She was finally released on bail on October 30th, but she walked out of Lang’ata women prison a day later on October 31. Jacque spent a total of 32 days in detention.

It was a tough time for Jacque who is a mother of a four year old boy. Even after her release, she still couldn’t resume normal duties at Citizen TV as conditions for her bail restricted her from going back on air or conducting interviews.

I wrote this one late,

Kindly carry it to the car as you go to court today,

That is why I slip this under your door,

Happy Birthday Jacque Maribe,

Been standing outside your door,

With pen and notebook,

Thinking how Tragic a year you had,
Impressed by the Magic you have,

Aware that like someone said,
A challenge, only becomes an obstacle when you bow to it.

So here my birthday note,

At least one day this year find a very rainy mid-morning, I will come with an umbrella,

So that, I can hold just one raindrop for you, place it on your bicep and watch it roll down.

I ask for no more,
Just a chance to watch you re-introduce yourself in 2019,

With your wounds – Yes.

With your visible scars – Yes.

But with fresh stamina.. Undettered passion

Because you are,

Jacque Maribe.

Happy Birthday!

Mother’s love!! Jackie Maribe’s mum comforts Jowi in court after ‘I’m being tortured in Kamiti’ claim (photo)

Jacque Maribe and Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu appeared before Justice James Wakiaga yet again on Tuesday.

Irungu claimed in court that he was tortured at Kamiti Maximum prison and also needed surgery since the gunshot wound on his left hand is yet to be treated.

Irungu told court he was willing to spend his own cash to treat the arm.

Court proceeding

The Court directed that Irungu be admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital unconditionally or he would be freed on bail to seek medication at a hospital of his choice.

Court: Surely, we cannot hold a man in need of medication. What if he dies in our hands? Is it possible to allow the family to produce a car and prisons provide guard. I order that the accused be admitted at KNH today, whether Gvt owes KNH money or not. No fee should be demanded from the accused. If he is not admitted today, the court will allow him to seek medical treatment at a hospital of his choice. It is so ordered,” Dennis Itumbi later said in a post while giving a recap of how the proceeding went.

After the case, Jackie’s mum was captured in a photo comforting Irungu. The photo has been doing rounds on social media proving truly nothing beats a mother’s love.

Jacque Maribe fights back after being denied access to her house in Lang’ata

It has been two months since Jacque Maribe was first arrested in connection with the brutal murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Police cordoned off Jacque’s house in Royal Park, Lang’ata after vital documents believed to belong to Monica where found there.

The Citizen TV anchor has not been allowed to access her house ever since she was released from police custody. Her friend Dennis Itumbi took to Twitter on Monday November 26th to complain about how the prosecution was ‘harassing’ her.

Jacque fights back

In a fresh application filed in court, Jacque through her lawyer Katwa Kigen has accused the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji of acting in contempt of court by refusing to allow her to have her house as well as witness statements relating to her trial.

Jacque wants her house back plus access to all the documents the prosecution intends to use in her trial over the murder of Monica Kimani.

So when I see my face on the packet of pads as the brand ambassador of Softcare pads, I testify because my life is evidence that it doesn’t matter who you are or what you do. God can do exceedingly and abundantly above all you can ever ask, think or imagine.”

Super hilarious memes on how Dennis Itumbi is going to ‘feast’ now that Jacque Maribe has been released

Jacque Maribe was released on bail on Tuesday October 30th. Her fiancé Joseph Irungu was however denied bail and will remaind in prison until the case is determined.

While granting Maribe bail, Justice James Wakiaga said there was no likelihood of her skipping bail because she is a well-known television personality with many connections and strong family ties.

“She is a single mother of a young child who needs her presence. The law gives the mother a lot of responsibility of bringing up a child and it is only fair if she stays with the child during the period of her trial to teach him how to become a better citizen,” Justice Wakianga ruled.

Reactions

He’s nothing but a woman eater! Mixed reactions after Judge described Jowie a male version of a slay queen

Kenyans have been left pondering High Court Judge James Wakiaga’s description of murder suspect Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie after he denied him bail yesterday and granting Jacque Maribe.

According to the judge, Irungu was denied bail because he’s as a male version of a slay queen and has no house to go to.

“A male version of a slay queen, which for lack of a better word, I’ll call a woman eater. He was living in the house of the second accused. driving the second accused’s car, with no known source of income since 2017 when he provided security for some Jubilee politicians,” said Wakiaga.

Maribe has been released on a Sh1 million cash bail in the Monica Kimani murder case. She was granted an alternative of a Sh2 million bond or three sureties of a similar amount. Her fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, on the other hand, will remain in custody for the rest of the murder trial.

No address

The next hearing is in June 2019. Wakiaga said that Irungu has no home to go to or any sibling that awaits him therefore shouldn’t be granted bail.

“Whereas the first accused (Irungu) has indicated that his siblings are likely to find him an alternative accommodation, there’s no evidence placed before this court to support this preposition,” Wakiaga said.

“The first accused has no known assets in the country say for an intention to set up a private security firm. I therefore find him to be with not fixed aboard, lacking any deep emotional occupation or family ties in the country and is likely to abscond should need arise,” he added.

No reading news, commenting or participate in any interview- Court warns Maribe after she’s released on bail

After being released on a Sh1 million cash bail in the Monica Kimani murder case and granted an alternative of a Sh2 million bond or three sureties of a similar amount, Maribe has also been ordered by court to stop anchoring news and appearing on any interviews.

While granting Maribe’s bail application, Justice James Wakiaga ordered the news anchor not to take part in interviews related to the murder case which has been set to hearing from June 18-27, 2019.

“The accused shall not read news, comment or participate in any interview directly or indirectly related to this case,  she shall not read news during the period this matter is fixed for hearing, she shall not interview any parties directly or indirectly connected with this case including the victim’s family, advocate, prosecution witnesses, and trial court,” said Wakiaga.

Irungu

He also added that Maribe’s order was subjected to review. Irungu was denied bail and will spent more time in jail before the next hearing set for 2019.

“He was living in the house of the second accused (Maribe), driving her car with no known source of income since 2017 when he provided security to some Jubilee Party politicians. Whereas the first accused (Irungu) has indicated that his siblings are likely to find him an alternative accommodation, there’s no evidence placed before this court to support this preposition,” Justice Wakiaga said.

3 strict conditions set for Jacque Maribe as she is released on bail

Justice James Wakiaga on Tuesday October 30th granted Jacque Maribe bail after after a month-long incarceration. The judge however denied her fiancé Joseph Irungu bail.

The Citizen TV anchor secured Kes 2 million surety bond with an alternative of Kes 1 million cash bail with three sureties of a similar amount.

The judge said there was no likelihood of Maribe skipping bail because she is a well-known television personality with many connections and strong family ties.

“She is a single mother of a young child who needs her presence. The law gives the mother a lot of responsibility of bringing up a child and it is only fair if she stays with the child during the period of her trial to teach him how to become a better citizen,” Justice Wakianga ruled.

Dennis Itumbi has come out to defend Eric Omondi after he was severely criticized over a post on Jacque Maribe. Both Eric and Itumbi have a ‘strong connection’ to Maribe.

Eric caused a stir when he posted a photo of Jacque Maribe’s son on IG on October 9th. The comedian is rumored to be the father of Jacque’s son.

Dennis Itumbi is now defending Eric following the trolls. Note that Eric and Jacque dated years ago before they broke up sometimes in February 2015. Jacque indirectly announced the breakup when she was seen publicly exchanging saliva with Dennis Itumbi.

Speaking during an interview with Word Is, Itumbi said that Eric was only expressing his friendship to Jacque just like him and many others.

“Eric Omondi is an adult and what people say on social media cannot change his friendship with anyone. If he has expressed his friendship towards Jacque Maribe just like me and many others, it doesn’t matter what you write on social media, we will continue being friends. I cannot comment on whether he is the baby daddy or not, but I’m sure Jacque at the appropriate time will address the issue,” said Dennis Itumbi.

Dennis Itumbi denies he’s fighting for Jacque Maribe in court so that she can marry him when out

Dennis Itumbi has been really fighting for Jacque Maribe’s freedom after she was accused of the murder of Monica Kimani alongside fiance Joseph Irungu.

Itumbi yesterday penned a lovely poem dedicated to Maribe as she was fighting for bail.

Fans claim that Itumbi is fighting for her because he’s still in love with her and wants to date her when she gets out.

“You’re a very calculating fisi. You know that somehow the lady may win the case and now you’re placing yourself strategically to earn dividends where you’ll be raiding the cookie jar with much ease now that the competition will be probably be rotting behind bars. Tafadhali Dennis Itumbi Wacha kuharibu nyumba ya Jowie,” said one fan.

“Do you know that Jackie Maribe is 2 months pregnant of Jowis kid? Can you stop shouting somebody’s wife name at night! Ulishindwa na kazi brathe.” said another.

Prayers

Itumbi denied that he was after winning Maribe from Jowi.

“Is she? Thanks for the info. Still, may she weigh innocent on the graphical and real scales of Justice”

Ebru TV journalist barred from seeing Jacque Maribe at Milimani Court

Ebru TV’s Entertainment News Host Dana de Grazia was among those who arrived at the Milimani courthouse early in the morning before the case commenced.

Dana de Grazia was was barred and blocked from not just accessing but seeing Jacque Maribe at the Milimani Law Courts. The Citizen TV anchor was under tight security at the court.

Grazia took to social media to complain about how Jacque was being handled by the security. She was locked out of the court after she tried to get to Maribe.

“Woke up at 530 to try and support a fellow media person @jacquemaribe but she had so much support and security was too tight by the time I saw see the courtroom door I was surrounded and locked out. But endless support to her and I hope for her immediate release,” wrote Dana de Grazia on Instagram.

Grazia is one of the fastest-rising media darlings in Kenya, with her show on Ebru TV attracting some of the biggest names in the Kenyan showbiz landscape.

“Eric Omondi has gone MIA, only Itumbi has never been shy of defending her publicly” Nyakundi castigates Jacque Maribe’s fake friends

Jacque Maribe has been presented in court four times since she was arrested, and only Dennis Itumbi has been to the courthouse to see her.

Itumbi hugged and shared jokes with the Citizen TV anchor when she was presented in Milimani law court on Monday October 15th.

The Secretary of Digital Innovation and Diaspora in the Office of the President also warmed up to Jacque’s fiancé Joseph Irungu in court.

Fake friends

Cyprian Nyakundi has come out to condemn Jacque Maribe’s fake friends who have failed to show up in court to give her moral support.

The controversial blogger took shots at the fake friends in a lengthy rant written on social media;

I’m sure Jacque Maribe has many friends, followers, fans and the likes. But when shit hits the fan, you’ll notice that number drastically reduce to almost zero. Because Kenya is fake. Nairobi especially has the fakest people in this world.
Only Dennis Itumbi has never been shy of defending her publicly. Her baby-daddy Eric Omondi has gone MIA, probably fearing that he will “hurt his brand” should he openly be seen associating with her.
And that’s Nairobi for you fellow Kenyans. Don’t confuse bar associations with real/solid networks. Nairobi is just full of leeches who gravitate around successful individuals. If you want to remain steady and focused, you have to shun these characters who only look for you when things are OK.
Dennis Itumbi has given us lessons on how to navigate the tricky Nairobi social-scene. Ladies especially are easily carried away by grand gestures from shadowy characters like Nigerians and the likes, people who can never identify with our struggles here in Kenya.
It’s incumbent upon everyone to know whom to share your time with. Do they add value to your lives or you just drink together? Do you feel any sort of growth/improvement when you’re around him or her or you are just glorified fuck-buddies masquerading as a couple?
A recent Q & A by Anerlisa was revealing about her skewed life choices and affinity to vanity. She was asked by a lady if it’s okay to send a guy money, something she categorically said “No” . But why should other ladies bear the burden of her poor life choices and being a poor judge of character?
If you’re looking for an eye-candy dude, one to show off to your girlfriends so as to boost your ego/self-esteem, they are a dime a dozen.
Comparing Dennis Itumbi with Jowie Irungu, you can see what Maribe’s priorities are. Skewed. She was better off with Itumbi who looks like he is focused and has a future. This other dude is just a life-ist who is just enjoying life.
So choose wisely people. This life there’s no rehearsal.

She has toughened up! Jacque Maribe’s transformation after spending weeks in detention (Photos)

Jacque Maribe literally looked like a troubled cage animal when she was presented in Milimani court on Tuesday October 9th to face murder charge.

She looked weak and delicate, she didn’t even apply any makeup on her face. And when she shed tears in the courtroom everybody thought she was regretting the day she met Joseph Irungu.

She however didn’t take plea, the court directed Maribe to spend further 5 days at the Lang’ata Women Prison, she underwent psychiatric evaluation to determine whether she was mentally fit to stand trial.

Kila mtu a pambane na hali yake! Maribe asks prosecutor to stop linking her to fiance’s alleged crime

Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe who is in court facing murder charges after the death of Monica Kimani wants the court to stop tying her to crimes that her fiance Jowi Irungu is being accused of.

In an affidavit, Maribe said that she’s facing the charges because she was only romantically involved with Irungu and that she’s innocent.

“The only reasons I am standing trial are that I was in love with a person the prosecution have interest in. I allowed him to come live in my house and I allowed him to use my vehicle. There is no witness or forensic material to associate me with the murder,” Maribe said.

Unfair

She went on to tell the court that she gave Irungu her car but she never helped him with any other thing that might link her to the murder.

She said that it was unfair for the court to use communication between him and Irungu as the reason why she should face the charges.

“Irungu was my fiancé as at then and in the circumstances I definitely communicated with him. It is most unfair to use the communication between me and him in the given circumstances of our then existing relationship as a reason to deny me bail,” she argued.

Adding:

“Any of his actions are not necessarily sanctioned or attributed to me. I was not there if there was any burning. I personally was not aware and did not endorse or authorise any burning of anything.”

Jacque Maribe was detained for 10 days at the Gigiri Police Station as detectives carried out their investigations before she was presented in court for the first time on October 9th 2018.

In a new affidavit filed in court on Wednesday October 17th, Jacque claims that a man named Kennedy Omondi tried to interrogate her when she was locked at Gigiri Police Station.

The Citizen TV anchor says Omondi was would sneak into the women’s cell (which is against police cell policy) and ask her what she knew about Monica Kimani’s murder.

Jacque says the encounter with Omondi happened on September 30th. She reveals that Omondi enjoyed special treatment in the cells, that he wore his shoes, ate food from Java which he offered to share with her but she declined.

“Nobody is allowed to share food in police detainment. I was advised by other detainees and security personnel to be careful with him in view of his interest in my situation. The only risk I ran was therefore from the DCI,” says Jacque in the affidavit.

Drug trafficking

Jacque further reveals that Omondi told her that he had been arrested on drug trafficking accusations on September 29th. He also told her that he knew her house and he repeatedly asked her personal questions.

“He said that he knows my house in Royal Park. He repeatedly asked me questions that were not in the public domain then, including what kind of investigating officer Chief Inspector M. Otieno is,” says Jacque.

She filed the affidavit hoping that the court would grant her bail on grounds that she is not safe in police custody since a male stranger got to her in her cell.

Jacque Maribe: I am a single mother let me go see my child

Citizen TV Jacque Maribe has asked the court to grant her bail because she’s a single mother and should be taking care of her four-year-old son.

Maribe, who has been given another week in remand after the court set her bail hearing to October 24, filed an affidavit pressing the court for bail stating that her son is young and she is a single mother.

“I am a single mother of a child aged four who solely depends on me for social and financial upkeep. He is of tender age and will deeply suffer if I remain in custody until the conclusion of the murder trial which might take long,” she said.

Bail

She told court that she would not jump bail because she’s famous and everyone knows her. She asked the court to let her see her son who is only four and might be suffering.

“There are no compelling reasons whatsoever that can deny me bond. I’m a well-known TV journalist. Most Kenyans are conversant with my job and can easily spot me anywhere; therefore, making it impossible to jump bail,” said Maribe.

“I was not involved in the murder, was not at the scene of the murder, and had no knowledge of (Monica) or any person known to her. Any association alleged against me with the murder is wholly weak circumstantial association with Irungu,” she added.
