Mariga to Kenyans: Jubilee is not using me. I want to help Kibra

Famous footballer McDonald Mariga has urged Kenyans to stop claiming that he’s being used by Jubilee Party after announcing that he’s also after Kibra’s seat.

Mariga hopes to replace the late Ken Okoth in Kibra but many were quick to claim he shouldn’t run for MP. The footballer, however, said that he was also born there and all he wants is to help the residents.

“I was raised her [Kibra] in Karanja, I know how it is like to live in a slum. I’m not being used by anyone. I want to give back to the community.” Mariga said.

Change

Mariga went on to say running for office will not affect his football fans because he just wants to make a change in the community.

“It won’t interfere at all with my stature. Running for office is a decision I came to after a lengthy discussion with my family. It is also my way of giving back to the community.” he said.
