances from former contestants, winners of preceding editions.

Freda Rymz who is the immediate past winner for MTN Hitmaker season 6 also gave an electrifying performance.

The popular reality TV show is aimed at giving authentic, talented and potential singers and rappers a platform to

build upon themselves and be ready for the music industry.

Freda Wins MTN Hitmaker Season 6

Freda became the first female to win MTN Hitmaker. The competition is in its 6th season and this win makes it historic.

The finale of the 2017 edition took place at the National Theatre in Accra. Freda beat Xila, Drew, and Yaw Berk to win the Ghc 100,000 recording deal. She also gets a free music video worth $5000.

Drew, Yaw Berk and Xila took the second, third and fourth places respectively. Drew who came second for the reality show walked home with Ghc 10,000 cash prize.

The four finalists on the final night had two performances each. The first round saw them singing songs of renowned musicians in and outside the country. The the final round had them performing their original songs.

Freda received positive comments from all judges for both performances whilst the judges had issues with either of the performances of the other three contestants – Xila, Yaw Berk and Drew.

Freda becomes first female to win the MTN Hitmaker reality show. MTN Hitmaker season 6 finals was hosted by Berla Mundi and Giovanni Caleb.

Judges on the night were Francis Doku, Caroline Sampson and music producer Kaywa.

The competition began with 16 talented contestants with hopes of becoming the next Hitmaker, but Freda was announced winner on the final night.

Previous winners for MTN hitmaker reality show include Koo Ntakra, Kidi, and Kurl Songx.
