It’s A ‘Big Mistake To Compare Stonebwoy To Shatta Wale – Alkaline

There has been several debates as to which of Ghana’s two giant dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebowy is the greatest.

Many celebrities and personalities, in and out of Ghana have given their verdict on the matter. And it seems if this one goes to Shatta Wale, the next one will be in favor of Stonebowy.

Recently, two great artistes from South Africa, Casper Nyovest and Nasty C, came out to cast their votes in favor of Stonebowy.

Now, the newest to add his verdict is the multiple awards-winning Jamaican dancehall act, Alkaline.

Well, Alkaline has also cast his vote and we know the kind of relationship that exists between himself and Shatta Wale.

Alkaline made mention that Stonebwoy is good in his own right. But according to him, Shatta Wale is the greatest artiste to ever evolve from Africa.

Hence, he urged all to stop comparing Stonebowy to Shatta. This, according to him, is like comparing a football club in Ghana to Spanish football club Barcelona. This, he stressed is a ‘big mistake’

Alkaline’s speech;

“Shatta Wale is the biggest artist of all time in Africa and there is no doubt about that. We all know Stonebwoy is one of the biggest artist in Africa music industry right now but one thing I would like to say is that nobody should compare him to the big man Shatta Wale.

“Comparing him to Shatta Wale will be like comparing a football club in Ghana to Spanish football club Barcelona. Comparing Stonebwoy to Shatta Wale is a big mistake!.” He told Tim Westwood Tv in an interview.

Stonebwoy And Shatta Wale Can Never Be The Same – Epixode

Ghanaian dancehall artiste and performer, Episode, has said Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale can never be the same.

According to him, both artistes are unique in their own ways and are all masters in the game of music.

He insisted that both dancehall artistes are giving their followers and Ghanaians what is expected of them as far as music is concerned. As a result, he cannot place one above the other.

Epixode made these comments whilst speaking on the Class Drive on Class 91.3FM hosted by Prince Benjamin.

Epixode speaks;

“I will say that any dancehall artiste learned from people like Wale and Samini. I will say, Wale now has toned down his lyrics because he has given the people what they want but he is a very good lyricist that is what I can say about Wale.

“With Stonebwoy, I think he is still giving the people who he is. It doesn’t matter if the people need trash he is still giving them good music.

“So Wale can never be Stonebwoy and Stonebwoy can never be Wale so I just give respect to both of them.”

He further revealed that he was the brain behind the Logo of the Shatta Movement.

“I even designed the Shatta Movement logo, like eight years now. I was a protégé of Wale and anybody who has followed dancehall back to that time will really know what I am talking about,” he said.

Disable Federation To Sue Shatta Wale Over ‘Insult’

The Ghana Federation of Disability (GFD)Organization has made their intention known to sue self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale.

The organization has threatened to drag the ‘No Mercy For The Cripple’ crooner for reportedly insulting Stonebwoy on his Facebook page as a disabled person.

In an interview with Mike 2 on Adom entertainment hall last Saturday, the

The GFD president, Ofori Debrah, gave the hint in an interview with Mike 2 on Adom entertainment hall last Saturday.

According to him, if Shatta Wale does not render an apology over the said pronouncements, they would take legal action against him. This he said is because, they see his utterances as an insult to all Persons With Disabilities(PWD).

“We see it as an insult on all of us and as such, we are going to use article 191 of the disable Act to file a case against him”, he threatened.

He however maintained that they would first write a letter of caution to Shatta to come out and render an unqualified apology to them and Stonebwoy to avoid any legal suits.

Mr. Ofori further that they have delayed in taking legal actions. But that’s because they were waiting for Stonebwoy to first take action before they follow.

Meanwhile, the station reported that when Stonebwoy was contacted on the issue, he said he was not going to comment on it.

But all attempts to contact Shatta Wale has proved futile as well.

Beef

Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah and his nemesis, Stonebwoy(Livinstone Etse Satekla) have been in a ‘beef’ for as long as we can remember.

However, Shatta Wale recently took to his Facebook wall and backlashed Stonebwoy, calling him a cripple.

He even went as far as composing a song dubbed ‘No Mercy For The Cripple’ to diss the latter.

This follows an interview in which ‘Stonebowy’ said he is lyrically and ‘musically’ better than Shatta Wale.

Meanwhile, it seems the two acts have finally burry the hatchet over the weekends.

They were seen laughing and conversing with the CEO of Zylofon Media in Kumasi during the Akwasidae Festival.

Don’t Try This Next Time You Visit Us- Former High Commissioner Warns Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has continuously made the headlines recently for one controversy or another.

Few weeks back ,he in an said interview that he did not see Nigerian artiste Wizkid as a super star. This sparked a controversy between him and fans of the artiste on social media.

Again, some artistes who were billed but couldn’t perform at the just ended S -Concert are blaming him for that.

Shatta upped the controversy level when he publicly slapped one of his bodyguards.

Reason being that he had allowed a fan climb upstage and touched Shatta whiles he was performing.

This happened while he was  performing to a packed audience at this year’s S-Concert last Friday.

Commissioner’s Tweet

Taking to his Twitter handle, the former British diplomat to Ghana warned Shatta Wale not to treat a passport control officer the same way he treated his bodyguard the next time he visits London.

Jon Benjamin’s tweet:

I See Nothing Extraordinary About Wizkid- Shatta Wale

Award-winning dance hall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah best known as Shatta Wale says he sees nothing extraordinary about his fellow Nigerian Afro-beat artiste, Wizkid

According to him, most of his colleague-musicians put up weird and awkward behaviors around Wizkid, hence rating him the best and richest African artiste, but he (Shatta Wale) see’s him as an ordinary person when they meet on the same platform.

Shatta Wale Speaks

“I will not see Wizkid and be stunned, I rather want him to see me and be amazed because I don’t see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the best African artiste…” He said on Kasapa FM.

The ‘Taking Over’ crooner further added that he is not bragging about his wealth or competing with anyone but it’s high time Ghanaian artistes respect themselves and stop rating Nigerian artistes into the sky.

Ironically, Wizkid won the Best African Male Artiste at the just ended 2017 All African Music Awards (AFRIMA). The awards held in Lagos on Sunday saw Wizkid defeat his arch-rival Davido.

Notwithstanding, Shatta Wale says he is motivating his colleague artistes and fans to believe that they can also achieve that same status the foreign artistes have through hard work and perseverance.

The ‘Forgetti’ singer added that, though most of his colleagues see him as a braggart, he is the only ‘smart’ African artiste making enormous money out of his music career.

He called on Ghanaian artistes to start respecting themselves and stop rating Nigerian artistes above them.

I Am Disappointed The President Invited Shatta Wale – Ayariga

The presidential candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC) has called out President Akufo-Addo for spending time with Shatta Wale at the Flagstaff House.

He talked about it to Joy News’ Emefa Nancy Dzradosi. Hassan Ayariga believes the First Gentleman should be focused on solving the numerous challenges facing the country. He should not rather be making merry with artistes.

“Our President is busy smiling and busy laughing all the time. You can imagine the kind of workload that is lying down.”

He expressed his disappointment at the President’s kind gesture to Shatta Wale. He further described President Akufo-Addo as a birthday reporter.

If the President was serious, I would have expected the President to invite leaders of the country to come and sit with him and ask them 10 months into my government what has gone wrong? How can we help build Ghana rather than being a birthday reporter,” the former presidential candidate said.

Mr Ayariga indicates that the President has nothing to lose. This is because the Presidency has been offered to him as a retirement package.

Our President is 73 years old. The Presidency is a retirement package which he is enjoying. If you watch the President he is always laughing and smiling. He has nothing to lose,” he asserted.

The founder of the All People’s Congress described the President’s invitation to Shatta Wale as ‘unnecessary’.

It would seem that the brouhaha surrounding Shatta Wale’s visit to the President will not dying anytime soon.

However, art is important in every country. Therefore, it is right for the President to acknowledge the people in that industry. If the arts are ignored the lifeline of the country will be ignored as well.

Even though people have their reservations about the President’s actions, his action was commendable. This is because it has prompted other artistes to re-evaluate themselves.

Stonebwoy Also Requests To Meet President Nana Addo

Award-winning Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has also made his intentions known.

After Shatta Wale went to pay a courtesy call on the President Nana Addo, Stonebwoy has also made his interest to visit the Flagstaff House.

While he says he is proud of Shatta Wale’s achievement, he would also equally like to meet the president.

On Wednesday, Shatta Wale visited the president at the Flagstaff House after he received an invitation from the President.

Shatta Wale presented the President, during the visit on Wednesday, with the keys to the City of Worcester, Massachusetts which he received in July this year while on a tour in the United States.

President Akufo-Addo also presented the Dancehall artiste with a gift of Ghana’s Coat of Arms.

After seeing the pictures, Stonebwoy tweeted,

“Congrats To @shattawalegh 4 Taking TheKey To The Nation! #SuperProud @NAkufoAddo May I pls Know When To Come 4 Mine or Shatta You say Wetin?”

Shatta Wale replied to Stonebwoy’s tweet encouraging him to also go and meet the President.

“Chale bro no waste time ooo ..Go take yours you deserve it too …i told him what we talked about ..we good star!!!” he said.

As of now, there has been no response from the President. However, we are anticipating a response.

Prez Nana Addo Tweets To Invite Shatta Wale To Flagstaff House

As we all know, yesterday was the ‘Dancehall King’ Shatta Wale’s birthday. He got birthday wishes from many people across the country and particularly in the entertainment industry.

However, there was one person he did not think would tweet at him and certainly not in the manner the birthday wish happened.

Incidentally, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, went on Twitter to wish Shatta Wale a happy birthday.

The birthday wish surprisingly was written in pidgin English. He also used the tweet to invite Shatta to the Flagstaff House.

President Akufo-Addo tweeted: “Happy birthday @shattawalegh! You for come visit me for Flagstaff House o!”.

Before the President’s tweet, Shatta sent out a tweet to the President asking what he will get for his birthday. It seems the President’s invitation is the gift he would get.

For a while, we at Ghafla thought the President had been hacked and even former British High Commission, Jon Benjamin, pointed out the President’s use of pidgin. It seems that other Ghanaians on Twitter were surprised as well.

If you would remember, during the 2016 presidential campaign, Nana Addo revealed that he was a big fan of Shatta Wale.

His party the NPP also used Shatta Wale’s hit song ‘Kakai’ for their manifesto launch.

It remains to be seen whether Shatta Wale will honor the invitation of Nana Addo.

However, if he does visit the Flagstaff House, we would bring you the pictures.
