It seems former Harambee Stars captain and Nantes FC striker Dennis Oliech and his longtime girlfriend Paulah Mumia might be undergoing a rocky phase judging from a bunch of screenshots shared by Mumia on social media.

The two lovers made news late 2018 after hitting an exotic trip at the Masaai Mara that saw them cough up 160k a night to enjoy nature and escape the city hassles.

Things however might not be romantic anymore as the pictures of them enjoying the trip shared on social in November might have suggested. Mumia took to social media to share some bitter words that many believe were directed to Oliech.

Dumped after the money

Mumia, who is a producer at K24, said that she has been with this man( most likely Oliech) through his toughest period only for him to dump her after he got some money.

Well, we all now the 33-year-old Oliech has just landed a KSh350,000 a month deal with Gor Mahia. The deal is expected to last two years. His signing fee is reported to be worth more than Sh3 million, which will be paid in two installments according to his representatives.

Before the deal, the popular footballer has found himself in headlines linking him to brokenness but has never addressed the rumors directly or indirectly. Mumia and Oliech have been together for several years now and she has seen a lot of up and downs from Oliech.

Here’s what Mumia said:

The foreign quota rule in South Africa Premier Soccer League allows clubs to register a maximum seven foreign players in their squad.

“I lacked an extra spot for foreigners and that is the reason we did not sign a foreign striker,” said Luc Eymael.

Just like any loving mother, Mama Oliech cannot bare to watch people troll her son over his looks. The 61 year old mother has come out to speak about the issue a few weeks after a horrifying photo of his son from Koroga Festival was widely shared on social media – and the comments were not pleasing!

Mama Oliech is now defending her son after people came out to say that he is now broke and has been struggling hence his ‘new’ look. She went on to reveal how hurt she feels knowing that many have been making fun of him not knowing that this will also affect his family. Speaking to People Daily Mama Oliech said,

“It is just a rumor with no truth in it, he is not broke. We’ve been embarrassed and hurt. He is a national hero. National heroes deserve a lot of respect. Dragging their names through the mud is wrong.”

She went on to add,

“He has helped us whenever he can when it comes to family projects. However, all his siblings are stable and have families and jobs of their own. When I was battling Lymphoma Cancer, he played a big role in making sure I got well. He found a doctor in France who treated me from 2013 to 2016.He spent huge amounts of money. Now I am well, I just attend physiotherapy. Also, he supported me to open a second branch of Mama Oliech and a pub at Dagoretti Centre.”

It is however sad to see how Mama Oliech looks hurt because of online bullies!

Dennis Oliech might appear to have dry lips, with an unkempt beard and quite skinny but this does not necessarily mean that he is broke.

Abput a week ago he left the online community talking as many came out to claim that he was not in financially stable and if anything…his health was getting worse.

He however later responded by saying that he barely cares  what people say about him and even before his statement was shared in the many Kenyan tabloids…his sister Elsie went ahead to flaunt a house Dennis bought his mother at 27 million when he was still playing in Europe.

Well now that the years have passed the house appreciated in terms of its price as it is now valued at Ksh. 60 million.

To brush off the rumors claiming that Oliech is broke Elsie through her facebook page wrote to say,

“The online hate directed at me is not new” Dennis Oliech finally speaks

It is never fun to see people trolling you on social media and in the past we have heard of people taking their own lives as they could not handle internet bullies.

Dennis Oliech is however different. According to him he has seen it all since he is not new in the entertainment industry. Therefore trolling him and calling him names on social media pages would not hurt his feelings nor lower his self esteem.

Dennis Oliech

Speaking during an interview with e daily the footballer said that in the ten years he has been making headlines there is nothing he has not heard, from the good to the bad.

For this reason he has learned not to pay attention to the gossip spreading around about him. He also went on to add that he does not consume gossip and this is why he has been having the care free attitude. He said;

“I have made news headlines, good and the bad, for ten years now. I have seen it all on mainstream and social media, and the online hate directed at me is not new. If anything, I do not consume gossip.”

With that in mind we now understand why he has been maintaining his silence until just recently when he gave his opinion about the rumors claiming he is not in a good place financially…hence his appearance at Koroga Festival.

He turned down Qatar’s 200M offer to switch nationality! 5 sacrifices Dennis Oliech made that prove he’s a national hero

Dennis Oliech became a subject of discussion thanks to his ‘peculiar’ look at Carnivore Grounds on Sunday October 1st 2017 during the 19th edition of Koroga Festival.

Some people were fast to troll the former Harambee Stars striker claiming he was heading back poverty after a life of glitz and glam.

Those who defended Oliech argued that the 32-year-old striker was a national hero who ought to be celebrated and not to be subjected to harsh criticisms that was recently witnessed.

Well they are right, below are the 5 points to prove Oliech is a national hero.

  1. Oliech is still the most potent striker Kenya has ever had

Not even Victor Wanyama or his brother McDonald Mariga broke Oliech’s goal scoring record. Only Michael Olunga looks promising to break Oliech record but he still has 22 more goals to score to match Deno’s record. Dennis Oliech is Kenya’s all-time top scorer with 34 goals in 66 matches, that’s a VERY impressive record given that famous player like Theo Walcott has only scored 8 goals for England in 47 appearances.

2. Oliech’s ultimate sacrifice during Kenya Vs Zimbabwe game in 2008

Early 2008, Harambee Star’s goalkeeper Arnold Origi sustained a career threatening injury that saw him being driven off in an ambulance to hospital in the middle of the match against Zimbabwe after colliding with a striker midair. With all the three substitutes having been exhausted, Dennis Oliech took over Origi’s gloves and manned the post successfully maintaining a clean sheet for the remainder of the match. Remember Oliech was the one who scored the two goals, Kenya won 2-1.

3. Oliech pays air tickets for Harambee stars players

There was drama in 2009 when Harambee Stars was set to travel to Tunisia for the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Kenya Football Federation (KFF) failed to provide tickets for players because they were ‘broke’. Oliech offered to pay the return air tickets and accommodation for the 32 member team.

4.Oliech scored the winning goal that sent Kenya to 2004 Africa Cup of Nations

Dennis Oliech scored the winning goal against Cape Verde that saw Harambee Stars book a place in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations showpiece. It was the first time since 1990 that Kenya had made it to the Africa’s premier tournament. Remember Kenya is yet to qualify for another continental showpiece.

5. Oliech turned down Qatar’s offer to switch nationality

Dennis Oliech was only 19 years old when official from Qatar approached him with an offer of $2.6 million or Kes 200 million (with 2004 exchange rate) to change citizenship. It all started when three Qatari talent scouts landed in Kenya and tried to persuade him to change his allegiance from Kenya to Qatar for the mouth-watering fee.

One of the Qataris in the group was behind the move that saw a Kenyan athlete Abraham Cherono (now Saif Shaheen) change nationality to Qatar. Of course Oliech turned down the offer, remember how many Kenyan athletes have changed nationality for the lure of money?

Even Harambee Stars goalkeeper Arnold Origi officially acquired Norwegian citizenship in August 2017. Under Norwegian law, it is in principle not permitted to have dual citizenship. A person who applies for Norwegian citizenship must therefore renounce his/her former citizenship.

It should also be remembered that Dennis Oliech took his cancer struck mother to France for treatment using some 123 million shillings. Respect to Dennis Oguta Oliech!

5 hot photos of young Dennis Oliech from a few years ago

For the past few days many have been discussing Dennis Oliech after a photo of him looking a bit off was shared online, leaving many wondering what was going on with the footballer.

However, a few celebrities and close friends have come forth to defend the footballer saying that he should be left alone as the social media trolls are no longer funny.

Among those who have been on the forefront of defending the footballer is Carol Radull who also happened to reveal that Dennis Oliech has been a big help to the community through his projects that aim at helping young footballers grow their careers.

Away from that I have compiled a few photos of the footballer from back in the day where he looks healthy and super handsome. The photos clearly show why many were shocked after his latest was shared online as he looks different from the Oliech we knew from then.

Oliech left netizen in awe when he was seen posing with his former boss Jacob Ghost Mulee. Ghost was Harembee Stars coach when the national team played in African Cup Nations in Tunisia in 2004, Oliech was in that squad.

Ghost and Oliech bumped into each other at Carnivore Grounds and they decided to take a photo together. Oliech’s untidy facial hair and dry lips made Kenyans suspect all wasn’t well with the onetime richest footballer in Kenya.

Dennis Oliech kicked out of his apartment after tough financial problems?

Despite having made a name for himself after a successful football career, Dennis Oliech is now rumored to have been thrown out of his Valley Arcade apartment due to “rent arrears” as disclosed by close sources to the footballer.

To confirm this, a close source to the footballer told the Star that his belongings were moved by a lorry last week and nobody knows where he is at the moment.

“Last week, a lorry came by to shuttle off his belongings from the house. He did not carry everything, just bits of it.”

This is after he failed to pay his rent for a couple of months. The source went ahead to say that the apartment cost Sh150,000 per month and since he could afford it anymore he was forced to leave for a cheaper house.

His apartment has however found a new owner and his remaining household items were shifted to a servants quarter as they give him time to find a new place as revealed.

The source went on to add that he sold most of the property he had bought while playing football in Europe. He said,

“Oliech had a house, remember the one he bought when he was playing in France? The Cedar Valley house? Well, he sold it at below market value for Sh26 million, to an aspiring woman representative who was trounced at the nomination stage.”

Adding:

“The Cedar Valley house was where Oliech used to live before moving to a three bedroomed house on Siaya Road, then later he moved to Kileleshwa Heights, early last year.”
