DJ Kalonje regrets posting on social media about his break up with fiancee of 7 years

DJ Kalonje recently left many shaking their heads with dismay after sharing that he got another woman just hours after breaking up with his fiancee of seven years.

Kalonje made the announcement on New Year’s Eve 2018 but the DJ immediately pulled the Instagram post down and deflected backclash by suggesting he was talking about his mobile phone.

Regrets

In an interview, he said that he regrets making the post on social media.

“In the evening (I moved on),” he said adding:

“What I could take back, however, is posting our break up on social media because it didn’t really sit well with my fans and I later tried to cover it up by posting our picture together but the damage was already done.”

“I was talking about my phone” DJ Kalonje shockingly backtracks on breaking up with fiancée after emotional social media post

Popular DJ George Waweru, popularly known as DJ Kalonje, has left Kenyans confused after claiming an earlier post he had shared on social media insinuating that he has broken up with his girlfriend, was actually about his phone.

Yes. His phone.

Deleted the post

According to the DJ who had hinted that he’s parting ways with his fiance Sonnie Kangai who he has been with for seven years, fans misunderstood the post. He has used his phone for seven years and was apparently saying goodbye after buying a new one.

“I just had one important priority in our relationship – You. The problem was that we both had the same priority. All I can say is that the seven years was worth it. Wish you good luck in all your endevours. May you find happiness,” he captioned.

To put that into perspective, he was saying goodbye to maybe a Samsung Ideos, one of the phones released in 2012.

The post was quickly deleted and the DJ later said:

“What is all this am hearing? I was talking about my phone. I got an upgrade.”

DJ Kalonje’s dad laid to rest

Popular DJ Kalonje father Stephen Waweru has been laid to rest. Waweru passed on May 14 after a long illness.

Kalonje took to Instagram to thank Kenyans for the support during the tough times.

“I just want to thank everyone who has been supporting us ever since my dad left us, we were overwhelmed by your love and support. On behalf of the Waweru Family we just want to thank you all. God bless you all. ???” he said.
