Ababu Namwamba Gifts Elsa Majimbo, She Reacts

Kenyan Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba met with rising star comedian Elsa Majimbo in a heartwarming exchange captured on video. The CS took the opportunity to gift Elsa with some delightful Kenyan treasures, bringing a smile to her face.

In the video, Namwamba presents Elsa with a vibrant Maasai blanket, a box of Kenyan tea bags, and a pack of locally sourced coffee. Elsa’s excitement shines through as she recognizes the familiar tea brand, exclaiming, “Let me tell you, I use the one in a tin and mine just ended!”

The CS’s thoughtful gesture extends beyond just material gifts. He takes the time to introduce Elsa to the tea manufacturer, highlighting the homegrown aspect of the present. This personal touch deepens the connection and showcases the pride both share in Kenyan products.

Elsa’s appreciation doesn’t stop there. She enthusiastically declares, “Java coffee, the best coffee!” as she receives the fragrant beans, enjoying their aroma. She proudly acknowledges the tea, saying, “Our tea. I have been drinking this tea for 22 years.” This shared laughter reflects a sense of national pride and cultural connection.

The final surprise comes in the form of the cozy Maasai blanket, perfectly suited for the chilly weather. As Namwamba wraps her in the blanket, Elsa beams with delight, playfully adding, “I look like a proper Kenyan too!”

The video concludes with Elsa expressing her gratitude for the thoughtful gifts, especially appreciating the Talanta Hela branding on the bag, a Kenyan sports initiative. This encounter transcends a simple gift exchange, becoming a symbol of support and national pride.

Nurses Union Condemns Woman Involved In Hospital Attack Who Name Dropped Ababu Namwamba

The National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNA-Kenya) has vehemently condemned a recent attack on a nurse at Port Victoria Hospital in Busia County. In a statement, the association’s president, Collins Ajwang, called the incident a “savage and unprovoked attack” and demanded swift action against the perpetrator.

Clarifying the Offender: Ajwang clarified that the assailant was not a student nurse, as initially reported. “Nurses undergo rigorous training in professionalism and respect,” he emphasized. “We have since identified the individual as a theatre technician student from Nairobi Women’s Hospital, currently on rotation at KUTRRH Theatre.”

Demanding Accountability: The NNA-Kenya urged relevant authorities, including regulatory bodies, to take immediate action and address the incident with the severity it deserves. “We are actively seeking remedial measures to support the affected nurse and prevent similar acts in the future,” Ajwang affirmed.

Legal Action and Professional Conduct: The statement further expressed appreciation towards the targeted nurse and other healthcare workers for maintaining composure in the face of the assault. “We are collaborating with legal institutions to ensure a thorough investigation and appropriate legal action against the perpetrator,” Ajwang stated.

Disturbing Details: Briefly describing the viral video, the statement mentioned the presence of a man and a woman verbally abusing two nurses. The woman was seen disrupting the work environment, throwing objects, and hurling insults. At one point, she threatened to call someone identified as “Ababu,” prompting her companion to make a frantic phone call claiming an emergency.

Ababu Namwamba Denounces Threats Against Healthcare Workers From Woman Who Name Dropped Him

Following a viral video showing a woman threatening nurses and invoking a prominent politician’s name, CS Ababu Namwamba has issued a strong statement condemning the incident and distancing himself from the individual’s actions.

“My values and commitment to public service stand firmly against such intimidation and disrespect towards healthcare workers,” stated Namwamba. “I unequivocally condemn any behavior that violates principles of integrity and professionalism.”

He assured the public that the incident is under investigation and that swift action will be taken to address any wrongdoing. “My dedication to serving the community remains unwavering, and I am committed to rebuilding trust through transparency and corrective measures,” he added.

The incident has also drawn condemnation from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU). “This behavior is not only illegal and immoral, but it also creates a hostile environment for healthcare workers who dedicate themselves to serving the community,” said Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah, National Secretary-General of KMPDU. “We demand that the perpetrators be held accountable, and that the safety of healthcare workers be prioritized.”

Ababu Namwamba redirects Sanaipe Tande’s question about money to Kalasha Awards team

Following criticism from artists and concerns over delayed payments, the promised prize money for the 12th edition of the Kalasha International Film and TV Awards is finally moving forward.

Sports and Arts Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba confirmed that the funds have been dispersed to the Kenya Film Commission (KFC). He assured the public that the money is “safely” with the commission and will be released to the winners soon.

Timothy Owase, CEO of KFC, echoed Namwamba’s statement, confirming receipt of the funds and stating that they will begin disbursing the money next week.

This comes after several artists, including singer Sanaipei Tande and costume designer Fatuo Hassan, publicly expressed their disappointment and frustration regarding the delay in prize money payment.

The initial award amount of Sh100,000 per winner was doubled by Namwamba during the awards ceremony, raising expectations and further amplifying the disappointment when the money failed to materialize.

With the funds now in the hands of the KFC and a confirmed disbursement plan in place, the Kalasha Award winners can finally expect to receive their long-awaited prize money. This positive development will hopefully restore faith and confidence in the awards program and its commitment to recognizing and rewarding Kenyan talent.

Ababu Namwamba Gifts Veteran Media Personality Leonard Mambo Mbotela Sh. 1 Million

Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs and Sports Ababu Namwamba recently visited veteran media personality Leonard Mambo Mbotela at his home in Nairobi. Namwamba shared photos of the visit on his social media accounts, and netizens were delighted to see the two icons together.

During the visit, Namwamba presented Mbotela with his Hongera Award and Sh. 1 million in recognition of his contribution to the nation. Namwamba also praised Mbotela for his work as a journalist and commentator, noting that he was a “national hero of all time.”

“What a special blessing to visit with and drink  from the fountain of wisdom of this incredible national hero of all time, the ever-green, irrepressible colossus Leonard Mambo Mbotela, he of the peerless “Je, huu ni ungwana” fame,” Namwamba posted on his official X social media account.

Namwamba also discussed his plans to take Kenyan football back to its golden days. He said that he was inspired by Mbotela’s work as a football commentator, and he promised to “elevate the sporting world in Kenya.”

“Live long, Shujaa! We have walked down memory lane to the dizzying times when football radio broadcasts were magical, when Kenyans thronged stadia to cheer their favourite teams, turning every match into a stirring carnival atmosphere.

I am even more determined to take Kenyan football and the rest of our sports to heights never witnessed before. Twende stadi naniii,” the last of his post read.

Netizens commended Namwamba for taking time to visit Mbotela, and they also urged him to keep his promises about nurturing the youth and elevating sports in Kenya.

Sports CS Ababu Namwamba Defends Talanta Hela App Delays

Cabinet Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Ababu Namwamba has defended delays in the activation of the Talanta Hela app, saying that it is due to procurement delays.

Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Namwamba said that the app is ready, but it has not yet been released to the public because the screening room that will be used to identify and nurture talent is still under construction.

“The app is yet to go live due to a challenge that caused a delay in the completion of the screening room. The screening centre suffered procurement delays and we have been given up to September 4, 2023,” he said.

Namwamba also clarified that the Talanta Hela initiative, which was launched by President William Ruto on June 9, 2023, is a multi-faceted program that includes the app, a tournament, and a national talent camp. He said that the app is just one part of the initiative, and that the other components are already underway.

However, Uasin Gishu Woman Representative and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei criticized Namwamba for inviting the President to launch the app even though it did not exist. She said that she had confirmed that the app is not available in the App Store or Play Store.

Shollei also alleged that Namwamba has neglected sportsmen and women representing the country in international events. She said that rogue ministry officials have taken the space supposed to be reserved for athletes, and that the CS has not taken any action to address the problem.

“I have hosted them (athletes) at my house because the CS is not bothered. They have told me some of the horror stories what happens to them; they fly economy while ministry officials fly business class, and sometimes they have layovers of up to 14 hours,” she said.

Namwamba has denied these allegations, saying that he is committed to supporting Kenyan athletes. He said that the ministry is working to improve the conditions for athletes, and that he will investigate the allegations of rogue officials.

The Talanta Hela initiative is a government program aimed at promoting sports talent among the youth. The app is designed to allow coaches and scouts to identify and nurture talent across the country. The tournament and national talent camp are also designed to provide opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills.

The delays in the activation of the Talanta Hela app have been met with criticism from some quarters. However, Namwamba has said that the app is still in development, and that it will be released to the public as soon as possible.

Sports CS Ababu Namwamba Rejects Calls to Resign

Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has rejected calls to resign from his position, despite facing allegations of mismanagement and neglect of duty.

Namwamba, who was grilled by Members of Parliament last week, said that he is doing a good job and that there is no reason for him to step down.

He also said that he is not aware of any joyriders accompanying official delegations to sporting events.

Namwamba’s critics have accused him of failing to attend to athletes who represented Kenya at the Berlin Games, and of neglecting his duties at the ministry.

However, Namwamba has defended his record, saying that he inherited a “mess” at the ministry and that he is working to turn things around.

He has also said that he is willing to appear before Parliament to answer any questions that MPs may have.

The allegations against Namwamba come at a time when the Ministry of Sports is facing a number of challenges, including the suspension of Kenya by FIFA.

Namwamba has said that he is committed to resolving these challenges and that he will not be distracted by the calls for his resignation.

In the meantime, the matter is likely to be debated in Parliament in the coming days.

Youth and Sports CS Ababu Namwamba apologizes to MPs after questioning their knowledge

Youth and Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba was forced to apologize to MPs on Wednesday after he questioned their knowledge of alleged mismanagement at his ministry.

The apology came after a heated debate in the National Assembly, where MPs accused Namwamba of being condescending and disrespectful.

The debate was sparked by a letter that Namwamba had written to the Speaker of the National Assembly, in which he alleged that MPs were only interested in hearsay and had no real understanding of the issues at the ministry.

The letter angered MPs, who accused Namwamba of trying to undermine their oversight role.

In his apology, Namwamba said that he had written the letter in “bad faith” and that he respected the role of Parliament.

He also said that he would withdraw the letter and cooperate with MPs in their investigations into the alleged mismanagement at the ministry.

The apology was accepted by the Speaker, who said that it was important for all parties to work together to ensure that public funds were used effectively.

In a separate development, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah said that he would hold all Cabinet Secretaries to account, regardless of their political affiliation.

Ichung’wah said that he was not a “brief holder” for any Cabinet Secretary and that his role was to ensure that they were accountable to the people.

He said that he would do this with “gusto and energy”, just like a member of the minority party.

The apology from Namwamba and the comments from Ichung’wah are a sign that the National Assembly is taking its oversight role seriously.

It is also a sign that the government is willing to cooperate with Parliament in order to ensure that public funds are used effectively.

Beleagured Ababu Namwamba Faces Heat Over Failed Talanta Hela App

The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts, Ababu Namwamba, has been under fire this week for the mishandling of his ministry’s Talanta Hela initiative.

The Talanta Hela app was launched in June to help Kenyans with skills in sports and other creative industries connect with potential sponsors. However, the app is currently unavailable, and the ministry has not given a clear explanation for why.

In an interview with Kenyans.co.ke, the ministry’s head of communication, Pauline Sheghu, said that the app was put on hold because the Talanta Hela Committee was dissolved in June. She said that the app would be operational once the committee is reconstituted.

However, Sheghu’s explanation has not satisfied critics, who say that the app should have been launched properly in the first place. They also point to other problems with the ministry, such as the neglect of sportsmen and women representing Kenya in international events.

Uasin Gishu woman representative and Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss has been one of the most vocal critics of Namwamba. She has accused him of mishandling Kenyan athletes and of failing to provide adequate support for the Talanta Hela initiative.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has also backed a move to have Namwamba summoned before the National Assembly to answer questions about his handling of the ministry.

The pressure on Namwamba is likely to continue in the coming days. He will need to provide a more satisfactory explanation for the problems with the Talanta Hela app and other issues in his ministry.

In addition to the Talanta Hela app, Namwamba has also been criticized for the following:

  • Neglecting sportsmen and women representing Kenya in international events.
  • Failing to provide adequate support for the creative industries.
  • Mismanaging the ministry’s finances.

It remains to be seen whether Namwamba will be able to weather the storm and retain his position as Cabinet Secretary. However, the current situation is certainly not good for him.

Kenyan MPs Grill Sports CS Ababu Namwamba Over Mismanagement Allegations

Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, the Arts and Sports Ababu Namwamba has been grilled by Members of Parliament from Kenya Kwanza over his perceived failures in the management of sports in the country.

The MPs, led by Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, accused Namwamba of mismanaging the sports docket and failing to provide adequate support to Kenyan athletes.

Shollei cited the hardships that Kenyan athletes have faced at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, as an example of Namwamba’s failures. She said that the athletes have been made to fly economy class while ministry officials fly business class and first class.

She also said that the athletes have been given fake uniforms and shoes, and that doping is rampant in the country.

Cherargei and Ichung’wah echoed Shollei’s sentiments, and called for Namwamba to be summoned to Parliament to answer to the allegations against him.

Namwamba has denied the allegations, and said that he is committed to providing the best possible support to Kenyan athletes. He said that he is working to address the challenges that the athletes are facing, and that he is confident that Kenya will continue to be a leading force in sports.

The grilling of Namwamba is the latest in a series of controversies that have dogged the sports docket in recent months. In May, the Ministry of Sports was criticized for its handling of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which was held in Cameroon.

The tournament was marred by violence and poor organization, and Kenya’s team was eliminated in the group stage.

The allegations against Namwamba have raised concerns about the state of sports in Kenya. The country has a long and proud history of sporting success, but it is clear that there are serious problems that need to be addressed.

The grilling of Namwamba is a step in the right direction, but it is only the beginning. The government needs to take concrete steps to improve the management of sports in Kenya, and to ensure that the athletes have the support they need to succeed.

Talanta Hela launch preparations on course despite court order

Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts, Mr Ababu Namwamba, has said that preparations for the launch of the Talanta Hela programme are on course, despite a court order suspending the process.

Namwamba spoke on Tuesday after chairing a meeting of the planning committee to assess the readiness for the official launch of the programme by President William Ruto on June 2, 2023.

“We are collaborating with the Ministry of Education as well as the Ministry of ICT to ensure that we are able to identify talents from schools and the communities from all corners of our republic,” Namwamba said.

The Talanta Hela programme is a flagship project of the Kenya Kwanza government that aims at monetizing talent using existing government institutions, including the Kenya Academy of Sports and Kenya Film School.

The programme has been met with mixed reactions, with some people supporting it and others criticizing it.

Those who support the programme argue that it will help to identify and nurture talent in Kenya. They also argue that it will help to create jobs and boost the economy.

Those who criticize the programme argue that it is a waste of money and that it will not be effective. They also argue that it is a political gimmick.

The court order suspending the process of launching the Talanta Hela programme was issued by the High Court in Nairobi on May 19, 2023.

The order was issued in response to a petition filed by a group of Kenyans who argued that the programme was unconstitutional.

The petitioners argued that the programme violates the right to equality and the right to education.

They also argued that the programme is a waste of public resources.

The government has said that it will appeal the court order.

The launch of the Talanta Hela programme is a major undertaking for the Kenya Kwanza government.

The success of the programme will depend on a number of factors, including the availability of resources, the quality of implementation, and the support of the public.

From impregnating his uncle’s wife to sleeping with niece and watchman’s daughter! Family members reveal the dark side of Ababu Namwamba

Ababu Namwamba’s uncle, cousin and a Catholic priest have come out to expose him. Their revelations describe a randy man who get in incestuous relationships for sexual gratification.

A shocking story on the Nairobian reveals the dark side of the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Ababu Namwamba.

Daniel Namwamba (Ababu’s uncle), Engineer Johnson Wasimba (Ababu’s cousin) and Father David Olusi reveal some of the sickening things Ababu Namwamba has ever done.

Ababu Namwamba
Impregnate uncle’s wife

Daniel Namwamba says Ababu impregnated the wife of Johnny Namwamba – his other uncle. Daniel reveals that the family only discovered this while Ababu was a student at UoN.

Daniel further reveals that Johnny’s wife Margaret later on left her husband. She gave birth to a girl.

“Ababu was then a high school student at Kolanya Boys. We realised what had happened when Ababu was at the university,” said Daniel.

 Sleeping with niece

Daniel also reveals that Ababu slept with his own niece. He says the former Budalang’i MP was living with his sister Agnes (while he was a student at UoN in 1995) when he received disturbing reports from her daughter (Ababu’s niece).

The matter was settled at the family level. Ababu fled and found refuge in his uncle Daniel’s house in Nairobi’s Huruma estate for eight months.

“I was drinking at a popular bar in the city when Agnes’ husband came looking for me. He was angry and told me that he had been looking for Ababu, whom he understood was living in my house. He insisted that I had to take him to my house, which was rather worrying as it was very late at night. Then he showed me a Somali sword that he was carrying. But I prevailed upon him to drop his intentions. I could not believe the shocking news and couldn’t wait to get home to kick out Ababu from my house. Fortunately, he got a hostel and moved out,” says Daniel.

Avoid your uncle

Ababu cousin Engineer Johnson Wasimba tells the Nairobian that he has blacklisted the Foreign Affairs CAS from his daughters.

“I have daughters in university, and never in my life did I think I would tell my children to avoid their uncle. But yes, I have warned my daughters to avoid Ababu. No one is safe around him. People are afraid to speak about these things, yet they know it’s wrong. They are afraid because they are poor and take handouts from Ababa,” says Johnson Wasimba.

Impregnate watchman’s daughter

Father Davis Olusi claims that Ababu Namwamba knocked up his watchman’s daughter. The Father says Ababu’s immorality must be condemned without any fear.

“I know he impregnated his watchman’s daughter. This type of immorality must be condemned,” says Father Davis Olusi .

Budalang’i MP Raphael Bita Wanjala is trending thanks to his barb on his predecessor. Wanjala took a swipe at Ababu Namwamba after meeting him in Nairobi.

Raphael Wanjala floored Ababu Namwamba in the August 8th general election. Wanjala (ODM) won with 11, 182 votes which represents 44.06% of the votes cast. Ababu managed to garner 9,795 votes or 36.95% of votes cast.
