AFP journalist arrested for taking pictures inside president Uhuru’s Brookside Dairy (Photos)

Brookside Dairy  is among companies blacklisted by National Resistance Movement (NRM). Nasa instructed its followers to boycott services and products from listed companies that support Jubilee.

On Saturday November 4th Agence France-Press (AFP) was arrested for taking pictures inside Brookside company. Yasuyoshi Chiba was arrested by officers from Ruiru Police station for trespassing.

The foreign journalist was taking photos of the milk processor without permission from the management. Chiba, who is a Japanese citizen, was however released on a Kes 10,000 police bail.

The AFP journalist was on Monday November 6th produced before Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo.

The charging of Mr. Chiba was deferred by the Kiambu Court after his lawyer raised concerns that the charge sheet was defective. Lawyer Harun Ndubi who was appearing for the AFP journalist requested the court to defer the charge in order the anomaly in the charge sheet can be rectified.

The court also accepted lawyer’s request but also demanded that that the suspect deposit his passport in the court saying he was a flight risk
