Fired or going back to TV? Citizen TV boss speaks on the fate of Jacque Maribe’s job if she is released on bail

Royal Media Services (RMS) has spoken about Jacque Maribe for the first time since she was arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Monica Kimani.

RMS Managing Director Wachira Waruru on Thursday October 25th said that Maribe is still their employee and supported her release on bail.

In an affidavit filed in court by Maribe’s lawyer, Royal Media vouched for her character and recommended for her admission to bail.

Wachira Waruru also indicated that the station had granted Maribe leave so that she can attend to personal issues. The prosecution had on Wednesday asked the judge to consider adding a clause on her bail barring her from anchoring news should she be released on bail next week.

State prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki argued that Maribe’s screen presence was likely to intimidate witnesses in the Monica Kimani’s murder case.
