Former Camp Mulla singer Miss Karun finally shares why she had to walk away from the group

Singer Karun has shared the real reason why she walked away from popular group Camp Mulla at the height of their fame.

According to the singer, she was just tired of the fame and attention she was getting from fans because it had its own pressure.

Camp Mulla in 2010 blew up and even almost won a BET award.

Pressure

The group, however, split just three years after it was formed following internal wrangles. Karun was only 19 years then and revealed the pressure drove her to quit.

I was tired of the fame. It was stifling me. I couldn’t make any mistake. I couldn’t experiment. I couldn’t really find out who I was or who I wanted to be because of people’s eyes I was already that girl from Camp Mulla,” the Standard quoted Karun.

Not washed up! Karun makes it to Forbes Africa 30 under 30

“As I celebrate a quarter-century on this planet, I’m forced to reflect on what a F*cking trip this has been! This past week has been quite challenging but I can’t help but feel excited for what’s to come!

“What’s made this birthday even better was receiving news that I’ve been named amongst some of the greatest creatives on the continent such as @BurnaBoyGram, @PetitNoirVintage, Sho Madjozi, Shekhinah and more on the @forbesafrica 30 under 30 2019 list.” she posted on social media.

Creatives

Karun, alongside producer, director and scriptwriter Kevin Njue and model, fashion stylist and creative Yaa Bonsu were named in the creative category.

Camp Mulla is dead! Don’t expect a reunion any time soon-Miss Karun

Hip hop group Camp Mulla last year attempted a comeback, getting fans excited in the process that one of their favorite crews will be ruling the airwaves once again like they used to. Camp Mulla even made a surprise performance at The Wave concert that had Nigerian artiste performing.

Time to move on

It seems that was the final action fans will ever get from the crew, according to one of their members. Speaking on Instagram using the new viral questioning extension, Karun said that the group is not thinking of a reunion since members have changed big time.

“Putting four heads together isn’t always smooth sailing. Especially when you’ve all grown so much. Just listen to our recent music, and you’ll see how each of us has grown so much in our own direction. We’re really sorry that the fans had to go through that “we’re back. No JK we’re not” situation. We really tried to work these past couple of months, and unfortunately it turned out to not be the best fit for all of us,” said Karun while answering a fan who wanted to know about the reunion.

Karun is among the young female artists who have accomplished a lot thanks to musical talent. She left Kenya for the United States where she studied music in Boston, but returned home a few months ago before welcoming her son.

The 22 year old singer welcomed a bouncing baby boy who she now paraded on her social media pages to flaunt him to her loyal fans. Despite looking after Prince she also continues to work on her music now that she is part of the music & art collective Cosmic Homies, alongside her close pals – Marushka, rapper Taio Trippper and poet/rapper Kiwango.

Karun shares another photo of her cute 2-month-old baby boy,

Singer Karun has shared the first photo of her son on her social media two months after she welcomed him to the world. The 22 year old lass has however been keeping a low profile about her personal life especially now that she is back in the country.

There is so much we are yet to find out about the young singer especially details about her baby daddy…but as for now fans seem contented with the fact that she shared a photo of the toddler on her gram.

We however don’t know his name but hopefully with time the lass will reveal this too. The photo shared on Instagram shows Karun holding her handsome son as he snuggles in her arms probably taking his afternoon nap.

Karun has however not revealed how long she is planning to stay in the country or what projects she is working on.
