¨Wanatafuta tu riziki yao!¨ Vivian comes to the defense of disputed Gengetone artists

Kenyan female music sensation, Vivian has come out in defense of controversial upcoming talents, the Gengetone artists.

Additionally slamming the Kenyan audience for back-lashing the fast-rising talents for music we consider ´immoral´.

In fact, when she started, she was not far from where they are and what they are doing. She believes this is their time and opportunity to grow and we can only support them.

Her Take

Vivian says ´condemning them is not good´ and her belief is that all these young artists are just trying to put food on the table, like you and I.

The song ni kama the songs I used to do nikianza career yangu and I cannot do the same song coz am in a different space. People grow. Ofcourse kuna vitu tunaweza rekebisha but banning these boys na kuwafungia milango, condemning them is not good. Haifai. Mi najua hivi wanatafuta riziki yao na tunafaa kuwaunderstand wako kwa space yao.

Vivian said she looks forward to meeting the Gengetone youth talents – they are also humans who need to meet their needs and probably, that is just who they are.

Ningetaka kuongea nao nijue what space they are in as people. Sometimes people forget wasanii pia ni watu na wako na challenges kadha, wako na maisha yao. Wako  na past, so ni vizuri kwanza tujue who they are so kutoka hapo nitaweza tuonge nao tujue why they are doing such music, siyo muziki mbaya sina shida nayo.

The ´Chum Chum´ singer reiterated that ´better the devil you know than the angel you don´t know´.

Unfortunately, she says that this is a habit most Kenyans have adopted.

Heri yule mtu ambaye ako real unakutana naye anakuambia ukweli yake kuliko yule mtu ni hypocrite na hii tabia wakenya wengi wako nayo sana.

However, her advice to such groups like ¨Ethic Entertainment¨, ¨Sailors¨ among others is:

Wanafaa kuyenyekea kidogo watafute wale watu wamekoma kimziki kwa ushauri, sai they are young and they will not be young forever one day watataka kuwa mzazi wa mtu sai wanafaa kucreate wealth and not hype. Wanafaa pia waangalie siku za usoni.
