Churchill comedian Jasper Murume shares how he was robbed at gun point by men who have marked him

Comedian Jasper Murume is one of the successful comedians that managed to make a name out of the Churchill show on NTV.

In a recent interview with Mpasho, the comedian shared that this success has attracted uncalled for attention which has gotten him robbed twice now.

Murume shared that the thugs know his house  and swept it clean the first time while he was not there, and robbed him again at gun point later on.

“Hawa watu waliniibia mara mbili. Mara ya kwanza walinifagia, mara ya pili waka come na gun. Mara ya pili niliibiwa on gun point, sasa sikua na vitu za kuibiwa sasa walienda tu na laptop ya pili na simu mbili.”he said. 

Terrible feeling

Murume shared that getting your house swept clean Nairobi is not only demoralizing but also very annoying. He felt like he had been returned to his 2014 days when he had nothing as a budding comedian trying to make a name.

“It was terrible. Niliskia ni kama wamenirudisha 2014. Nilifeel vibaya sana. Kuibiwa hii Nairobi ni kitu kibaya sana. Watu wanakuangalia wanadhani uko na doo.” he said.

Comedian Jasper Mwongera also known as Jasper Murume has revealed how he became a comedian and he has his uncle to thank for that.

Speaking on Radio Jambo in Massawe Japanni’s show, the comedian said that he joined comedy after his uncle pushed him but little did he know that his uncle was just looking for a way to kick him out of his house and make a man out of him.

“I had the determination to do comedy just like everyone else and so I had to hustle hard. I went for auditions and it all started when I used to do crazy comedy with the likes of Fred Omondi, then I got the right contacts and I got to learn about Churchill Show auditions. Finally I went and Victor Ber gave me a shot but it did not go as planned.” he said.

Pushed

Though things failed to fall in place, his uncle kept pushing him till eventually, he managed to make a name in the tough industry.

 “I was encouraged by my uncle to actually go back and audition again. He told me; “Mwongera can you take your things and go back to Nairobi. I don’t know what you are doing here, you are very talented. Other people are making it in Nairobi, look at people like Eric (Omondi) they are millionaires right now. You need to go back and show me what you got.” he said.

“Looking back I came to realize my uncle used a cheeky way of actually kicking me out of his home.

Churchill comedian Jasper Murume lands a ‘Zari mwitu’

Top socialite Zari Hassan was recently in Kenya to headline last Saturday’s the Colour Purple event which was at Uhuru Gardens.

The visit came with a lot of controversies and dramas as gospel singer Ringtone tried to impress the mother of five who was recently dumped by singer Diamond Platnumz.

Kenyans in the ended started the Zari challenge after Ringtone hired a Range Rover to lure the Ugandan beauty but was rejected. It seems comedian Jasper Murume might have gotten himself a Zari, though not the original copy.

He posted a photo on Instagram flaunting a light skinned lady who looked like Zari Hassan, leaving social media in awe.
