Nigerian singer Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2 Face Idibia or 2Baba, has dropped a new jam and we are really feeling it.

The song dubbed Important talks about being positive and being strong when things seem impossible because you’ll get through it all.

Further, it encourages people who are dealing with situations that threaten to devalue them not to lose hope because they are worthy, special and important.

I really love this jam. Apart from the powerful message that it carries, you will agree with me that it’s very catchy and you are likely to have it on replay for the rest of the year – which is about six weeks.

Admittedly, I couldn’t understand many verses in the song because they were in Igbo but to be honest, even that was not going to stop me from enjoying this beautiful composition.

I also loved the beat and instrumentation on this jam. I could not resist the urge to dance as I was writing this review however much I tried.

The video which was directed by the one and only Clarence Peters was also on point. It opens up with stunning aerial shots showing expansive forests with gushing waters in the background.

This is followed by contrasting images of dancers clad in ebullient colors. African wax prints make a bold appearance in this music video amid shots taken in a local community where both children and elders gather around 2Baba.

In my opinion, the scenes work seamlessly together to support the overall theme of the track. To add to that, you will agree with me that the scene transitioning was really dope.

Watch Important below and tell us what you think.
