Muhadhara hitmaker, Jimmy Gait has hit the headlines after strangely going under for a while before resurfacing with unknown details of a sickness he has been battling all along.
Last week, he traveled to India to seek further treatment after misdiagnosis by local doctors. The gospel singer was repeatedly advised to undergo throat surgery locally.
Through his You Tube channel, Jimmy Gait is giving family, friends and fans updates on his treatment and well being.
Misdiagnosis
He opens up about a time he contacted doctors in Nairobi about his problem, who kept giving him medication but the problem still persisted.
So he eventually came across an ENT doctor who advised him to get a surgery for his throat but the gospel artist failed to believe, until a different doctor told him the same.

These doctors were so transactional. They quoted for me figures that were so high. It was not about helping me, but how much money they would get.
Therefore, basing on this, he became very skeptical and decided to seek another doctor’s opinion, but this time, from the International scope.
Re-diagnosis
And through an agency that facilitated his travel to India, the hospital he is currently in, is where the agency brought him into and he believes it so far is the best he could ever get.
But that’s just tip of the iceberg. What was most shocking for him is when the doctor in India told him:
Listen, James, the operation that was to be done on you, would have made you never sing again. Because your voice would have permanently changed. And to me that was very very shocking, I could not believe it.

What is most disappointing is fact that even after repeatedly asking local doctors if he would be able to sing after the surgery, they kept telling him YES. Only to turn out as a deceptive measure.
So the doctor in India advised they should run him through a myriad of tests and scans to be able to determine the root cause of his problem. Which turned out successful.
All these are receipts of the bills I paid and I kept wondering why they are doing so many tests on me. But the doctor told me, “Look, here we don’t trade or recommend any treatment until we have seriously tested a patient”.
Jimmy Gait closes up by sharing the test results with the public. But first, he is grateful the surgery was ruled out.
Revelation
In a video clip that features his doctor in India, a different diagnosis came up.
I found that the throat problem appeared like it was predominant but because of increased acid production inside the stomach and into the complains in the throat and in his voice also. So, we found the infection, we treated it and we have given him treatment, and luckily he’s doing very well with the treatment. This would be my advice to doctors all across: If the patient is not improving, maybe once or twice, then move according to the clinical judgement and do perform other tests that are required.
However, as he concludes, the Kenyan singer hopes to return back home but reveals he will have to stay in India probably 6 weeks or so, for review purposes.
The shocking thing is that first the Kenyan doctors misdiagnosed me and if they did a surgery on me, the problem would now have graduated into stomach cancer….Aargh! Hiyo story just shocked me. That a doctor would rather make money from me, than give me proper treatment.

Harmonize and his former boss, Diamond Platnumz have made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
First it was their bitter split that finally came to light. Second, the two were set to share stage during their scheduled performance in London and fans didn’t understand how that will happen.

Just yesterday, youthful comedian, Chipukeezy shook the Internet after announcing his departure from his host home, Ebru TV.
This was over an argument with the management concerning his kind of ‘ghetto’ content to the viewers, with the main focus being on upcoming comedian, Kartelo. The two co-host a weekly show on Ebru TV.
According to Chipukeezy, if Kartelo is leaving, so is he. This attracted fury from Kenyans who declared they will boycott the local TV station if Chipukeezy exits.
The issue has been trending for the last couple of hours since Chipukeezy broke the news and fellow comedians, Eric Omondi and Teacher Wanjiku have reacted on the same.
What comes out is accusations fired towards Ebru TV for allegedly frustrating and mistreating its very own employees.

President of comedy, Eric Omondi disclosed that not once nor twice, did Chipukeezy call him to express the frustrations he was facing under Ebru TV’s management.
Eric recalls a time when he personally witnessed guards at the gate literally harass Chipukeezy for carrying ‘vijana strange’ as he pens:
I can not count the number of times Chipukeezy called me to Cry, Lament and Complain about Mistreatments and Frustrations at Ebru. I witnessed personally in awe as a watchman stopped Chipukeezy’s car at the gate and asked him to park outside because he was carrying “Vijana strange” ( Guests at the show). It is high time Media Houses started treating Artists with due respect.
Further supporting Chipukeezy’s decision to move on to a different platform, because mainstream media is no longer what we used to know it for.
I have not been on TV for the past 7 years and I can assure you that am doing JUST FINE so @chipukeezy and @kartelo_official will be More than Okay!!! Do not be lied to @chipukeezy has left Ebru because of simple MADHARAU hata sio @kartelo_official tu, I have seen my boy suffer in silence and with sooo much patience, he’s taken it all and now he’s left. Unfortunately, Kartelo has reason enough to believe that Kenyan youth do not have platforms to air their views nor represent what they stand for.

Ugandan singer-songwriter, Irene Ntale has landed a major deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria and already released her first single.
Wednesday, the 21st of August, the Ugandan singer signed a deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria, making her the first artiste from Uganda to be singed in to the label.
Speaking in regard to the music deal, Ntale expressed:

Darassa features Maua Sama in his new jam Shika. He is known for his poetic style in music. A style in which he has adopted since his inception of the music world. Also I must say that this poetic style helps to break the monotony of bongo music from Tanzania.
Darassa is known for a couple hit songs which he still performs in his poetic style. This time round he has featured another talent from Tanzania Maua Sama. The duo has a great taste in music and a great way in which they have performed Shika.
Shika is a Swahili word meaning hold. We are only left to find out what it means in Darassa’s work as we know he is always full of surprises. Although he takes quit sometime before releasing songs, he always has a way to people’s hearts due to the great poetic lines.
I know most people prefer to listen to his work rather than the most common things other artist have. The duo has delivered this song with a lot of love and energy. The mastery of the lyrics and beats is just wow. I can listen to this dudes work over and over again. The duo compliments each other giving this jam Shika their best and the best feel.
What is ‘Shika’ all about?
Mguu pande mguu sawa Tembea, tembea Nataka uwanja nitambe Sogea, sogea. This line is just awesome. Look at how well articulated it is. The poetic nature in it will make you recite the words over and over again. Also he applies repetition in his work for emphasis and rhyme.
Also there is this line that you can’t miss; Jembe la kulima, tifua tifua Navua papa itakua kamba, dagaa, kibua Mshike mshike segele langu unalijua Ngoma inoge kelele zangu mpaka napasua.
Shika has been produced by Abbah and mixed Mr. T Touch. The music video was shot in Tanzania and directed by Hanscana.
In conclusion, Darassa and Maua Sama gets a rating of 7/10.
