Kenya has greatly improved in the music industry in recent years. Music is actually one of the sectors which is surviving in the entertainment industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though there are no events for musicians, the industry hasn’t suffered a lot, compared to other sectors. Becoming a famous artist is not a walk in the park. Listening to most artist’s story, they tarmacked for some years before getting to the top.

One of them is rapper Breeder LW. The immensely talented singer has even been compared to Khaligraph Jones and termed as his ‘heir’. Anyway, the singer has disclosed his love for music, and claims that it was tough for him before reaching where he is now. He wrote;

Music means a lot to me… I kept the faith, hard work and consistency to get to where I am right now.

When I started out as an up and coming rapper it was so hard to just get your music heard. Getting studio time and fees was nearly impossible. No one to coach you, guide you, mentor you, hold your hand and show you any form of light at the end of the tunnel. All I had was a burning desire and passion that prompted me to grasp every opportunity I got, I would make sure I did my best be it in cyphers, rap battles, freestyles or any songs I was featured in. I put myself in the game and eventually my persistence paid off…”

Breeder has now done several collabos with artists such as rapper Khaligraph Jones and he’s making it big in the industry. Hardwork indeed pays!
