Before the world got to know of Chantelle Grazioli; Eric Omondi had been secretly seeing Jacque Maribe after 5 years of good and genuine friendship.
Speaking to True Love Magazine, Maribe explained that they both fell in love with each other; and just like any normal couple, their relationship relationship started getting serious. This is probably because they had been friends for long…but hey it happened!
Eric and I were very good friends for about five years before we made the decision to cross that line and start dating
Maribe opens up in details
However after dating for a couple of months, Jacque Maribe got pregnant; but was not really sure whether Eric Omondi was ready for this chapter. The news anchor however went on to add that they both had a serious talk which she suggested raising the baby alone; judging from the kind of life Eric lived back then.
By the time we realized that we were expecting, I was very excited. I really wanted a baby and had gone through all the motions of trying to get one. I was at a space where this was what I wanted and was genuinely actively working towards it.
According to Maribe, at the time Eric had been juggling his career and women – something Maribe was not ready to put up with. She went on to add;
But I think for Eric and his career, he wasn’t very sure about the path he should take. Like do we do this and have a baby together? Not speaking ill of him, but at that time he had this ‘ladies man’ image, there was no space for a child in that mix,” said Ms Maribe.
Having been linked to several politicians including Dennis Itumbi; Jacque went on to reveal that one of Eric’s friends ended up leaking who the baby’s father was – which forced Eric to distance himself from her. She added;
“People had a field day guessing, saying he was Dennis’ child, some said it was some politician’s kid, until one of Eric’s friends let it out that we had been dating. So when he was put on the spot, he jumped ship,”
