Several trees fell down at Serena Hotel in Nairobi causing loses worth millions of shillings.

The trees fell on Saturday morning at the five star hotel’s parking lot destroying several cars. No injuries were reported from the shocking incident.

Heavy rains

Heavy rains are being blamed for the disaster. Numerous video clips of floods wrecking havoc in Nairobi have been posted on social media as the Nairobi County government has continued to work on different ways to improve the poor drainage in the city.

Nairobi is in a big mess following Thursday morning heavy downpour. Commuters have been stuck in traffic for hours as the rain has rendered most roads impassable.

Kenya Meteorological Department warned city residents to brace for heavy rainfall from Monday. The forecast indicated Nairobi will receive heavy rain likely to cause flash floods.

Weatherman’s prediction came true on Thursday as heavy rains pounded the city wrecking havoc. Nairobians couldn’t make it to the CBD due to the rain.
