Prophet Dr. David Edward Owour is the most learned preacher in Kenya. Owour quit a successful career in science to serve the Lord.
Forget the bushy beard, appearances can be really deceiving. Most people thought Prophet Owour was among those preachers who came from their villages claiming to have been ‘touched’.
Prophet Owour is among the most educated people in the whole of Kenya. Apart from preaching, Owour is also a Molecular Geneticist by profession.
He studied Chemical Engineering
Prophet Owour has an extensive academic background. He studied Chemical Engineering before doing an MSc in Genetics.
The Man of God did his PhD at Ben Gurion University, Haifa, Israel. Owour was offered appointment in two leading institutions of Medicine in the US after his study in Israel.
UMDN and UIC offer Owour jobs
Owour first job offer came from The Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDN).
The other job offer was from the Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Prophet Owour took up the position of Post-Doctoral associate at UIC.
He got deeply involved in research and teaching within the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of UIC College of Pharmacy.
The Kenyan preacher worked in the area of Drug Metabolism and specifically specialized in Signal Transduction by Cancer Chemotherapeutic Drugs.
Owour quits science to serve God
David Owour was called to serve the Lord in 2003. He left everything behind and started a new life from scratch. The servant of the Lord looked like a beggar in 2003 when he started preaching. See the photos below:
