Daddy Owen is back with ‘Mwokozi’ alongside Washington Libango and it’s fire (Video)

Celebrated gospel singer Owen Mwatia, popularly known as Daddy Owen, has dropped a new jam with Washington Libango who hails from Congo.

The song titled Mwokozi talks about how God is always on our side to lead us as we journey through life with all the challenges that we might encounter along the way.

As you would expect, this song has some elements of Lingala thanks to Washington Libango but it does not come close to System Ya Kapungala. That was a classic.

As I was listening to this song, I kept wondering what happened to Daddy Owen. Clearly, he has lost his mojo. He’s no longer the Papa Fololo that we all knew.

To be honest, this song would be really flat if Washington Libango was not in it. The Lingala element has brought life to this jam otherwise, no one would waste time listening to it.

I loved the choreography by Aggie The Dancer and the Sarakasi Dancers. Perhaps, that is why I played it a couple of times. Other than that, there’s nothing to write home about this song.

The video was directed by Brian Mhando (Onfon Media) and produced by Phil Makanada at Mainswitch Studios. In my opinion, their work was average, there’s nothing stellar about the video or the audio.

Watch Mwokozi below and tell us what you think.
