Ruto’s worst nightmare becomes reality as Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirms Weston Hotel is built on its land

What started as a joke has turned into something really serious! Economist David Ndii on Monday August 13th called on president Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure Weston Hotel which is linked to deputy president William Ruto is demolished to get back grabbed public land.

Well, it turns out David Ndii is right. Apparently the plot occupied by deputy president William Ruto’s Weston Hotel is a grabbed land that belongs to Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).

Trying our best to repossess our land

In an interview with the Star, KCAA executive director Gilbert Kibe publicly stated that the plot on Langata Road that Weston Hotel sits on is among hundreds of parcels that it wants to reclaim.

“All I can tell you is that we are trying our best to repossess our land. We are in court with several cases and the rest is with National Land Commission. Yes, Weston Hotel is part of the land but the case is with NLC,” Gilbert Kibe told the Star.

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday August 14th assured Kenyans that all buildings including Weston Hotel that are built on grabbed public land and riparian land will all be demolished.
