Yvonne cites:

Running is so spiritual for me.

She attests it all to her Le Husband who has journeyed with her all through and who is also her running buddy.

The year 2018 saw it rough for the spectacle after undergoing 2 surgeries although she reveals she is on her journey to recovery.

Over the 2018 Christmas festivities, the Citizen TV journalist shared:

However, she will not stop thanking the Almighty however burdened she has been as she expresses:

Dear God, Thank you for 2018!

It’s been a year of change, transition for me. Change in my health. I made significant moves to get fit and healthy, had surgery again.

But I’m getting back on the saddle.

Dear God, Thank you for 2018! It's been a year of change, transition for me. 1. Change of work place. When many thought I shouldn't. I'd established a brand. Tough as nails. Speaking truth to power. But I needed a change, to practise my journalism in a different way. I felt I had reached a ceiling and needed a change of pace. Many said, "There are too many stars over there, you'll get lost". God said to me, "You are My star. I'm going to change the way you impact people, no matter where you go, I've got you, trust Me" So I did. Loving the new challenge! The new audiences! The new approach. My journalism is about information, not affirmation! 2. Change through loss. How do you pick up the pieces when you lose a loved one who defined your life, your goals? We lost my Khotsa, who walked me down the aisle. My best friend, my father figure. I miss our chats on globalisation, politics, economy! Then we lost my father-in-law. Then my beloved brother. All this loss in 6 months! Learned who my real friends are, who sticks around for you in times like these and who doesn't. Who expects you to be there for them, but goes AWOL when you need them. Have leaned on God more this year than I have before. 3. Change in my health. I made significant moves to get fit and healthy, had surgery again. But I'm getting back on the saddle. Thank you God, for in all this, you've held my hand! I've never walked alone. 2019, no matter what changes come my way, I shall get through them as I have done this year! God's got me! He's got you too! What's your 2018 been like? What are you praying for in 2019? Drop me a line in the comments…

And into the new year:

Thank you God, for in all this, you’ve held my hand!

I’ve never walked alone.

2019, no matter what changes come my way, I shall get through them as I have done this year!

God’s got me! He’s got you too!

Further on, she has grieved losses after the deaths of her brother, uncle and her father-in-law.

All in all, the beauty still comes out robust to face her everyday blessing and thank the Almighty for the unending graces he has showered upon her life.

We do wish her quick recovery and the strength to surpass all obstacles along her way.
