‘I’m not a gold Digger’ singer Jackie Chandiru making a comeback after being devastated by drugs

Uganda singer Jackie Chandiru, who started from the popular trio Blue 3, is planning a major come back after years of staying away from the industry.

Chandiru, who is popularly known for his song “Gold Digger” shared that drugs like heroin and cocaine are not the reason why she took time off as many claimed.

In an interview on KFM, she said that she was addicted to a painkiller called Pethidine, which was used to treat a back problem.

“My disorder started about five years ago. At that time, I had a back pain. The doctor noticed how much pain I was in and prescribed Pethidine. Pain goes away in about 30 second. I got addicted to it and started getting it without prescription,” she said in the interview.

Worried by her comeback

Jackie has now completed her rehab sessions and is set to hit the airwaves again. The singer is set to perform on Thursday and said that the top female singer in Uganda,  Sheebah, should be worried now that she’s making a return.

“The best female artiste at the moment is undoubtedly Sheebah. She has worked hard and I respect her so much but I am back for my crown. I am the best here and I need my rightful position back.” she said.
