This is how much Fena Gitu charges per show

Rapper Fena Gitu recently spoke to Betty Kyalo on her show “Upclose with Betty” where she shared her performance fee.

Gitu has been in the music industry now for 10 years and said there has been a lot of ups and downs. She confessed that when she started out, she was super broke and her first paycheck was only 5000 bob.

“It depends on the artiste. As an upcoming artiste you can’t expect to be paid 100Gs per show. I was paid Sh 5,000 after my first paying gig. It took a while (to earn a lot from music).” she told Betty.

She now charges a clean 500k for performance.

“I try and quote about as much as it would cost me to shoot a video. About half a mike (half a million) depending, but it doesn’t happen every time.” she said.

Regarding her journey, Fena said 2016 was one of her hardest years since she was super broke.

“There was a time I couldn’t breath and now I am coming up for air, levitating. I have gone through ups and downs. 2017 and 2016 were probably my worst years. I was flat broke, living on my best friend’s floor and just trying to make ends meet. Ni venye tu you don’t go announcing (your problems). I took that time to strategize and focus on me and just grow,” she explained on Up Close with Betty.

Well, it could be from the way she dresses and carries herself that has left many claiming that she is a lesbian;  But finally thanks to an interview she recently did with K24’s Betty Kyallo, we get to here Fena’s side of the story.

Fena opens up

Unlike what many expected, Fena Gitu this time around did not feel the need of addressing her sexuality. According to her, this  is none of anybody’s business but her owns. She went on to tell Betty Kyallo;

I’m just single and out here but I’m focusing on my work. As for my sexuality, it’s no one’s business. Even you when people are always on your case in blogs and stuff, it’s no one’s business what you’re doing in your home and I don’t wanna feed that, I’m here because I’m a musician first.

Well despite being linked to several other women in the entertainment industry, Fena Gitu will not be letting anyone into her personal life anytime soon.
