Kenya’s Vocal Stars: Celebrities Turn Political Critics in a Time of Discontent

Kenya’s political landscape is witnessing a surge of unexpected voices: celebrities. Beyond their usual roles of musicians, comedians, and social media influencers, these personalities are emerging as vocal critics of President Ruto’s administration. Using their platforms and influence, they challenge policies, question decisions, and amplify public concerns – transforming mere observers into shapers of the national discourse.

From Scathing Verses to Bold Declarations:

  • Huddah Monroe: Once a supporter, the renowned influencer made a dramatic shift, labeling Ruto “Kenya’s worst president” due to economic woes. Her blunt criticism resonated with Kenyans facing rising costs of living.

  • Njugush: This comedian uses satire to skewer the government’s claims of free education and affordable healthcare, highlighting the stark reality of high prices and unemployment. He also criticizes the appointment of wealthy politicians amid inflation.

  • Madtraxx: The musician accused Ruto of deliberately “oppressing the country” to justify potential authoritarianism. While later advocating for prayer and support, his initial outburst echoed public anxieties.

  • Khaligraph Jones: In his hit song “Minimal Pressure,” the rapper critiques the failed “bottom-up” economic strategy and calls out perceived hypocrisy among creators who met with the president about taxation. His bold lyrics resonated with Kenyans struggling under economic hardship.

Beyond Entertainment: A Shift in Role:

These celebrities’ actions represent a significant shift. By stepping beyond their traditional spheres and engaging in political discourse, they:

  • Amplify Discontent: They give voice to widespread frustration with the government’s economic policies and perceived lack of action on pressing issues.

  • Challenge Narratives: They question official pronouncements and offer alternative perspectives, fostering critical thinking among the public.

  • Hold Power Accountable: They use their influence to scrutinize the government’s decisions and demand transparency, pushing for better governance.

This trend raises crucial questions:

  • Can celebrity involvement in politics effectively bring about change?

  • Will it polarize the public or encourage constructive dialogue?

  • How will it shape the future of political discourse in Kenya?

One thing is certain: the emergence of these vocal celebrities marks a new chapter in Kenyan politics, one where entertainment and activism increasingly intertwine. Time will tell how their influence will shape the nation’s future.

Khaligraph Jones getting called to perform in Sierra Leone is huge

Khaligraph Jones recently got called up for a performance in Sierra Leone and for some reason we are acting as if that was not a huge deal.

Khaligraph Jones vs Wizkid: Is rap dead?

The rapper who used to be marked for his Cadence and American accent in his music has finally proved his detractors wrong as he has shown that his target was never merely a local audience but an international one.

And like it or not there are no Kenyan artists who make music in Sheng who have been called to perform in any country outside of east Africa. Khaligraph Jones however has begun to take his music continental and one of the secrets of his success is the fact that English is a very widely spoken language meaning even fans from different countries can understand and relate to what he is saying.

Cashy Karimi VS Khaligraph Jones: Kenyan family law is flawed

On top of that he has also managed to shut up one of his biggest detractors in Eric Omondi complaining that Kenyan artists don’t seem to have a continental appeal. And with one move he has managed to checkmate his biggest critic. That is definitely a lovely sight to behold.

Khaligraph Jones wasn’t called for a club appearance no as he called for a tiny event rather from the videos we have seen online it was a Stadium concert and he had thousands if not hundreds of thousands of fans singing along to his music word-for-word and that a major coup for the Kenyan entertainment industry as it has opened up doors for other artists and acts to follow in his footsteps.

Khaligraph Jones Reminisces Last Call With Manduli As He Deeply Mourns Her

Khaligraph Jones has introduced himself to the west African Community and can now begin to grow a fan base outside of Sierra Leone and into neighbouring countries perhaps even Nigeria which has by far one of the biggest markets in terms of population and revenue in Africa.

Khaligraph Jones

What you need to do now is to focus on growing he’s here and Union base organically and perhaps he can score two more huge concerns there after which he can then set his eyes on conquering the anglophone markets in West Africa such as Ghana and Nigeria.

No one knows what the future holds for Khaligraph Jones, however, if the beginning of 2023 is anything to go by he is definitely going to create a bigger footprint for himself in African entertainment.

Wizkid is right about hiphop and Khaligraph embrace the fact that rap is dead

Wizkid recently had an interview with Peoples magazine where he threw shade at hiphop artists saying the genre no longer exists; and if anything – Afro pop is the new in thing….something many agree with.

According to the star, people no longer listen to hiphop like they used to back in the day…and I am thinking its only because African music has found it’s place in the music market across the globe.

You see, as much as hiphop started off as a ‘western thing’ not many caucasians really embraced it since it was more of a ‘black thing’ but when you look at Afro Pop….youd be shocked by the number of both blacks and caucasians who listen and jam to it.

Rap music associated with ‘gangs’

For example, look at Wizkid’s music….actually look at Rayvanny’s music which tops on most European music charts….but have you ever seen a Khaligraph Jones rap song appear anywhere? Well maybe Octopizzo but either way, he hasnt yet hit global charts.

Anyway Wizkid having said that, we all saw Khaligraph respond by claiming that hip hop js still alive and will show everyone.

Okay okay….let me stop you right there. Lets take out the accent from all Khaligraph Jones music, add a little african vibe….would you still listen to him rap over and over again? Probably not….and you still wonder why Wizkid says that Hiphop is dead?

I mean he could have named the likes of Sarkodie and the rest….but he spoke his truth which is, rap music is now a forgotten genre especially since many link it to gangs….and from the documentaries you’ve watch – don’t you agree?

Khaligraph Jones vs Wizkid: Is rap dead?

Wizkid seems to have incurred the Wrath of many an African rapper one of those being khaligraph Jones who took offence to the fact that Wiz says african hip hop is all but dead.

Cashy Karimi VS Khaligraph Jones: Kenyan family law is flawed

And you can feel how you do about that however it cannot be disputed that Wizkid is a great spokesperson for African music there for his opinions should not be taken lightly. Khaligraph Jones however is one of Kenya’s most prolific rappers so naturally he felt the need to speak out and defend hip hop.

But when we look at things objectively we do have to tackle the question of whether African hip-hop has a and had argued that it does. We just have to change our perspective on what makes up the audience. And for me to better explain this I use the example of uk-based Kenyan rapper Phineas or where or who goes by the stage name A1.

Khaligraph Jones dragged to court by baby mama for neglecting son

He is a hip hop artist who has managed to amass an audience of listeners on Spotify who gave him 270 million streams in 2022. Now that’s massive and it is a movement that people like khaligraph Jones and Wakadinali need to study and learn from.

Khaligraph Jones parades his red British beast

Perhaps khaligraph Jones should steal a page from Wizkidayo’s PlayBook and begin to focus on Kenyans in the diaspora as well as the international market the reason for this is firstly that the international audience has the money to support an artist’s career by it by streaming or buying concert tickets. And secondly there’s the fact that they actually have the luxury of time to truly form a fanbase.

Cashy vs Khaligraph Jones: Is child support meant for the child or mother?

Kenyans are not known to support their own however that is a localised problem. Kenyans in the diaspora have a huge appetite for Kenyan content but they aren’t enough to truly boost an artist into the stratosphere so perhaps khaligraph Jones should look into collaborating with other African artists as a way of introducing himself to new Markets and audiences.

Mahater! Khaligraph Jones totally pissed off by hater who left scratch marks on his sleek Range Rover ride (Video)

If as he says African hip hop then the onus falls upon him to become more aggressive in his marketing and attempt to penetrate new markets as well as make more radio hits and club bangers as opposed to making music for his die-hard audience.

Is Eric Omondi washed up?

Eric Omondi has earned the ire of the entire entertainment fraternity with Bien, Khaligraph and Kamene Goro being the most vocal about their displeasure and outright contempt for his opinions on what ails the Kenyan entertainment scene.

Eric Omondi Reveals His Girlfriend Once Dumped Him For Another Woman (Video)

And some of the words being thrown about seem to indicate that the trio think the comedian washed up and washed out. That’s right, a lot of celebrities are claiming the former Churchill Ndambuki protege a faded star clinging to the spotlight.

Eric Omondi cross dressing

But do they have a point? Is Eric Omondi truly washed out? I would argue that he’s not. Whether or not you like him and his brand of comedy and whether or not you like his opinions on what ails the Kenyan entertainment scene -and most celebs don’t- Eric Omondi is anything but washed up.

Eric Omondi has a point BUT…

You see, in order to determine whether or not a comedian is washed up, we need to look at their last pieces of work and performances. This isn’t about whether or not you find his body of work hilarious because humour is subjective.

Eric Omondi has been working! He has been touring the globe performing with his most recent performance being in Uganda and before that, he was invited to Egypt and before that, the Gulf region. So he clearly has his fans and they are giving him work.

Why Eric Omondi is experiencing extreme weight gain and loss

What about the content he put out? The last one that comes to mind was his dating show which was the talk of the entire country back in 2021. Let that sink in, whether or not you remember it’s name (it was called Wife Material by the way), you cannot pretend not to remember that he had a very interesting and controversial dating show.

So, as you can see, you cannot deny Eric Omondi’s success. You cannot deny that he still has clout and relevance. Sure, he does get up to doing some rather immature publicity stunts but regardless of all that, he is truly a popular comedian.

Crazy Kennar weighs in on Eric Omondi’s Cross dressing, leaves fans in stitches

It is also worth noting that most of his detractors cannot attack the points he is making hence their decision to make their arguments about his relevance.

Eric Omondi

Fo once we are going to emerge from an article with an answer, is he washed up? No. Definitely not. If anything Eric Omondi might shock many by having his career outlast those of some of his detractors. Or at least his legacy… How? Well, should the bill he is pushing to have Kenyan media houses mandated to play 75% Kenyan content, he will have gone down not only in the Hansards of Parliament but also in Kenyan history.

Eric Omondi has a point BUT…

Eric Omondi has been on a warpath with several celebrities after he called them out for not being exciting -basically not participating or creating publicity stunts.

Why Eric Omondi is experiencing extreme weight gain and loss

Besides this, he’s been crying and complaining about the fact that many foreign artists (read Nigerian) have been given opportunities to perform in Kenya when our own artists aren’t afforded the same opportunities.

Eric Omondi cross dressing

Eric Omondi has gone as far as to claim he has sponsored a bill to be tabled in parliament that seeks to address this issue which would be very interesting to see debated.

Why Eric Omondi needs to stop responding to Kamene Goro

Well, what is wrong with all this jazz? It would appear his intentions are positive and he is trying to do the right thing that will eventually benefit Kenyan artists in Kenya. So why is everyone clamouring for his head?

Well, it all boils down to the question of “HOW?” he has gone about it. Because you see, rather than build consensus with other celebrities and artists, he has taken to antagonising them.

Eric Omondi and Dennis Karuri expose the homosexuality of Kenyan men

Sadly, this is the wrong approach. I say that because he is simply making a mockery of his attempts and as a result, rather than us discussing the merit of what Eric Omondi is trying to push, we are discussing his idiotic feud with Bien, his idiotic feud with Khaligraph Jones aswell as his idiotic feud with Kamene Goro.

Eric Omondi and Ms P

And don’t get me wrong, all parties involved are idiots. They are incapable of putting their trivial issues to the side and discussing the merits or demerits of what the comedian is saying without things devolving into personal attacks and side issues.

Every woman needs a pocket simp like Eric Omondi

Eric Omondi has a point, Kenyans aren’t fully invested in supporting their own artists. That is why Ruger can attract 10,000 revellers while Nyashinski could only manage about 2,500. But Nyashinski, Sauti Sol, Khaligraph Jones and a few other acts who not only have a grassroots following but also corporate support AND IT’S STILL NOT ENOUGH.

And that is before we even consider the question of whether or not our artists would get corporate support to host a concert in Nigeria. Think Lagos, let alone Enugu.

Eric Omondi Narrates How Moses Kuria Significantly Contributed To The Success Of His Career

Eric Omondi has a point but he is not a leader. He is not the type of personality people would follow. Why? Because he is too invested in making this push, this movement he is struggling to gain momentum for because he wants to make this a cult of personality. He wants people to worship him or give him some sort of blind loyalty and adoration.

Eric Omondi

He has started a conversation, he should be willing to take a step back and allow other parties to be the face of the push while he steers the conversation from the back room. That would allow even those celebs who have an axe to grind with him to be part of this push.

Cashy Karimi is everything wrong with baby mama culture

Cashy Karimi this morning reminded me why I loathe baby mama culture and I have to say that this is something that we need to address as a nation before we head in the direction of America’s Foundational Black American community. And the single mother epidemic is the reason American culture is on the decline!

Cashy Karimi VS Khaligraph Jones: Kenyan family law is flawed

“According to the survey, a Kenyan woman has a 59.5 percent chance of being a single mother by the age of 45 either through pre-marital birth or dissolution of a union. The research also established that about 30 percent of women in Kenya are giving birth before they are married.”

Miss Cashy with son, Xolani

And the reason this is an issue is that it is making the victim Olympics a whole thing. Am I referring to the fact that this rapper is dragging her child into the depths of the mud pit that is her fight with Xolani’s father, Omollo. For starters, we are not the right people for her to be battling her custody wars infront of. We do not care. And the fact that Cashy Karimi is blind to this is very telling. I don’t know what you understand from her actions but to me, she strikes me as a very narrow-minded and short-term thinking individual who wants to attempt to burn down the bridge simply because she hasn’t been allowed across it.

Khaligraph Jones and his toxic baby mama Cashy Karimi

Khaligraph Jones definitely has a part to play in all this. However, he is smart to remain silent as this battle rages on. That is masculine stoicism. But it is also wisdom. He is a man who is aware that today’s wars shape tomorrow’s reality. And there are some statements and actions that you can’t walk back on. So he is minding his tongue in public so that when the little boy is grown, he will not see much of anything outside of the fact that Omollo claimed his mother cheated on him.

Cashy

But back to the single mother issue at hand: Cashy Karimi at the start of all this was on record boasting that her father would step up and be a father figure for the young boy she had borne. She stated that her son would lack for nothing and that he would be adequately provided for. So why the change of tune?

‘He Is Building A Mansion Yet He Has Neglected His Own Child’-Khaligraph Jones Baby Mama Cashy Karimi

She is now acting like if Khaligraph Jones were to meet an unfortunate untimely demise or were to fall off the face of the map, her son wouldn’t be able to get an education or she would be unable to provide for her child. Again I ask, why the sudden change in tune?

Cashy exposes baby daddy

By my estimation, she is trying to force her ex-boyfriend’s hand. She is trying to emotionally blackmail him publicly in the hopes that the shame she is piling on him will make him decide that he wants to play an active role in Cashy Karimi’s son’s life but this has failed spectacularly so why she keeps going at it is beyond me. At this point, it is even just embarrassing.

Cashy Karimi Needs To Stop Sharing Her Issues With Khaligraph Jones

The reason I want to tuck this in with single mother culture is that she should have waited to marry Khaligraph before she gave him the ultimate honour she can bestow on a man by carrying his child to term. Now she thinks she makes him look some type of way -and maybe she has achieved this in certain circles- but she only is hard at work making herself look dumb.

Khaligraph Jones baby mama, Cashy

This is the Brittany Renner story all over again. Women think they have finessed men and trapped them with a baby when all they have done is trap themselves in a vicious cycle that gives their offspring all sorts of disadvantages. That is what Cashy Karimi has managed to do here.

On to the next: Cashy’s Caucasian boyfriend steps in to play daddy after Khaligraph Jone neglects son? (Video)

Women have all sorts of options when it comes to birth control options so why she didn’t exercise any of them is beyond me. But now that we find ourselves here, she needs to realise that this BS is unbecoming especially after she disparaged Omollo. She needs to cut her losses and focus on raising her child on her own. That way, what is currently her burden will become her win!

Instead, we are being treated to he-said-she-said games that Cashy Karimi is playing alone. Just another statistic of unhappy single mothers.

Cashy Karimi VS Khaligraph Jones: Kenyan family law is flawed

Cashy Karimi has taken to social media to reveal she is feeling under pressure to hand her son by Khaligraph Jones over to him for him to raise as one of his children with his wife, Georgina Amali.

Khaligraph Jones and his toxic baby mama Cashy Karimi

This has been quite the roller coaster affair as the former couple has been embroiled in a fight firstly over paternity and now over child support. Bt what most do not know is that rumour has it that Cashy now has a Canadian man who wants to move back with her to Canada to settle down and Khaligraph Jones is asking to be allowed to remain in Kenya with his son so he might raise him.

That is quite the complicated conundrum right? But when you think about it critically, it really shouldn’t be. You see, Cashy Karimi and her ex-beau have had an issue ever since they broke up. Things quickly devolved into a he-said, she-said situation with him accusing her of cheating on him.

‘He Is Building A Mansion Yet He Has Neglected His Own Child’-Khaligraph Jones Baby Mama Cashy Karimi

After that, Khaligraph Jones moved on with his life even though she was clearly heavily pregnant. Perhaps he didn’t think she was heavy with his child or maybe he didn’t care but who knows? What is clear is the fact that the former rapper was having none of it! After going on record to say her father would be an apt replacement for Omollo, she quickly did a double take and sued him for upkeep.

Cashy Karimi unveils boyfriend

Khaligraph resisted and even fought against having to submit for a paternity test but it did come out positive, proving once and for all that he is Xolani’s father. And after this small win, Cashy found herself in a bind as the father of her son made a rather logical request; he wanted to be allowed to raise their son.

‘I’ll Never Give Him The Child’-Khaligraph Jone’s Baby Mama Cashy Karimi Speaks

You see, child support isn’t money meant to help the mother sustain her lifestyle. It is meant to help raise the child which is an expensive endeavour in and of itself. But when a woman sues her baby daddy for upkeep, she is clearly admitting that she cannot afford to raise the child.

Miss Cashy with son, Xolani

However, in Khaligraph Jones’ case, he can. And what’s more, he is able to offer a more solid home for young Xolani as he has a wife and together they have 2 children. Using deductive logic, on the face of things, isn’t he the better option for a parent?

Cashy Karimi Needs To Stop Sharing Her Issues With Khaligraph Jones

And that is why Cashy Karimi took to social media to ask whether people thought it to be a good idea. Of course, there is the question of cultural differences given that in Khaligraph’s Luo traditions, he would automatically be given his son to raise.

Khaligraph Jones baby mama, Cashy

This is a case of getting what you want only to regret the outcome. Cashy Karimi as a mother has every right to ask the courts to help her raise her child as best as she can with support from the child’s father. And the courts have indeed helped her get to this point. On the flipside, Khasligraph Jones has every right as the father of the child to suggest he be given custody of the child given he has a more stable household and can take care of his son better.

Khaligraph Jones and his toxic baby mama Cashy Karimi

By now you already know that Khaligraph Jones is being dragged through the mud by his former girlfriend and baby mama (not to mention one-hit-wonder), Cashy Karimi. What is rather interesting about all this is the fact that she is the type you would expect to be an Independent Woman Who Don’t Need No Man™ yet she is stuck on him.

‘He Is Building A Mansion Yet He Has Neglected His Own Child’-Khaligraph Jones Baby Mama Cashy Karimi

The entire situation generated a rather interesting conversation between my friends and I as we debated who -if anyone- was on the wrong. My money is on her being on the wrong and I will explain to you why I am willing to die on this hill.

Cashy Karimi unveils boyfriend

When Khaligraph Jones and Cashy Karimi broke up, he accused her of cheating on him. She remained silent on the entire affair. I, however, have a more interesting take on things… What if he never wanted the baby to begin with? You see, unlike with women, men have no say on whether or not the baby will be conceived (due to all the birth control options available to women) and whether or not the baby will be carried to term (the final solution).

Cashy Karimi takes a swipe at Khaligraph Jones wife, reveals she was the side chic not the other way round

Do we know whether that was the case? No. But what if it was? If a woman can say something like, “My body my choice”, then why can’t a man say the same about everything he has agency over? Why can’t a man choose where and when to invest his time, effort and money?

Cashy

Feminists will call a woman who had the presence of mind to terminate a pregnancy a good woman, a woman who was mindful of her future but when a man aborts his financial responsibility to a baby he never wanted, he is a deadbeat dad? Make it make sense.

‘I’ll Never Give Him The Child’-Khaligraph Jone’s Baby Mama Cashy Karimi Speaks

I should reiterate at this point that we do not know whether this is how things played out but the fact still remains that we should respect a man’s decision to opt out of a pregnancy. But again, we do not know whether or not this played out between Khaligraph Jones and Cashy Karimi.

Khaligraph Jones with ex, Cashy

That said, the reason why I say she is a toxic, poisonous baby mama is because of the manner in which she has been conducting herself. She has become petty and does irrelevant things out of spite. Case in point was when Georgina Amali, Khaligraph Jones’ wife celebrated his 32nd birthday with a touching series of birthday wishes on social media. None of you can convince me that Cashy Karimi’s messages mocking what she said were called for. I understand that she is hurting and she is bitter because of the way things played out between them but why drag his family into it? Even if there is behind the scenes drama between his wife and baby mama, why would she bring it to our attention?

Cashy Karimi Needs To Stop Sharing Her Issues With Khaligraph Jones

Also, there is the fact that this is no longer about doing what is right by their son. The reason I say this is because Cashy Karimi is a Kikuyu and Khaligraph Jones a Luo. The two communities have different customs with regard to children and lineage. According to her custom, the children are the mother’s (matrilineal) while according to his customs, the children are the fathers (patrilineal).

Mahater! Khaligraph Jones totally pissed off by hater who left scratch marks on his sleek Range Rover ride (Video)

He has come out to say that he wants to be given his son (after the paternity test confirmed paternity) so he could be raised under his roof. She has refused. Why? She is claiming to be struggling to provide for the boy so how does it make sense that you want the boy raised in deprivation while his father wants to raise him in abundance?

Cashy vs Khaligraph Jones: Is child support meant for the child or mother?

And I should not have to mention the fact that statistics tell us that children born to complete nuclear families are more balanced and have better odds of being successful than those raised by single mothers. Children raised by single mothers also have a higher chance of getting involved in crime and drug abuse. I don’t know about you but sometimes loving someone means letting them pursue a path that allows them the best odds of succeeding even if it guts us.

The Omollo’s

Unlike Khaligraph Jones and Cashy Karimi, I don’t have children nor do I have a baby mama so I am speaking as an uninformed observer who is basing his arguments on cold, hard facts. But one thing I know is that the constant online fights (which in all honesty are started and sustained by her) will do little for the boy’s wellbeing. Since she cannot get things to play out as she wants, she might aswell maintain her dignity and silence and move on with life.

Cashy vs Khaligraph Jones: Is child support meant for the child or mother?

Cashy Karimi, a rapper with one collaborative hit under her belt that she did with her ex-boyfriend, Khaligraph Jones has been rather vocal about her disdain for the rapper who was at one point in time not just her lover but benefactor aswell. The reason for this being the fact that when she fell pregnant, the Kayole born and bred MC distanced himself from both her and her child.

‘I’ll Never Give Him The Child’-Khaligraph Jone’s Baby Mama Cashy Karimi Speaks

Since then, she has yelled from the mountain tops, rooftops and wherever else that song mentions, trying to get the attention of not just Khali but his fans aswell to alert them to the fact that she considers him a deadbeat father.

Cashy

Whether or not this has worked for cashy, one thing is certain, it did catch Khaligraph Jones’ attention and he decided to request a paternity test. the results weren’t brought up by him but rather by her which is very telling in and of itself but what happened next would shock many not native to the tribes of Western Kenyan and parts of the Rift Valley: he demanded his son.

Khaligraph Jones baby mama finally unveils mzungu boyfriend’s face (Photo)

If you know a thing or two about the different ethnicities in Kenya, then you’re aware that Khaligraph Jones’ request isn’t strange. He is a Luo and the people of that tribe are patrilineal. The children are the fathers by right and often, when a dispute occasions a divorce or separation, the man of the house is left with his children. Curiously enough, Cashy Karimi is a Kikuyu which is a matrilineal community which believes all children belong to the mother. In essence, the two communities have a diametrically opposed.

Rapper Cashy

However, be that as it may be, the truth of the matter is that Khaligraph Jones is doing rather well for himself and has been raking in millions from his business and his craft. Cashy Karimi is a fresh graduate still finding her feet in the world. She has not established herself and both her and her son live off the providence of her father.

Cashy Karimi Needs To Stop Sharing Her Issues With Khaligraph Jones

There is nothing wrong with her case. However, she has been urging Khali to send her upkeep for her son. and that now raises the reason for this opinion piece; is child support supposed to help her or the child? because if we use logic and argue that it is meant to go for maintenance of the child and afford them a decent lifestyle, then the argument can be made for her to relinquish guardianship of her son over to his father as he has been requesting.

Miss Cashy with son, Xolani

Afterall, Khaligraph Jones can offer a more stable home for their child given that he is married (common-law) to Georgina Muteti. The couple already has two children of their own sop the eldest oh the MC’s kids won’t have to grow up alone -for the foreseeable future anyway.

‘Time to pay up’ Cashy exposes Khaligraph Jones for neglecting 3 year old son

That way, Cashy’s demands will have been met and she will have acted in the best interest of their child. Infact, the Kenyan courts of law have already established precedence on the matter and so, if she really wants me to believe her argument that she wants what’s best for her son, why not give him over to his father? Unless ofcourse, the whole concept of child support that she’s touting is infact just to line her pockets?

Seriously though, I am eager to hear a counter to my opinion. But until then, she needs to stop playing the victim as if she were the first single mother involved in the victim Olympics. Call Khaligraph’s bluff and let’s take things from there.

Khaligraph’s secret source of multi-millions

When a lot of people think about Khaligraph, they see the OG as a rapper whom very few others want to mess with whether lyrically or otherwise. He is not only talented but a behemoth of a man, being both tall and muscle-bound.

Bora Pesa- Khaligraph Jones Shares His Point Of View On Curtain-Raising For International Artists

He burst onto the scene in a similar fashion to the way 50 Cent did, beefing with other established rappers. His target of choice, however, was singularly just Octopizzo. And my word, he let the man feel his lyrical wrath. And while Octopizzo too is a competent rapper, he was not interested in engaging in beef with Khaligraph, viewing him as small fry.

The OG however, used the little buzz he got from Octo and continued to release hit after hit and he eventually cemented himself within the collective Kenyan psyche for being not just a great lyricist but also a certified hit rapper. Nearly every song he released was a banger, a trend that continues to date.

Mulamwah’s Millions

He set up a studio to ensure he had full control over his creative process and it is called Blue Ink. But this is not about that venture as many people know about it, it is about the venture that grew from his other passion, he has a vehicle restoration garage, Omollo Customz.

It has a carwash and bodywork shop including but not limited to panel beating and paintwork (yup, even candy coating). Besides him always having a passion for vehicles, I am guessing the carwash was motivated by the fact that he once had a carwash attendant crash his still newly acquired Subaru. This was back in 2015. He probably vowed never to have to be in the same situation ever again.

It is actually a very brilliant thing to do, turning your passion into a business. And, if you, like Khaligraph Jones are looking to expand your business, beyond the current location, you can partner with Co-op Bank and work out a solution with their credit service team:

That’s right, Co-op Bank is offering a credit service called the Business Plus Loan which is tailored to help you achieve your target of growing your business beyond what it currently sits at. That is actually the crux of my issue with this entire situation. She chose the man, therefore, she is responsible and accountable for her decisions. Instead, she keeps making their issues public like we are her midwives.

Khaligraph Jones with ex, Cashy

I get it, she is unhappy that Khaligraph Jones allegedly moved on from her. We get it, she claims theirs was an abusive relationship meaning she probably wants to see the universe serve some sort of justice on her behalf but what does that have to do with us? That is the question no one is answering.

Weuh! Cashy shares Mpesa receipts showing how much child support Khaligraph Jones has paid in 2 years!

I would strongly suggest that Cashy Karimi simply focuses on herself and her child. She needs to focus on actually putting herself in a position to provide for their child without needing Khaligraph Jones’ input.

I would be advising her to stop telling the general public what is going on between them because when things were going great, we were not consulted on anything including the birth control method they would employ -and clearly, nothing was used.

Khaligraph Jones Ex girlfriend rapper Cashy shows off her figure in tiny black lingerie (Photo)

We simply do not care and Cashy Karimi needs to understand this. Hii story ni yake na Khaligraph Jones, sijui penye tunaingilia. She chose to lay with the man and even when the relationship was toxic, she chose to persevere. She needs to keep that same energy and remain mum on whatever it is that is transpiring between them and their broken family.

Cashy

Like it or not, it is Khaligraph’s time and money to choose to do with as he pleases and he is clearly not interested in either Cashy Karimi nor their child so she needs to move on and stop her unhealthy fixation with humiliating him through ill-advised public diatribe meant to elicit sympathy. So what if her feminist fans and supporters join their voices to theirs? At the end of the day, she is the only parent willing to actively parent her son she needs to focus on that.

Why Wizzo Tanonane has captured the attention of Kenyans

Wizzo Tanonane: If ever there was a random man who stumbled into fame, it would have to be him. The young man has been put at the very forefront of every Kenyan who follows celebrities and entertainment.

‘Heirras gonna hate;’ Wizzo Tanonane reveals huge amount he spent on his Silver teeth caps

To the uninitiated, he is simply a troll and hater and we are paying attention to him because he was attacking Khaligraph Jones and other celebrities but I am here to show you why your opinion on the matter sucks but mine is right.

Wizzo Tanonane
Wizzo Tanonane

You see, Wizzo Tanonane started out by calling Khaligraph for rocking “mbwakni” designer clothes and Jordan kicks (that means they are fake) and to his credit, the OG just brushed it off.

Who’s Laughing Now? Khaligraph Shuts Down Tanonane By Using His Slang ‘Kwani Kesho’ In His New Track

He hasn’t responded even after he was called out for rocking fake jewellery. But Wizzo Tanonane is actually right to call out Kenyan artists. Why portray a false image of success instead of reflecting the realities on the ground?

Wizzo Tanotena attacked Khaligraph Jones

That means that if your circumstances do not allow you to rock designer outfits, stop fronting. Go to Gikomba and pick out some designer outfits on thrift sales and then own that situation.

The disrespect! Khaligraph Jones belittles singer Bahati in new war of words

And that is a huge reason why there is a disconnect between Kenyans and their favourite artists. Wizzo Tanonane is speaking to our frustration at artists always trying to be flashy for a few months then coming to beg us for welfare assistance.

Wizzo Tanotena

There are afew artists who have gotten to the point where their careers afford them afew luxuries but that is far from the reality for alot of artists. So why pretend? We often hear artists complain that they feel pressured to put up fake appearance and the question that comes to mind is, “By who?”

OGs Must Be Respected! Khaligraph Jones Bags MTN’s East African Rapper Of The Year.

Wizzo Tanonane is right, stop rocking fake Jordans when you can be guaranteed the original article from Gikomba. Stop rocking fake chains that are turning your necks green when you can simply get an actual steel chain and own the fact that you’re not yet at the level where you can buy silver or gold chains.
Let us keep things authentic. Know why? that is how you create an audience that identifies with your journey.

Siasa moto moto: Octopizzo vs Khaligraph Jones fight over ending Covid19 lockdown

Octopizzo has decided to be the consummate contrarian and has begun attacking Khaligraph Jones for his stand on whether or not to open the country and whether or not to open up the economy to allow Kenyans to get back to earning a living.

Octopizzo is not wrong about Kenyans not supporting our own but…

You see, in all fairness, they both have great reasons backing their arguments. Khaligraph Jones wants to alleviate entertainers’ financial suffering which would also allow all the people who work within the entertainment sector to get back to gainful employment.

Octopizzo
Octopizzo

Octopizzo, on the other hand, seems to be intimately familiar with 50 grandmothers in Kibera who have succumbed to the deaths being caused by Covid19. And so to him, the country is under lockdown for the sake of such “at-risk” demographies.

“Unafanya handshake?” Fans react to Octopizzo’s congratulatory message to Khaligraph Jones

But the truth as they say, is somewhere in between both arguments. Yes, the elderly are indeed dying in droves when exposed to Covid19 but at the same time, the millennial generation and a lot of Gen Z members who aren’t susceptible to Covid19 unless there are underlying circumstances that exacerbate their health situations when exposed to it are more at risk from financial ruin.

Khaligraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones wants to see an end to the lockdown

So what is one to do? Where should one lean in this clash of the titans? With Octopizzo or Khaligraph Jones? Should we expose the youth to financial ruin or should we instead leave the responsibility to take care of themselves to the elderly and obese?

Octopizzo made a fool of himself by supporting MCSK

I am of the opinion that there is both a shallow and deeper reason for the Octopizzo and Khaligraph schism of thought on the matter and how to handle things. For starters, Octo is salty that he was not invited by the OG to be part of the think tank formed to chart a course for how entertainers can be aided. That is the petty reason. And as a result, he is selfishly allowing his fee-fees and ego to lead him on.

Khaligraph Jones, King Kaka
Khaligraph Jones has also found his stance opposed by King Kaka who took shots at the Kayole rapper

The other reason is the clear political lines being drawn up for the elections due next year. Khaligrapph Jones reached out to both Raila Odinga and William Ruto but it was the latter who reached out and not the former who is a member of his ethnic community. Octopizzo on the other hand is leaning towards the argument being pushed by Raila Odinga.

Did Khaligraph Jones sell out or is this smart political play?

I suspect they are both (whether knowingly or ignorantly) entrenching themselves as features of the political schism that will play out between these two principle figures. Octopizzo will try and ingratiate himself to Raila thinking that was what Khaligraph Jones was doing with Ruto.

Octopizzo can pretend to having lofty reasons for standing by Covid19 lockdowns but he doesn’t really make money from the local Kenyan entertainment scene. He has international donors who keep him financially afloat. Khaligraph Jones is the more popular of the two and he makes his money from the local entertainment scene. Perhaps this tidbit of information will help you further understand why the two cannot see things from the same point of view. But at the end of the day, while Khaligraph has attempted to provide a way forward, all Octo has done is complain and bitch. So if all you like doing is to complain, you know with whom you stand.

Did Khaligraph Jones sell out or is this smart political play?

Khaligraph Jones recently cried out to both William Ruto and Raila Odinga for help with the ramifications of the poorly thought out Covid19 lockdown measures that were instituted by Uhuru Kenyatta who doesn’t seem to give a damn about the economy or the suffering these measures have unleashed on Kenyans.

Khaligraph Jones has shown a keen understanding of how politics should be handled

You see, these lockdown measures are bullshit because they fail to take into account the fact that Kenya has no social welfare programs that take care of the underprivileged and affected Kenyans who are struggling to pay rent or earn a living.

khaligraph jones
Khaligraph Jones cried out to the most powerful politicians for help

And entertainers are some of the most affected as their source of livelihood was inordinately targeted and Khaligraph Jones was unhappy that he has been exposed to ruinous circumstances because his main source of income is affected.

It’s about to get lit! Khaligraph Jones and Nyashinski spotted together at unknown recording studio – sparking collabo rumors

When he called out for help, Raila Odinga ignored him but Ruto decided to try and meet up with him and his fellow artists so that they can discuss how best to help the affected artists, DJs, comedians and other entertainers.

Khaligraph has been called out by afew artists for selling out

But now Khaligraph Jones is faced with some measure of blowback from other artists who feel that he has sold out by turning to one of the people who a lot of Kenyans rightfully feel is responsible for putting us in this garbage situation.

Prophecy foretold? Khaligraph Jones’ words of wisdom come back to haunt Shakilla, 2 years later (Video)

King Kaka and Octopizzo are the most vocal in declaring their disagreement with Khaligraph Jones’ approach and I am not too sure why they are pontificating and bellyaching instead of looking for a solution.

King Kaka
Kenyan rapper King Kaka mocked Khaligraph Jones

You see, Khaligraph Jones is an artist but he is also a father and husband. An entire family depends on him to provide for them. And as such, he has to do anything he can to improve his situation so he can get back to earning as much as he possibly can.

Why King Kaka’s plus size video vixen stunt backfired

When it comes to fixing situations, we have to understand that while some might not agree with his approach, they cannot do anything but shut up until they find some course of action that they implement. Activity trounces opinions and suggestions.

Octopizzo
Octopizzo decided to also call out his long-standing nemesis

If Khaligraph Jones is to be condemned for trying to alleviate his personal suffering, it will not be from artists who have done absolutely nothing to solve their own headaches. We cannot foster a culture in which grown men would rather complain and whine than be proactive and take action.

If Octopizzo and King Kaka want to show Khaligraph Jones up, it will only be through action. Them sharing their feelings on social media will not be doing anything because we are in a put up or shut up situation. But time will tell whether or not

Khaligraph Jones has shown a keen understanding of how politics should be handled

Khaligraph Jones has been demonized heavily this past week after he sought to find a solution for the Uhuru Kenyatta mandated Covid 19 lockdowns that many people have argued against as it is so ill-informed and poorly executed, it is causing more harm than good to Kenyans and our economy.

Never seen before photo of Khaligraph Jones wife as a plus size!

Sure, there are some voices supporting the measures but when you talk to people who aren’t involved in the stealing and looting of Covid 19 loans, you will find that an overwhelming majority of Kenyans are against the punitive measures.

Khaligraph Jones
Popular rapper Khaligraph Jones became political recently

And Khaligraph Jones decided to use his voice to directly address the deputy president and former prime minister, William Ruto and Raila Odinga to try and seek a way for him to help alleviate his suffering as entertainers are some of the most affected in all this mess.

It’s about to get lit! Khaligraph Jones and Nyashinski spotted together at unknown recording studio – sparking collabo rumors

And at this point, the political fractures in our country were exposed. Khaligraph Jones’ fans were divided along political (and ethnic lines) as those who support either faction saw it as a problem that he was trying to consort with the other faction.

Khaligraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones has asked Ruto and Raila for help unlocking the country

Even other artists called him out and began to attack him based on what he had posted as they tried to virtue signal how noble their political intent is and how aware they are of their civic duties and rights but that is the type of diatribe that solves nothing as the prevalent situation persists.

Georgina reveals hubby’s, Khaligraph Jones soft side that fans know nothing about

You see, OG is approaching this from a very smart place as he knows that you can only negotiate with someone who would want something from you. And in this case, Uhuru Kenyatta has shown he doesn’t care for anything nor anyone and all this is just an ego trip as he enjoys exerting his power over the lives of ordinary Kenyans.

Khaligraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones is sick and tired of the lockdown as most of us are

Khaligraph Jones is being a smart man because when we look at the political landscape, whoever feels they can benefit more from an alliance and it is clearly William Ruto in this case who is eager to forge a way forward that is mutually beneficial to both parties.

Prophecy foretold? Khaligraph Jones’ words of wisdom come back to haunt Shakilla, 2 years later (Video)

Now, think back to what I said about Otile Brown yapping about being civic aware… What solution is on the offing from his approach? You have to crack a few eggs to make an omelette and Khali is aware of that. Think about it, from William Ruto, given the context of our political landscape, Uhuru Kenyatta is bound to take notice of what is happening.

He is the smart guy here. He is getting involved to sort out his problems. They affect his stomach so he is now moving to solve his headache. I would suggest we learn from this enlightened selfishness.

Kenyan celebs only get political when their stomachs are threatened and that is not wrong

Kenyan celebrities such as Khaligraph Jones, Dj Joe Mfalme and all the rest only ever get political when their stomachs are on the line and while this seems like a self-serving trait, it is actually how we are supposed to engage in political discourse.

From Omosh to Alvan and David Major: Kenyan celebs cannot keep lying that we do not support them

You see, Kenyan celebs are inherently selfish. The likes of Khaligraph Jones and DJ Joe Mfalme, Bahati and all your favourite acts are all just driven by their stomachs. They do not care whether or not things go right for you or the rest of the nation unless it affects their bottom line and at that point, they begin to rally people to their cause.

Khaligraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones has began demanding the country is opened up

This is actually done for two reasons that IQ want us to delve deeper into so I can prove that this is actually how the rest of Kenyans should engage in politics and with politicians especially if we want a mature democracy rather than the low IQ political discourse that usually happens centred around tribal and ethnic political thinking.

Meet Dgohnie, the man behind the dope hairstyles of most female Kenyan celebs

Kenyan celebrities are just beginning to talk publicly about the national lockdown and curfew that is in force and they are doing so because they more than anyone else have been disproportionately affected and they are losing income and they can no longer perform at night and even public gatherings are restricted. And the reason they are doing this is that they are usually beholden to politicians who are either their patrons or whose supporters will divide themselves along tribal lines meaning celebs can actually lose face an fans by supporting the wrong political factions.

DJ Joe Mfalme
Dj Joe Mfalme has joined in with the voices of artists calling for Kenya to be unlocked

A case in point would be with BBI that is currently being debated. Can you imagine a Jaluo artist publicly saying they are against it when the Luo lynchpin and kingmaker, Raila Odinga has been canvassing the country drumming up support for BBI? Or someone from Ruto’s backyard saying they support BBI. That could be career suicide.
And so Khaligraph Jones and Octopizzo cannot really be seen to be going against the grain of their ethnicity. So you have to understand why they avoid getting political unless their pockets are being affected.

Lilian Muli is an example of why you must never take Kenyan celeb advice seriously

Then there is the real reason why Kenyan celebs are smart for only speaking when their stomachs are affected: that is what politics is all about -self-interest. Too often, Kenyans vote against their own self-interest simply because their political chieftain and the sycophantic witchdoctors they keep around them tell them it is what is in the best interest for their tribe.

Bahati
Bahati was among the first to call for the country to be opened up

If there is anything we should learn from Kenyan celebs such as Khaligraph Jones, DJ Joe Mfalme and all the others calling for the country to be unlocked is that we should only ever engage our political leaders to guide their agendas… No, to demand that their agendas reflect our interests. demand your MP goes to parliament and pushes for some sort of social security for you if your job has been affected by the lockdowns. Insist your governor put in place measures to protect you from getting kicked out of your home or you and your family having to sleep hungry.

And I can only hope that our mind;ling intelligence celebrities can now learn how to plan well in advance and see that their self interests should not only be addressed when things are dire. They need to start protecting themselves well in advance.

Khaligraph Jones mzungu wife introduces adorable baby boy weeks after giving birth (Photos)

Khaligraph Jones is now a father of 3 all thanks to his beautiful wife, Georgina Muteti who recently welcomed their son.

The excited couple announced this on their social media pages where they shared several photos of the new born; and judging from the few photos making rounds on social media, let’s just say Mr Omollo’s genes are quite strong.

Anyway, this is the first time the Omollos are pulling a fast one on fans; but we also can’t overlook the fact that keeping their private life off social media is more safer for their children especially with mean comments coming from idle fans.

Khaligraph Jones mzungu son

Well, so far we understand rapper Khaligraph Jones has two sons; his first born son, Xolani with Cashy and now another one with Georgina.

Just a few weeks ago the fella was accused of neglecting his 2 year old son by not proving any support. This is after their son fell ill and since he had no medical cover; the young boy had to suffer due to his father’s alleged neglect.

But we also cannot judge as we know nothing about their coparenting agreement nor the issues forcing them (Khaligraph and Georgina) to get ugly on each other. Anyway below are a few photos of the new born son turning heads on social media.

Why Khaligraph Jones stands out as the biggest supporter of young talent in music

For the longest time, Khaligraph Jones  has been playing the big brother role to the younger artists. How?

Look at this way the self declared OG is one man that has believed in young talent all through his career. He is always the first to take up collaborations of artists that he believes in.

In other words, he plays the guardian angel role.

Back when  Willy Paul was still a gospel artist , Khaligraph jumped to the Bora Uhai  song and it was an instant hit. But of course you wouldn’t miss the holier than thou judges.

That aside he came in with Masauti’s  Kiboko remix we loved the music. Since then Masauti is a talent you wouldn’t want to miss on any show.

Masauti and Khaligraph

Futher more Khaligraph appears as the ego centered kind of celebrity considering his rap style. However how do you dismiss a man who just stand stands his ground and takes criticism and trashes hate?

That’s what stance looks like.

The fact that anything  the Og jumps to is good makes his the biggest  supported of young talent.Recently he did a rap verse in the song by Materpiece dubbed “Nikupee”.

OG’s Versatility

Khaligraph’s music is basically rap  mostly in English and he has had a fare share of insults from the “fans in denial”.  However, this is what got him the award of best hip hop artist in Nigeria, back in January 2020.

Also read: Khaligraph Jones opens up about his battle with depression!

Having been in the  industry, he is one of the artist that understand what the struggle looks like. Him opting to support fellow artists both in secular and gospel scene makes him stand out.

Khaligraph hawking his mixtape

If only many upcoming artists would get support from their seniors artists I believe their  would be tremeondous growth.

But this will only happen if young talents seek the help they need in making music instead of being one hit wonders.

Besides this industry especially in Kenya is the most unforgiving nobody cares about you if you don’t deliver. So even if the same the same Khaligraph calls us fans in denial, I  believe we know what we want in music.

Also don’t forget there are other artist that have been pushing young talents. These include VDJ Jonnes, Mejja , JuaCali among others.

How Khaligraph Jones completely pummeled Octopizzo in their beef

Khaligraph Jones dominated Octopizzo in the last half of their beef and he did it so definitively that he even went as far as to try to make peace with his former foe, acknowledging that the beef was his doing just to gain some clout.

Savage! Ethic ranks Octopizzo among top female hiphop artists in Kenya

Whatever the case may be and whomever you side with on the matter, the fact still remains that Octopizzo was blown out of the water by Khaligraph. Why you ask? Because at the height of his fame, he never got to the levels Khaligraph Jones is currently at.

khaligraph Jones
Kenya´s illest rapper, Khaligraph Jones

You see, when the beef started, Octopizzo was at critical mass, he was at the point where his ascendancy was just beginning. he came through with a slew of hits, even putting Vicmas Luodollar on the map with their collaboration but he got to a point where he couldn’t ascend any further.

Octopizzo should pull up his socks before it’s too late

Khaligraph Jones, on the other hand, has steadily been climbing to the pinnacle and even while he at the top of the totem pole at the moment he still seems to find new nooks and crannies to get himself into that make his star shine brighter.

Khaligraph Jones and Masauti defend artistes in 'Hao"

That is why when you look at the views of their music, when it comes to clout and fame across the border, Khaligraph Jones has it all. When it comes to the influence over the culture, especially in this space of influence over culture, Khaligraph is tops.

“I will rap about marijuana until it gets legalized!” Octopizzo declares

He has managed to get to a level where Octopizzo never did. And the thing is, they are both pretty similar. Both are from the same ethnic community, both are from similar, impoverished backgrounds and both have cultivated the personal of assholes.

khaligraph jones
Rapper, Khaligraph Jones

And make no mistake about it, this isn’t my way of saying that Octopizzo was never a superstar he was. To the point, he even got mzungu attention and got invited into their spaces and was made a Un Ambassador for something. But perhaps this is where he lost his edge. Inorder for Octopizzo, Namba Nanae’s Finest, to ascend into those spaces, he had to shed his uncultured behaviours and personas. that cost him with the average Kenyan music fan who themselves are uncultured in their tastes.

Khaligraph Jones addresses rumors linking him to using steroids to gain muscles

Khaligraph, on the other hand, came onto the scene with a fake accent. That was what everyone used to troll him but beyond that, he kept it uncultured. And when he explained the accent, Kenyans could understand why he had adopted it to begin with. To see whether it would open doors. And Kenyans could relate.

octopizzo
Kenyan hip-hop artist, Octopizzo

Also, while Octo shied away from doing heavy collaborations with fellow Kenyan acts, preferring instead to keep his music down to only having his voice and adlibs, Khaligraph Jones tactfully collaborated with people to the extent of having playful beefs with individuals.

“Chungeni sana ama niwafagilie nyinyi wote!” Khaligraph Jones warns Wasafi Records Mbosso and Lava Lava

And as a result, people gravitated more to Khaligraph. And that was how he won his beef. But whatever the case may be, can you imagine how heavy some collaborative work between the two would be?

Why no male Kenyan celebrity should complain about cyber bullying

Kenyan celebrities have added a new word to their lexicon and my word they are using it to no end and that word is cyberbullying. As such, many Kenyan female celebrities such as Nadia Mukami have cried about cyberbullying. And she is by no means the only one who has done so with Lillian Muli and Lynda Nyangweso too. Even Bahati and Khaligraph Jones have addressed the issue of cyberbullying and here is where I draw the line.

Celebrities Vs KOT: Cyber Bullying being a norm is sending many to depression

That is not to say that Kenyan celebrities arent indeed getting cyberbullied. Afterall a recent study was done on the international digital phenomenon and Kenyans were highlighted as being a particularly nasty part of the puzzle with the way Kenyans on Twitter delight in tearing down anyone who they feel has earned their ire.
We have seen Lynda Nyangweso get attacked for her weight for no reason other than the fact that someone felt her voice didn’t match her size. Such an incident is disposable and should be condemned as it rightfully was.

Nadia mukami a kenyan clebrity

Perhaps the case can be made that Kenyan celebrities merely bear the brunt of Kenyan culture which has bullying entrenched as a form of initiation as form ones (monos) often get hazed and bullied when they join high school.

Bully number One! KOT impressed after one Fridah exposes Mulamwah for online bullying and threatening her life

My focus today, however, isn’t the cultural reason for cyberbullying but to critique the manner in which male Kenyan celebrities belly ache about getting cyberbullied. Perhaps this is an old fashioned, nearly Old Testament approach to masculinity, but I have been raised to believe that we as men must be stoic.

Kenyan celebrity bahati

So it befuddled and boggles the mind to see men decry getting called on social media although they never fully thought through what being a celebrity is all about. This is by no means my telling rappers like Khaligraph Jones not to hit back at the haters because after all, one mustn’t dish out what they cannot take. And rappers such as Eminem and Kanye West have famously lashed out at haters and critics but with one major difference. They did not try to cast themselves in the light of victims. They did not try to cut the image of the defeated. They did indeed acknowledge their underdog status but they opted to fight on rather than bitch out.

Azziad Nasenya speaks up on claims of referring to Diamond Platnumz as ‘a woman eater!’ (Interview)

But Ozymandias, how can you be so sure about this fact? Well, because men are meant to be stoic. Men are meant to be the rocks of society. If a male Kenyan celebrity cannot deal with the unwanted attention that comes hand-in-hand with the love they receive, then the path is clear, quit. Or log off your computer and go outside to the real world. That is always the option they have. Kenyan celebrities need to stop bellyaching and start realizing that they could always simply switch off their comment section and limit access to their DMs.

Think about it. What stops Jimmy Gait from switching off the comments on his Youtube videos? What’s to stop Jimmy Gait from stopping people from commenting on his social media profiles? I really do not understand why he cries about such things. Yes, there are some horrible people in this world. But we all face the unfairness of life and when you can mute it, do so. I shouldn’t have to remind these men that they have elected to let this negativity remain in their lives as they refuse to handle the situation.
Khaligraph Jones is a fantastic example of what Kenyan male celebrities should do when faced with haters; put that angst into music instead of whining. Create music so good, even your haters have no choice but to clap for you.

Why Khaligraph Jones new song “Hao” is contrived

Khaligraph Jones, one of Kenya’s most prolific rappers and entertainers, released a song called, Hao which has been a major hit, and not just with his fanbase. Fellow celebrities have applauded him for standing up for them.

And the main reason Khaligraph’s song has had such an overwhelmingly positive reception among his peers is that a lot of celebrities feel victimized by cyberbullies. So they feel that he has championed their cause. but this outlook is not just contrived, it is fallacious.

In the music video, Khaligraph jones highlights different articles and story pieces broken by leading entertainment writers as examples of how we as a society break down our entertainers and celebrities. The problem with this argument is that it only holds water if the news pieces are false or figments of the writer’s imagination.
So tell us ndugu, were the stories false?

Khaligraph jones
Rapper, Khaligraph Jones

Case in point would be the much-publicized story about Esther Arunga. For those of you not old enough to understand the reference, she was once a high flying media personality. She hosted prime time news on KTN and was the nation’s darling. She came off as educated and intelligent and was well-spoken.
She, however, fell in love with a man who many believe led her astray called Quincy Timberlake. As her professional and personal life fell apart, the couple migrated their family to Australia where they made a new life for themselves. Afew years after this happened, word broke that the couple had lost a child. They are both currently incarcerated so you draw your own conclusions on that.

Why Bahati shutting down EMB Records is a blow to Kenyan gospel

When Khaligraph Jones highlighted the fact on his song, it was although he was blaming the writer of the piece for doing his job. The writer, one Uncle Chim Tuna, highlighted the fact that while The Timberlakes’ familial was in upheaval, her erstwhile mentor and pastor, Joseph Hellon had gone on to have a calm and steady familial life:

khaligraph jones new music video Hao blames journalists

And therein is the main bone of contention about this song. It seems to want us to exonerate celebrities of all their inequities simply because they are celebrities. What a shocker. A celebrity wants us to overlook the misdeeds of other celebrities.
Sure Khaligraph Jones has a point, some of the artists he has mentioned are victims of cyberbullying. Guys like Stivo Simple Boy have had it rough yet he has done nothing worth trolling. Others like Bahati, however, have earned the ire of their fans and pundits alike and are simply stewing in a soup of their own making.

Bahati responds to Khaligraph Jones diss!

And so it is hard to watch this video and not feel it is contrived to make celebrities out to look innocent. Some of them even while they are part of murder investigations and criminal case proceedings.

And also at the heart of this, the argument is a moot one because it calls back to memory the argument that corporate America had against the budding genre of Gangsta Rap back in the late 80s and early 90s. Ice Cube even put out a rebuttal song called Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It. The argument was always that Gangsta Rap caused a spike in the rate at which crimes were being committed. The same ways now, the media is responsible for destroying lives by reporting about the bullshit celebrities are doing.

Why a collaboration between Octopizzo and Khaligraph might be a big flop

It was just the other day when Khaligraph Jones called out on Octopizzo for a collabo in his new song “Yes Bana”.

In that song that he featured Sauti Sol’s Bien Baraza, the self declared OG asks Octo why they ain’t in talking terms.

He goes ahead and says,” Na mi sina beef na Ohanga (Spendii)
Ohanga hunitakii kwa nini? (Yes bana)
Mbona usifanye traki na mimi? (Yes bana)
Tutop hizi chart za mjini (Yes bana)
After that you will be happy amini (Yes bana)

Well, this is the thing these two chaps are incredible Kenyan rappers with two different styles of rap.

I mean we all know how Khali does his thing, fast-paced kind of rap, while Mr. Ohanga is much slower. But that is not the point.

Khaligraph

These lads have a diverse audience Khali does music that is more of the street than just any other artists.

Having created a basis on the African scene one can argue that the OG is actually the best right now. Especially after he declared himself the best rapper in Nigeria. The guts!!

Also read: Octopizzo Vs Khaligraph: Whose music approach is better?

On the other hand, Octopizzo has his style that cleary has that international market target feel. His music seems cannot be put off entirely ideally because he is a Kenyan artist.

Octopizzo

But again as they say home is best and I feel he should also try focus home kidogo.

Collaboration flop in the offing?

Now with all that perspective in one place, the duo can do good music, yes but it will not be well received by fans.

In fact, it will only elicit conversations among netizens then that’s it and we will all go back to hoping for better.

A collabo should be sweet and easy for fans to relate with. So for one, this will highly be a disappointment to fans especially if does not top charts as Khaligraph would hope for. However it’s a wait and see thing.

It is time for Kenyan music to get more respect in Africa

Kenyan music has for a long time been neglected in the African music table.  First Kenyan artistes are producing good music better than what their competitors are doing in Africa continent.

With the likes of Sauti Sol, Khaligraph Jones, Nyashinski and the Gengetone groups, Kenya is far much better. It is sad that Kenyan music is not respected on the continent.

Failed Event Organisers

It is time for Kenyan music to get more respect in Africa

To start with, even Kenyan event organisers have helped the world in trashing our own talents. I do not understand how a Kenyan born event organiser shamelessly goes to the neighbouring country to source for artistes to perform in Kenya. This is pure BS.

It is time for Kenyan music to get more respect in Africa

I know that most of these people will walk on into national TV interviews claiming how Kenyan music is underdeveloped. Do you wanna know why? You are the reason why there is less of music growth in Kenya. How on earth will you explain inviting Mbosso to come and perform in Kenya in a coastal cultural event? Does he even understand that culture? Are there no local artistes in that culture?

It is high time this nonsense stopped. Start promoting what is ours. How many times have you heard those Tanzanians invite Kenyan artistes in their mega-events? If there is any proof table it.

Mean African artistes who only think of their Growth

It is time for Kenyan music to get more respect in Africa

Recently, Diamond whose music is played in Kenya shamelessly organised a mega event and had no guts to invite even Akothee a close friend.

The Bongo star took his legs and fame all the way to Nigeria to please them whereas here they are saying let’s support East Africa.

I fail to understand who this East Africa is. To add on, these Tanzanian artistes are very mean and only want to succeed alone. If the Tetema had good intentions, it would not have hurt with Sauti Sol being part of the Wasafi Festival.

Failed media in Kenya who want fame globally but not at home

In addition, there are big media houses in Kenya who will go miles and miles to pay tickets for foreign artistes to fly in Kenya. Common dummies, how many local artistes would you have paid to grace your events? Who said imported content is better? Just know you are ones who have signed a death sentence for Kenyan Music.

The other day Khaligraph Jones was nominated for an award, I am sure none of the so-called event organisers have taken their time to vote.

It is time for Kenyan music to get more respect in Africa

Actually, 2019 should have served as an eye-opener to the majority of Kenyans and see that stand all alone in the game. They need to know that Kenya has good music than even Nigeria and Tanzania.

Also, imagine the rate at which Sailors Gang and Ethic Entertainment have received recognition abroad. Why don’t we do the same for other local artistes?

We will only rise if we market our music. Tanzania, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda have done it. Why not us? We are better than they are.

In conclusion, if you have stones to throw, then this is the right time to do because I will use them to build better grounds in the fight for KENYAN MUSIC.

Khaligraph Jones back with a real story on ‘Ruby”

Khaligraph Jones pays tribute to his ex-girlfriend Ruby in a very emotional song. The rapper who at first freelanced about the Ruby girl talked so much about her and later released a song in her honour.

In the song, Khaligraph Jones talks of how she committed suicide after learning that she had contracted HIV.  Also, the rapper in the song says he feels bad when he remembers her. Did I forget to tell you that she was Ruby Jezebel?

Now you know that this was before the rapper was dumped by the lass before she later committed suicide. This was long before he met his immediate ex-girlfriend Miss Cashy and later hooking up with his girlfriend Georgina Muteti with whom they are blessed with a son, Amali Jones Ouko.

Ruby is a real-life story of Khaligraph Jones ex-lover

He took to Instagram to talk of the traumatic experience with Ruby, something which he says he has never shared with anyone.

First, this is soo sad and no one deserves to go through hell even if shit has happened to them.

In addition, the music video titled Ruby, he narrates how he met her after high school while he was working as a bouncer.

A traumatic experience  And no, am not asking for your help But hii kitu iliniumiza Listen up.  He says that all he needs is for people to listen.

Artist Spotlight: Silverstone Barz, female rapper who’s flow has mesmerized Kenyans

There’s a new female rapper in town and she didn’t come to play. Her name is Silverstone Barz and what saddens me is that most people, including yours truly, came to know about her after she featured in Khaligraph’s Khali Cartel 3.

Just like her second name, this lass has some dope bars. If you listen to her rapping, you would even think she’s from majuu since her lyrics are only in English. No Sheng’, Swahili or any other language.

She refers to herself as the punchline queen and I have no qualms with that. In my opinion, her performance in Khali Cartel 3 was totally out of this world. The only other person who came close to her was Rekles. Fight me.

Interestingly, Silverstone Barz has been in the game for a minute. She released a lit freestyle titled Big (Young Ma) in but it barely got any attention until recently.

Some people are already referring to this lass who is also drop-dead gorgeous as Kenya’s Nicki Minaj and I could not agree more because they both spit fire.

It is only a matter of time before Silverstone Barz becomes a household name and we can’t thank Khaligraph enough for bringing her to the spotlight. These days, I wonder how many more talented rappers, female or male, are just out there waiting to be discovered.

Watch Big (Young Ma) below and tell us what you think.
