Dusit mastermind’s wife is impoverished in Somalia after getting married off again!

Five years following the death of her husband in the DusitD2 attack in Nairobi, Violet Kemunto Omwoyo now resides in impoverished conditions in Somalia, reflecting the harsh reality of young individuals drawn into religious radicalization.

Squalor, characterized by extreme dirtiness and unpleasantness, particularly resulting from poverty or neglect, has become Kemunto’s way of life. Intelligence reports indicate that she has faced a challenging existence, being passed from one warlord husband to another, and only luck has spared her from meeting a fatal end.

As the country observes the fifth anniversary of the attack, security agencies have intensified surveillance efforts to apprehend Kemunto. Previously a journalist turned radical extremist, she was married to Ali Salim Gichunge, the orchestrator of the terrorist attack on the 14 Riverside Complex, also known as DusitD2, on January 15, 2019. Gichunge and 21 others lost their lives in the attack.

Kemunto, also known as Khadija Mahmoud, was in war-torn Somalia at the time of the attack. Intelligence indicates her involvement in the planning and execution of the attack, with promises of a better life if she supported her husband’s jihad campaign.

Having worked as a public relations intern at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in 2014 before fleeing to Somalia, Kemunto used her position to gather information for the terror group leading up to the attack.

After her husband’s death and her escape to Somalia, Kemunto found herself in the clutches of al-Shabaab militants. She married a middle-level commander in southern Somalia, who later perished in clashes with the Somali National Army. Following this, she remarried an al-Shabaab fighter, who was killed on the Kenyan border while planting an improvised explosive device along the Elwak-Mandera road.

Presently residing in Jilib, an al-Shabaab headquarters territory, Kemunto teaches language to the children of the militant group’s operatives. Despite her background as a trained journalist with a degree from Masinde Muliro University in 2011, she adds to the list of women deceived and radicalized by al-Shabaab with promises of a better life.

Kemunto’s early life in Nairobi included attending City Primary School in Ngara and later joining Hamdan Girls High School in Mbale, Uganda. She worked as a manager at various mobile phone companies in Nairobi before resigning upon her marriage to Gichunge.

Outrage as UK paper calls Kenyans “idiots” for revealing face of British special soldier present during DusitD2

Kenyans are again on attack mode after a newspaper in the UK labeled them idiots following the exposure of a British Special Air Service (SAS) who was part of the rescue team during the Dusit D2 Attack in Westlands.

Britain’s The Sun newspaper published an article implying that Kenyans were idiots for showing the face of the special forces officer who was off-duty but decided to jump into action.

They went on to add that the officer had to be flown out of the country immediately after his face was seen on social media.

“The Brit hero who saved dozens during a terror attack in Kenya had to be rushed out of the country after idiots revealed his face on social media,” read part of the report by The Sun.

Viral photos

Photos of SAS member in action at DusitD2 hotel went viral across the globe. The special forces soldier jumped into action wearing combat gear over a casual jeans and purple shirt.

The SAS soldier worked with Kenyan special forces to neutralize the terrorists.

International media report that the British SAS soldier was in Nairobi to train and mentor Kenyan Special Forces when a request for help went out to local forces, and he decided to join them in action.

The soldier whose name remains secret is set for a prestigious award in Britain following his acts of selflessness in rescuing terror victims in Kenya.

Terrorists spared the life of DusitD2 hotel waiter who served them coffee two days before the attack… the waiter reveals what the attackers told him

Apparently the terrorists didn’t shoot at everyone they came across during the attack at DusitD2 hotel, a waiter who came face to face with the attackers on Tuesday January 15th wasn’t harmed.

The waiter, who spoke to the press after being rescued by police, revealed that he identified the attackers because he had served them coffee two days prior to the terror attack.

“I knew one of them because he had a big scar on one of his hands. I saw them,” the waiter told Capital FM.

The waiter further said that the terrorists shot six of his friends killing two on the spot;

“They shot six of my friends, four didn’t die but two succumbed.”

Motive

The terrorists told the waiter why they ambushed DusitD2 hotel and shot indiscriminately at innocent people. The waiter said that the assailants told that Kenyan forces were killing their brothers in Somalia.

“Why are you killing our brothers and sisters in Somalia? They no longer attend Madrassa,” one of the attackers asked the waiter.

The attack on innocent people was finally stopped when members of the Kenyan special forces launched an offensive against the terrorists killing them all.

“That was just a power-bank” Sonko’s team on the spot for giving ‘dubious’ explanation of Sonko brandishing gun

Kenyans were sure they saw a gun, but Governor Mike Sonko’s team wanted them to look closer, because it was nothing close to that.

Sonko’s communications director Elkana Jacob has denied that Sonko was carrying a gun as shown by a photo doing rounds on social media. Jacob stated that the object Kenyans saw in the photos take after the Dusit D2 terror attack, was just a power-bank.

“Have you ever seen a pistol?” he asked. “That object in the governor’s pocket wasn’t a pistol. You would easily know that if you have knowledge of how a pistol looks like. That object was a power bank.”

Brandishing

Kenyans took to social media to complain over Sonko’s “careless” handle of the fire arm. Despite Jacob’s statement that it was powerbank, you can clearly see it was a firearm.

“If anything, the power bank belonged to me, and given I did not have an extra space to carry it in the bag or my pockets, I placed it in the governor’s jacket. I acquired the power bank while on tour in the United States some time back. So, I would confidently confirm to you that Mr Sonko was not brandishing a gun at dusitD2 Hotel,” said Mr Jacob.

“I relied on previous experience to save myself” Hairdresser who survived Westgate and Dusit terror attacks speaks

Tracy Wanjiru is lucky and also unlucky in equal measures, she is lucky because she survived two terror attacks and she is unlucky because she was at the center two of the deadliest attacks in recent Kenyan history.

Tracy was six months pregnant when she was holed up at Westgate mall following Al Shabab terror attack at the facility on 21st September 2013.

Six years after the Westgate attack, Tracy found herself in a similar situation. She was inside the DusitD2 complex when gunmen stormed the facility and started shooting indiscriminately.

Past experience

“I was working there (Westgate Mall) when the attackers stormed in, it was not easy just like today. All I can say is that I thank God,” said Tracy.

She said that she saw human body part flying in the air after terrorists set up explosions at DusitD2 Hotel. The hairdresser further revealed that she notified her colleagues about the attack but they didn’t believe her until they heard screams and gunfire.
