Musician Dudu Baya banned after mocking late media boss Ruge Mutahaba 

Tanzanian singer, Godfrey Tumaini, aka Dudu Baya has gotten himself in an unexpected ban list after sharing his sentiments online.

The controversial singer took to instagram to explicitly criticize the late Ruge Mutahaba, CEO and co-founder of Clouds Media. His comments were not taken lightly by regulatory board BASATA which banned and deregistered him.

In an official letter, BASATA said that the singer will not release any music following his ugly comments.

“BASATA, a body equipped with the mandate to oversee arts in the country has canceled the registration of musician Godfrey Tumaini aka Dudu Baya effective Thursday, February 28 2019,” the statement said.

In the series of about 5 videos, the singer claimed that Mutahaba shouldn’t be treated as a hero because he wasn’t. He tore his legacy apart accusing him of all kind of things including killing the dreams of many young artists.

Baya’s predicament came just days after he took to Instagram and shared countless video talking ill of the late Ruge.
