Diamond: I am not a man of big things, just look at the sandals I came to Kenya wearing. I don’t wear name brands like Gucci

Diamond Platnumz has dismissed claims he is a spendthrift contrary to popular belief. The Bongo singer spoke about his lifestyle upon touching down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ahead of his concert in Thika last Saturday.

Diamond was in Kenya over the past weekend to thrill fans in Thika in a concert that saw gospel and secular artistes share same stage.

The ‘Jibebe’ hit maker described himself as a simple man during an interview with K24 at JKIA. He insisted that he doesn’t spend his money in an extravagant and irresponsible way.

“I am not a man of big things, just look at the sandals I came wearing (pointing at his feet). I don’t wear name brands like Gucci, I am very simple. I am just a good musician,” said Diamond.

Diamond also claimed that Michael Jackson and Beyonce were the only musicians who could perform better than him on stage.

“When I get on stage, no musician is better than me. The only musician I feel can beat me on stage is Beyonce and or if Michael Jackson resurrects. Everyone else I beat hands down!!!”
