“I didn’t have any idea there was such a list” Mbusi defends state commendation awarded to him by president Uhuru

The Head of States Commendation (HSC) was marked by controversy when the list was published on December 12th. Kenyans were furious after seeing some of the names receiving state commendation.

Most people argued that president Uhuru only feted people who support him. Kenyans for instance wondered by Githeri Man received the coveted state commendation.

Dennis Itumbi, Robert Alai, Ben Githae, Rufftone were among the celebs who received state commendation. Ben Githae was also forced to defend himself against claims that he was feted because he composed the Jubilee party campaign song ‘Tano Tena’

I didn’t expect the special recognition

Mbusi also received the head of states commendation. The radio presenter reveals the prestigious prize took him by surprise.

“Kwanza nafeel nikiwa Irie kwa mawingu ya juu kabisa! I didn’t expect the special recognition because I did not have any idea there was such a list. Funny thing, I actually never made an appearance either at Kasarani Stadium or State House,” said Mbusi while speaking on Radio Jambo.

Mbusi hopes the HSC will open doors of opportunities for him. He says the state recognition might help him secure gigs with corporate bodies.

“There are corporate gigs that I wasn’t lucky enough to secure, and maybe this special recognition will just but open doors. 2017 I would say since I started out as a presenter has been my best year yet,” said Mbusi.
