After his plight went viral, former NTV journalist Lolani Kalu has finally made a comeback into the lucrative media industry after landing a new TV role.

The multi-linguist and poet’s media career was tested after retiring from the Nation Media Group-owned TV station, where he worked as a journalist for 17 years, for special editions like Malimwengu. A move that eventually sank him into abject poverty.

Lolani lands lucrative TV job

However, all is not lost after the veteran bagged a new TV role as Coast Region reporter for Mount Kenya University-owned TV station, TV47. Where he is set to cover features on 6 counties.

Sources indicate that Lolani has signed a 1-year contract as the regional reporter with the TV station and will be based at the Mombasa bureau.

Before his plight went viral, Mr Lolani Kalu who left a major mark in the field of journalism and known for his unique voice, had languished in poverty in the village for a solid 3 years.

Lolani is one man who melted the hearts of Kenyans. With shows at NTV like Malimwengu na Lolani and Gumzo Mtaani that topped as one of the favorite TV shows in the industry at the time.

Shows he is set to revive during his time at TV47. Details regarding his exact date of return on our screens remain pending as discussions are still ongoing. But he thanks all his fans for their massive support.
