Akothee Supports Eric Omondi In Claims Of Kenyan Artists Curtain-Raising For Other Artists Coming From Abroad

Entrepreneur and musician Esther Akoth, has defended Eric Omondi in stating that Kenyan artists receive ‘peanuts’ to curtain raise for artists coming from abroad to perform in Kenya. Akothee made her remarks on Eric Omondi’s post after the comedian clapped back at Bahati for scolding him following his comment on Kenyan music and it’s artists.

”Lakini Asante ya PUNDA ni MATEKE!!! @bahatikenya wewe ni PUNDA MLIA. After I RESCUED your ASS during your Album launch after Ezekiel Mutua alikutoka sasa uko na Kiburi ya kuniongelesha???

Your Album launch would not have happened without me, I sponsored the venue with my hard earned cash. You BEGGED me to appear in your Song Adhiambo and half of those views is because of me!!!”

Eric Omondi’s Wake-Up Call

Aside from locking horns with Bahati, this was Eric’s sentiments that got him in hot beef with Kenyan musicians;

”We are living in dark ages of Kenyan music. Tanzania wanatupiga na Nigeria. Nigerians are here every weekend, and Kenyan musicians have become curtain raisers. Wanalipwa 30K, wakienda backstage wanaskumwa. The industry is a disgrace. And I’m speaking to all the artists. We need to wake up.”

Akothee went ahead to support Eric Omondi as she revealed her rate card for performing.
