Shocking footage of GSU officers clobbering female Nairobi University students in their hostel

University of Nairobi (UoN) and Technical University of Kenya (TUK) students engaged General Service Unit (GSU) in running battles on Thursday September 28th as they protested the arrest of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

The anti-riot police officers lobbed teargas canisters and used water cannons to disperse the irate students who are demanding the immediate release of Babu Owino.

University Way, Uhuru Highway, Haile Selassie Avenue and Lower State House Road were battle zones as the students engaged the police in running battles.

GSU officers raided UoN hostels to round up students who had sought refuge there. Videos doing rounds on social media show GSU officers making students to crouch, squat or hop as they flashed them out of the hostels.

In another shocking footage, the GSU officers are seen clobbering female students who were lying on the ground inside campus hostel.
