Why Pinye Is Back

The deejay who is credited for introducing Kenyan new generation showbiz music on TV back in the 90s says is back in the entertainment scene and happy about it.

In July, he joined DJ Adrian and DJ Nijo during a limited invites gig held at Club Clique on Ngong’ road and come Saturday this week; he will be back at the venue for another showdown that will also feature the other two old school deejays.

Asked why he had changed his mind and made a comeback, the deejay said this was a special gig that is close to his heart. He termed it as a ‘special contract’ affair.

“This is the only gig I am spinning. This is special to me. Adrian, Nijo and I are quite a pair. Am excited,” Pinye is quoted to have said.

“It is always good working with somebody like Pinye who understands what music is always about. This is the kind of experience that money can’t buy,” said DJ Nijo.

The Saturday event is a ‘reservations only’ event that will feature the media and other guests being booked in advance – due to Covid-19 restrictions.
