This man Cliff Ombeta…why do all murder suspects want to hire him? He’s now representing actor Jamal Nassor’s killer

Cliff Ombeta is arguably the most sought-after criminal defense lawyer in Kenya. He has represented so many people and managed to win most of his cases or at least secure freedom for his clients.

Ombeta has represented the Akasha brothers who are wanted in the US for drug trafficking, he managed to stop their extradition.

He has also represented the likes of Miguna Miguna, NYS corruption poster girl Anne Ngirita, and even fake doctor Mugo Wa Wairimu before he refused to represent him again (Ombeta secured Mugo’s release when he was first arrested for raping patients at his clinic).

Murder suspects

All ‘high profile’ murder suspects have sought the services of Cliff Ombeta, the likes of Pastor Ng’ang’a (killed a pedestrian) Migori governor Okoth Obado (Sharon Otieno murder) Joseph Irungu (Monica Kimani murder) and now Grace Kanamu Namulo (Jamal Nassul murder).

Grace Kanamu Namulo stabbed Jamal Nassul Gadafi to death on the night of December 11th 2018 following a quarrel. She is now being represented by lawyer Cliff Ombeta.

Namulo is still being detained by police. On Tuesday December 18th the High Court in Machakos ordered she be detained until December 27 to allow prosecution conducts further investigation.

But it’s only a matter of time before she is released on bail, her lawyer specializes in securing freedom for his clients even when all evidence points at them.

Jamal Nassul Gadafi was stabbed to death on the night of December 11th 2018 following a quarrel with Grace Kanamu Namulo.

Jamal starred in several local productions including KTN’s drama series ‘Junior’, NTV’s ‘Aunty Boss’ and KBC’s ‘Vioja Mahakamani’ as a judge.

Jamal’s colleague at Vioja Mahakamani David Alliwah has opened up about his last encounter with the deceased. Alliwah reveals that Jamal was very disturbed during the last shoot after a quarrel with Grace Kanamu Namulo.

“Last week during our last shoot, Jamal was very disturbed. I remember his phone was cracked and he told me it was a quarrel with his ‘wife’ because someone had called Jamal at night, so she smashed the phone. I was so close to him and everything that happened in his life,” said David Alliwah during an interview with Word Is.

Namulo not a side chick

David Alliwah further reveals that Jamal and Grace Kanamu Namulo were in a relationship contrary to some report that the two were having an illicit affair.

“She was not a side chick. Jamal had introduced her to many of us and we knew she was his wife. It was not someone who was intruding in his life,” Alliwah said.

Long prayer

Alliwah also revealed that Jamal saw his death coming, he says that the deceased prayed for long after the last shoot which was unlike him.

“After the last segment, Jamal said a very long prayer for us, which was unlike him. I asked the audience to stand up and requested Jamal because he was Muslim. He prayed so passionately and even blessed the dead. He then told me to make sure we keep in contact.”

Popular actor Jamal Nassul Gadafi was stabbed to death on the night of December 11th 2018 following a quarrel with Grace Kanamu Namulo.

Jamal starred in several local productions including KTN’s drama series ‘Junior’, NTV’s ‘Aunty Boss’ and KBC’s ‘Vioja Mahakamani’.

Jamal met his death at a party in Mlolongo which had been organized by Grace Namulo. Several people attended the party which has held at Arks Hotel.

Male guests

Drama ensued after Jamal confronted Grace about dancing with some of the male guests who were showering her with expensive alcohol. Jamal and Grace left the venue and went towards the kitchen to resolve their issues before the stabbing happened.

”Some of the men, who attended the party offered to shower Namulo with expensive drinks, a proposal she entertained. The men also went ahead to dance with her, an act that annoyed Gadafi, who confronted Namulo. The two, thereafter, left the party venue and went toward the kitchen, where the suspect allegedly stabbed the actor to death,” DCI officer handling the case told Citizen TV.

Jamal was pronounced dead upon arrival at Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River. Below are photos of Jamal’s killer Grace Kanamu Namulo.
