Diamond proudly tops CNN´s 10 Best African Artists List as the only East African artist

East African mover and shaker, Diamond Platnumz has carried the name higher. This time, he tops at the Best 3 African music stars on CNN´s list.

Friday, 22nd November 2019, CNN released a list of the ten Best African artistes of 2019.

Unfortunately, Kenya was nowhere close to smelling the top 10 list but I´m sure we did well.

Diamond came out strong in East Africa, as the only artiste to receive recognition in the territory.

Not just any recognition, he came out third, only beaten by Nigeria´s Burna Boy and Benin´s Angelique Kidjo.

Burna Boy´s success may be attributed to his successful year with African Giant album that now stands a chance to scoop the Grammy award.

On the other hand, Benin´s Angelique Kidjo doubles up as an activist in Benin and has clinched three Grammy´s in her career life.

Diamond then came in third, well-representing the East African territory and flying high his motherland´s flag.

Nigeria is one country that carried the day, listing 5 artistes from the land.

South Africa´s Sho Madjozi will be remembered for her International hit ¨John Cena¨ that shook the world.
