Three months ago, Harmonize raised eyebrows when he failed to shake hands with Alikiba during the burial ceremony for socialite Agnes Masogange.
In a video clip that went viral, Diamond is seen extending his hands to Alikiba for a handshake whereas Harmonize shakes hands with other mourners then sits next to Kiba without shaking hands with him.
Ommy Dimpoz underwent a major surgery in South Africa sometimes in June this year. The Bongo singer developed serious complications on his throat while attending Alikiba’s wedding in Mombasa.
In his first interview since the surgery, Ommy Dimpoz said Mombasa governor Hassan Joho noticed he had difficulties swallowing food or any drink at Alikiba’s wedding, and that he took him to see his personal doctor.
“Governor Joho noticed that I was having problems swallowing food during Alikiba’s wedding in Mombasa. I could barely swallow anything. He offered to take me to his personal doctors for checkup,” said Ommy Dimpoz.

Delicate surgery
Ommy Dimpoz was flown to South Africa after the doctor told him his condition was critical. He went under the knife to have his esophagus rectified his all the way from his throat.
The whole operation took 12 long hours and despite being successful Ommy Dimpoz was left into a coma. He spent spent close to two months recuperating.
“When I woke up, I was informed I had been into a coma for nine days. It was a major operation all the way down to my stomach,” said Ommy Dimpoz.

Ommy Dimpoz now plans to fly to Mombasa to recuperate there until he fully recovers. The Bongo singer is forever grateful to Joho for the help he offered him.

Speaking during an interview with E FM’s Esport, Coastal Union F.C. chairman Steven Mguto confirmed the club was in talks with Alikiba to sign him.
The chairman however couldn’t divulge more details until the deal is done. He explained the club understand Kiba is a talented footballer even though he has no experience playing in a professional league.

Diamond Platnumz and Alikiba’s beef dates back to early 2012. The two singers were about to work together for a collabo but something went wrong.
Back in 2012, Alikiba was the most sought after singer in Tanzania. Diamond was still struggling to establish his mark in the industry, he even reached out to Alikiba for a collabo just to gain mileage.
Speaking during an interview on Kwanza TV, Alikiba disclosed that trouble with Diamond started when Simba approached him and requested to be featured in his hit song ‘Single Boy’.
Alikiba dropped ‘Single Boy’ featuring Lady JayDee sometimes in May 2012. The song was however leaked before the video had been released.

Alikiba reveals that Diamond approached him and requested to be featured in the song after the audio was leaked. He further claims that Diamond disrespected him when he turned him down.
“There was a day he wronged me. I always support every artist in Tanzania and I don’t deny he (Diamond) sings well. Some new fans who don’t know the story will obviously side with Diamond, I never thought of doing a song with him but he called me after the song ‘Single Boy’ leaked. I had already collaborated with Lady JayDee on the song. He told me he would like to feature on the song, and that he already had a concept for the music video. But I told him I preferred the song to have a single boy single girl theme rather than two male artists,” Alikiba explained.

Beef commences
Alikiba claims that Diamond went on to tell bloggers that he (Alikiba) had deleted his (Diamond’s) verse from the song. Kiba says that he confronting Diamond about the issue and he denied going to blogs with the false reports.
“Around a week later, I hear from blogs that I had deleted his verses from the song when they were never there,” said Alikiba.

Alikiba says he is happy that Diamond went on to become Tanzania’s most successful singer. Kiba asserts that he is not a fan of Diamond though he admits that some of his songs are dope.
“I’m happy his music picked up. He is representing our country. He is very hardworking and sometimes I’m also a fan of good music. I’m not a fan of Diamond but I will say there are some songs he has done very well,” Alikiba said.

Diamond and his entourage walked into the venue late when the burial ceremony was well under way, he walked to the dais where Alikiba was seated and shook his hands amid cheers from mourners.
Critics interpreted the handshake differently. Some people claim Alikiba was reluctant to shake hands with Diamond as he only extended his fist instead of palm when greeting his rival.

“Isitoshe mwanangu bado ni mdogo hajafikisha umri wa miaka saba bado ndiyo maana nikaona ni vyema kukaa na mwanangu kwa kuwa nilikuwa siridhishwi na malezi aliyokuwa akipata, nikaongea na baba yake, nikamchukua mtoto wangu na hapo ndipo mambo yalipobadilika,” said Hadija Hassan.
