“I was an eager wide-eyed bride, only to sit in the waiting room for 7 years” Kambua painfully recalls

It was 7 years of waiting, without the cry of a baby being heard in Kambua’s home. Days were dark and tormenting, until God called her from the waiting room.

Now 8 years since the beauty and her ‘beast’, Pastor Jackson Mathu, exchanged vows in church.

But for Kambua, ‘she remembers that day like it was yesterday’. Celebrating their 8th wedding anniversary, Mama Nate vividly recalled the fateful day she was blessed to be a wife.

I remember my excitement and anxiety all interwoven into a beautiful tapestry that would be our future. ⠀

Gospel singer, Kambua

She was so excited, yet pretty anxious, with dreams of a fulfilling future and a happily-ever after that would see their marriage bear endless fruits.

As with every wedding the ministers prayed and spoke blessings over us…blessed my womb, and spoke fruitfulness over us. And as an eager wide-eyed bride I said a resounding “Amen”! ⠀

Married life

Hardly did she know, that was going to be the start of a long, trying waiting for a child that never seemed to come.

Her circle of friends, would constantly invite her to their baby showers and first birthdays, but never would it be the converse.

What I did not know then, was that I would be sitting in ‘the waiting room’ for 7 years. 7! I would watch my friends have babies- one, then two, then five…! I would attend endless baby showers and first birthdays.

Kambua

At times, she would listen to the agonies of her friends who felt inconvenienced by a ‘badly-timed’ pregnancy.

In the waiting room I would walk with friends who were devastated at the ‘inconvenience’ of a badly timed pregnancy. Whoa.

It became the norm for her – that every time her hubby and her tried to conceive, the pregnancy results always turned out negative and it all tore her apart.

I didn’t know how accustomed I would be to the ONE line on a pregnancy test. Empty arms, empty womb, empty heart

Singer, Kambua

The light

But who is God? However hard it is to admit, indeed God’s time is the Best!

Kambua’s time to warm her home with a baby’s cry had come – God healed her heart and shifted her thoughts.

But then God healed me. He healed my heart and shifted my mind. He lifted my head even when mockery and shame arose. He remained the voice of truth. And after I had made my peace with him, that he would bless me in whichever way, at whatever time, then heaven moved.

Mother of one, Kambua

Apparently, she had gotten accustomed to the negative pregnancy results, day-in, day-out, for a whooping 7 years – such that when her blessing came her way, she got caught unawares.

My name was called. I had been next in line and didn’t even know it! With hope and yes, alot of anxiety I exited the waiting room and became a mother. God has honored me in ways I can never fathom. Not by anything I did, but by His grace. ⠀
He is a God who loves us. He is faithful. He remains undefeated. ????????????????

Only she truly understands how it felt on that very day, when her door opened.

Women ask me how I got pregnant – Kambua

Gospel singer and TV host, Kambua disclosed that women have been on her neck, asking what she did to get pregnant after 7 years of childlessness.

The now mother of 1 sadly revealed that people believe there is something she must have done to bear a child.

Sharing her story with Parents magazine, Mama Nate stated that trolls are the reason why she has not gone public about her child after delivery.

People are still trolling me about how I got pregnant – Kambua

Clearly stating that she has no answer to questions about her childbirth and only God can explain how she became a mum.

¨That´s why I tell people that Nathaniel is a miracle¨ she added.

Part of the reason I have been cautious about sharing my story with people on a larger scale is because ever since I got pregnant, I´ve had women ask me what exactly I did to get pregnant and I don´t have an answer for them. That´s why I tell people that Nathaniel is a miracle, and no one can take credit for it.

However, having gone through the battles, being bashed by society and shamed for lack of children, Kambua said she will speak for the voiceless.

My journey has been painful but I can now speak for other people -Kambua

The adorable gospel artist said she plans to create platforms where people will share their stories openly about infertility and get professional assistance thereafter.

I´m unafraid of having this kind of conversations because I know how it feels. My journey was painful, but it helped me speak up for other people who are constantly facing pressure from all kinds of places.

¨God is only getting started with me¨ Singer Kambua loudly reminds her critics

Gospel singer and TV host, Kambua has proven victorious to trolls regarding her ´barrenness´ after baring a son who silenced the world by giving her the title ´mother´.

They say God´s timing is the best and Kambua´s has never been any better. The mother to a handsome son, starts off:

All it takes is one move from God. Just one, and your story changes.

Taking a painful flashback to days when she was headlining the trolls regarding her lack of children, Kambua shamed them all:

They called me all sorts of things! Constantly reminded me that I didn’t have a seat at the table. Silenced me at every opportunity. But in the wait, and the longing, God looked at me and said I was worthy. He saw me as complete, lacking nothing.

She thanks God for changing her times and seasons because now, all who were punching her face, are all quiet.

He reminded me that He is the God who changes times and seasons. And after all the noise, after the mockery and public shaming, Jehovah Himself arose! He wiped my tears and gave me a new name.

For those who might have forgotten, she reminds them:

I am a mother y’all! To the cutest little boy I have ever laid my eyes on. This covenant-keeping God is only getting started with me, and I am not running after miracles; I’m running after His heart. ????

I really miss my baby´s kicks – Kambua lists her misses and miss-nots of pregnancy

Recent mum in town, Kambua graced her first ever pregnancy and she can never be prouder. However, she apparently misses pregnancy.

In a list of her ´misses´ and ´miss-nots´, she shared a throwback photo when she was not far from delivery.

First, she misses how she would feed on chunks of food and no one would question her. Second, she misses the priority she would be given as a ´pregnant´ woman wherever she went.

Third, is days her hubby would rub her feet, just to get that un-replaceable feeling. The fourth sure had to be taking photos without having to suck in her tummy.

And definitely, the last, is she misses her baby´s kicks.

Throwback! Here are a few things I miss about being pregnant ????????, as well as what I DON’T miss ????
1. I miss being able to eat food without people judging my portions ????
2. I miss being offered a seat wherever I went, or ushered to the front of the line
3. I miss my husband rubbing my feet
4. I miss not having to suck in my tummy when taking pictures ????
5. I really miss my baby’s kicks ????

Miss-nots

Let´s move on to her ´miss-nots´. Kambua does not miss anything exhausting or demanding that came with pregnancy.

That is the obvious: being hungry more often than not, being pretty sleepy and not having to sleep with all those pillows around her.

Not forgetting having to turn around in bed like a truck and hoping baby is okay. And definitely, Mama Nate does not miss the all-day sickness that comes in the first trimester.

1. I DON’T miss being hungry all the time
2. I don’t miss being very sleepy all day
3. I don’t miss having to sleep with so many pillows!
4. I don’t miss turning around like a truck in my sleep
5. I don’t miss all day sickness in my first tri.
6. I don’t miss the anxiety of constantly wondering if baby is ok

Opening her world to mothers out there probably in the moment or done with the moment, she welcomed all experiences on ´misses´ and ´miss-nots´ from her fans.
