Mike Wachira joins Smooth FM!

When Mike Wachira announced that he was leaving Homeboyz Radio on Friday, November 13, his fans were in utter disbelief. Some even thought that he had been sacked.

In his goodbye message, Wachira, who’s known for his deep voice, thanked the station for helping him hone his skills for 13 years. He also expressed gratitude to his G Money as well as his co-hosts Lotan and Kerry Martin.

“Mike Wachira has left! Today Friday 13th Nov 2020 marks my last show on @homeboyzradio. 13 years ago HBR took a chance on me and trusted me with responsibility to carry the drive show. Along the way I hosted the show with @iamjeffmote and @kwambox and after 13 years I now pass the mantle to @mrkerrymartin and @iamlotan to carry on the legacy,” he posted on his Twitter page.

However, as it turns out, he will still be on radio and interestingly, he is still on radio and interestingly, he is still working for Radio Africa Group – which partly owns Homeboyz Radio.

Taking to Twitter, Wachira revealed that he will be joining Smooth FM where he will host the breakfast show with Cate Sidede, Cess Mutungi and Patrick Mwangola. As Ghafla, we wish him the very best.

 

 

Homeboyz radio presenter Mike Wachira calls it quits!

Mike Wachira who is popularly known for his Drive Show on Homeboyz radio presenter has confirmed his departure from the popular radio station. In a detailed post shared on his page, Mike Wachira went on to reveal that Friday, 13 November was his last day at the station; leaving his fans with many questions.

Having worked at the station for 13 years Mike thanked his bosses for the opportunity; not forgetting his colleagues who have kept him going the years. In his post, the radio presenter went on to write saying;

Grateful for the experience

Although most of his fans remain disappointed that they will not get to hear Mike and his team entertain them through the radio station; the fella is rumored to have been poached by Radio Africa where he will soon be working.

If the rumors are true then I guess nothing is lost as he now pursues the same dream; but in a different environment. In conclusion Mike went on to write;
