Mike Sonko’s special message as he celebrates 21 years in marriage!
Governor Mike Sonko and wife have marked 21 years of their marriage; and to celebrate this milestone, the popular politician went on to share a special message on his social media pages.
In his message, Mike Sonko used president Pierre Nkurunziza and his wife Denise Nkurunziza as an example to explain what true love means. He went on to state that these two had a humble beginning but through perseverance and hardwork; they got to rule a country for years.
Through his instagram page, Sonko wrote;
As I celebrate my 21st marriage anniversary today with my wife Primrose, I would like to encourage all the young couples to emulate the late President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza and his 1st Girlfriend Denise Nkurunziza who until his death was his wife and the 1st Lady of Burundi. The two as evident in the attached photos have been living together in a single room as a couple for so many years.
He went on to preach the importance of a couple living together and starting a family. To him, family is sacred and couples from this generation should stop letting small disagreements tear their families apart.
They later grew together in love and became the First Family of Burundi. Marriage is sweet and lovely. Don’t let little disagreements break up your families. Ladies, be patient with your man as he hustles. Stick by him, support him as much as possible.
Respect your spouses
Having been married for 21 years, Sonko went on to add that poverty should not be the reason families break; the governor used Raila Odinga’s situation where he remained locked up for years and his wife remained faithful to him. He went on to say;
Nanyinyi wanaume respect your girlfriend/wife. Unaweza lala njaa siku kadha. Do not leave him because he is broke or in prison. When Raila Odinga was in detention Ida Odinga didn’t dump him, also when I was in Prison my wife Primrose never left me.
Among those he appreciated is Vice president William Ruto and president Uhuru who have been with their wives since day 1.
