It’s raining money! Michael Olunga’s face glows after signing a deal that will see him earn Kes 15 million a month (Photos)

Harambee Star striker Micheal Olunga was the first Kenyan to play in La Liga when he joined Girona FC on a loan from Chinese side Guizou Zhicheng.

Olunga is once again the first Kenyan to play in Japanese J-League, the Kenyan international has been signed by top tier Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol.

“New Roads, New Rivers, New Chapter Beginning of another unfolded history @kashiwareysol_official,” wrote Olunga on Instagram.

Value decreases but salary increases

Kashiwa Reysol paid Kes 300 million to sign Olunga from Guizou Zhicheng. The Chinese side however paid Kes 400 million in January 2017 to sign Olunga from Swedish side Djurgarden IF.

Olunga’s salary has however increased with Kes 5 million. The Harambee Stars forward will now pocket Kes 15 million a month during his three-year stay at Kashiwa Reysol.

Olunga is the second highest paid Kenyan footballer after Tottenham Hotspur’s Victor Wanyama who pockets a cool Kes 22 million a month.
