Size 8 did not have an easy time welcoming her first child to the world.

Just like most women who face complications at birth, hers was a bit different and life threatening for both her and Ladashabelle.

Speaking to Ebru TV’s Mummy 101 with Brenda Wairimu; Size 8 reveals that despite wanting to have a natural birth, her pressure would not allow. This is after learning about her mum’s condition which led her to worrying making her blood pressure rise.

“I wanted a natural birth but I had so many complications in my pregnancy. Pressure ilikuja na pregnancy, ikapanda mtoto karibu atoke. Nikaenda kupimwa it was 178 ndio they told me they can’t let me go because after 160 it’s dangerous.”

The baby heartbeat drops

Being a first time mum the doctors had to take caution but Size 8 was still convinced that she wanted a natural birth. The singer was then admitted and at around 4 am her medical team induced her to see if the baby’s way would open.

However, this did not work out and her blood pressure only made her weak.

It was then that the Doctors and her husband had to force her to undergo a CS section to save both her life and that of the baby’s since her heartbeat was dropping.

“They induced me because I was insisting I wanted a natural birth. So ikakataa kabisa. I was feeling pain but sina hata nguvu. Hiyo pressure ilikuwa imenimaliza nguvu. Niko in pain but si dilate. Heartbeat ya mtoto inateremka chini. I was forced to go for a CS and cried as I didn’t want a CS.”

During the surgery the obstetric gynae realized that the baby’s heartbeat was dropping due to the umbilical cord which was wrapped around her neck. To make matters worse, seems that Size 8’s pressure had affected the baby’s development as she was born weighing 1.7 Kgs.

Size 8’s mum passes away

Hours after the baby arrived, Size 8’s condition got worse and she passed on before meeting her grandchild.

She is however grateful since everything happens at its perfect timing. Though she lost her mother, she happened to receive the greatest gift in life.
