The final moments of my son: Nazizi breaks her silence

Addressing the rumors circulating about her son’s passing, Nazizi expressed frustration with bloggers spreading misinformation that has deeply affected her family. She recounted the tragic events of that day when she received a call notifying her of the accident involving her son while she was visiting her cousin, Jaffarai, a well-known musician in Tanzania.

The accident occurred unexpectedly, and her husband, devastated by the incident, could not have foreseen it.

Regarding the transportation of their son’s body, Nazizi explained that they opted to drive back to Kenya due to the lengthy process involved in flying the body. Three months later, the family is still grieving, with Nazizi struggling to come to terms with the loss, compounded by the death of her younger brother over 15 years ago.

Nazizi explains why she is stretching out her earlobes (Photo)

Nazizi has opened up to explain why she wants her earlobes to stretch out like of Maasai women; and women from the Mumbi who found beauty in expanding their lobes.

In a detailed post shared by Ms Nazizi, she started off by sharing a little history about her origin; and surprisingly, turns out that Nazizi is mixed. She opened up about this saying;

Nazizi Hirji's son
Nazizi Hirji’s son

Thought I’d share a little bit of my family history and origin of my name. My Father @firozhirji is half Indian and half Tanzanian. His father came from Kolkata and his mother from Mbozi which is in Mbeya , Southern Tanzania. He named me after his grandmother. Na is the title for the first born daughter followed by their mother’s name .

Meaning is Nazizi

According to Nazizi, her parents fortunately gave her a Swahili name when everybody else was busy giving their kids English names. For this reason, she remains attached to her roots and culture; something not many youths can brag about;

Nazizi

The literal meaning of my name is Na ( first born daughter of..) zizi ( root in kiswahili) . Hence I am the first born daughter of root. That’s why I’m super proud to be the ROOTS DAUGHTER. I’m so proud that my parents gave me an African name in those times when English names were the norm.

Reasons for stretching her earlobes

Explaining why she wants to have large earlobes, Nazizi shared a photo of her old grandmother; the lady she is said to have taken after and went on to say;

So many people have asked me why I’m Expanding my ears. My answer CULTURE. My grandmother and my greatgrandma Nazizi had theirs ears expanded traditionally.

And lastly;

Being mixed race I always struggled with identity and never felt like I fit in anywhere but I always sought to connect with all the cultures I come from. I will soon share the story on my double nose piercing. Swipe left to see the Original NAZIZI.

From her previous posts we understand that her dad, Firoze Hirji, has been at the ICU for almost a week now following an unnamed illness. Through her IG page, Nazizi narrated how tough things have been for her family saying;

On this day I was super thankfull that my mum was out of the hospital and was getting better. I’d spent a whole week with her talking and feeling blessed to have her around still. I went to the beach and reflected on our time together and how precious Life is ..Little did i know that just a few hrs after this pic I’d be thrown into onother whirlwind. It’s been 10 days since dad has been in hospital. I’ve spent alot of time with him too, I’m lucky I been on leave coz jah knows I wouldn’t be able to cope.

Juggling busy schedule

Being a mum and a daughter has been quite tough on Nazizi who went on to talk about this on the same detailed post. However this being part of life and despite having both parents in and out of hospital, Naz went on to add;

Nazizi shares photo of dad in ICU

The coming week will be another challenging one for I . Getting back to work when pops still in the hospital. Creating time to be with @tafari_firoz as his also back to school. Balancing all the responsibilities nuh easy sometimes. Thanks to everyone who has called, texted , sent me Dms of encouragement and the few who have shown up to visit. I appreciate all of you and I’m super overwhelmed to respond to everyone but I see you and I’m Thankful.

And in conclusion, the singer thanked fans and friends for the support they have been showing; and hopefully, her dad will be discharged soon.

How Wyre has maintained relevance to this day

Kenyan dancehall artist Kevin Waire, alias Wyre, is still a big deal in the country today, more than two decades after he wrote and recorded his first song but have you ever wondered how he has managed to stay relevant up to this very day?

Well, it’s pretty simple. First, he has always stayed true to himself. He has never bowed to pressure to venture into a genre that he’s not really feeling just to stay afloat. He has been churning out dancehall jams from the first day and that won’t change anytime soon.

He also doesn’t hurry to release new songs so as to remain relevant. The Nakupenda Pia hitmaker has a very long catalogue of hits that have kept him on people’s lips. Therefore, he takes all the time he needs with his projects on while performing his old jams.

Wyre
Wyre

Secondly, Wyre has been consistent since he made his debut in the music industry in the late 90s. In as much as he does not  release a new song after a month or two – like most local artists – he also does not go for so long without releasing new music.

He has also constantly expanded his fanbase by working with a number of local and international acts. Some of them are; Nazizi, Kidis, Prezzo, Khaligraph, JB Maina, Benjamin Kabaseke, Nonini, Vigeti, Alaine, Cecile and Morgan Heritage.

Lastly, Wyre has always been disciplined. To date, we’ve never heard a scandal about him neither does he engage in cheap publicity stunts, as is the case with most local artists, to market his music. He relies on the chema chajiuza philosophy and it always works for him.

Kenyan artists should learn a thing or two from him if they want to have careers spanning many years.

“I can’t believe I don’t have another one yet” Nazizi talks about baby number 2

Nazizi Harji who is popularly known for her love of reggae music and of course weight loss journey is back to making headlines.

Nazizi Hirji's son
Nazizi Hirji’s son

The 38 year old mother of one recently opened up about her personal life revealing unknown details to fans who have been loyal since day one.  Speaking to  Sunday Magazine, Nazizi finally answered a question many have been asking since time is not on her side.

The journalist interviewing the artist posed  the question below whereby he asked;

Nazizi opens up

Do you want another child someday?

Well just like any other woman Nazizi responded saying that she had always thought of having two children; but this did not happen since she separated with her Tanzanian husband of 12 years.

Anyway speaking about whether she will add another child or not miss Nazizi responded saying;

Naz

I can’t believe I don’t have another one yet. I have one child, Tafari, who is 9. My goal was two years and then another. But then I got divorced around the same time so it was another journey.

The singer went on to add that divorce is one of the hardest experiences she ever went through. According to her this felt like the end of the world for her.

Divorce feels like the end of the world because the African culture has made it such a taboo to be divorced.It was very hard but I accepted it. I am somebody who does not hold grudges. I don’t put hatred in my heart. It is too heavy and too much to carry pain and disappointment in your heart. It is better to forgive somebody and just let it be and have peace for life.

But since she still has a few more years before hitting menopause; then I guess the mother of one has a few more years to keep trying for baby number 2.

Harder Than Before! The sizzling-hot, new release by prolific First Lady Nazizi, alongside Levysill that’s set to rule the airwaves!

If you had written off one of Kenyan pioneer artists, Nazizi as ‘retired’, you need another think coming. It’s been a while since the self-proclaimed Kenyan First lady of Hip Hop graced the airwaves with a new release, hence the perception that she’d hung her mic. Nazizi is back, in a huge way, alongside one of Nairobi’s most prolific Ragga artists, Levysill.

Harder Than Before – Nazizi and Levysill, produced by The Arkangel Label.

Levysill
                                                             Levysill

Levysill’s most acclaimed release was Full Attention, featuring Ugandan Ragga sensation, Peter Miles.

On the other hand, Nazizi is a household name with an enviable cabinet of music awards. The first lady also boasts of a string of popular albums under her belt. She has been tagged as one on the most revolutionary Kenyan artist who’ve positively shaped the local music industry. Some of her most notable hits include: Let’s Get Down, Kenyan Boy Kenyan Girl, Bless Ma Room and Naleta Action.

Nazizi’s first release of 2020 – Harder Than Before – also doesn’t disappoint, and it’s bound to ride high on the charts and is already commanding a sizeable chunk of airplay on mainstream media. Her characteristic style is evident from the start – she’s created a reputation as a social activist out to empower and inspire ghetto youth with positive messages in her lyrics.

Levysill comes in as a gifted rapper, inspiring a rustic ghetto vibe that easily blends and complements Nazizi’s soft, laid back style. It’s a good match, and a great value to the overall mien of the track.

Listen, sample and give an opinion on Harder Than Before. Check it out!

“Nazizi is the only woman who hasn’t used her body for progression” 5 reasons why Nyakundi has decided to praise Nazizi

Cyprian Nyakundi has gone into raptures about Nazizi. The blogger says Nazizi is the perfect example of positive femininity in Kenya.

Cyprian Nyakundi believes most women in position of leadership in Kenya f*cked their way up. The blogger has repeatedly attacked women whom he thinks are bimbos.

Nazizi recently responded to Nyakundi’s warning to boy child. The blogger warned men against marrying women who are over 30 years.

Nazizi hasn’t used her body for progression

Nyakundi has spoken highly of Nazizi despite the rapper clapping back at him. The blogger highlighted four concrete reasons why Nazizi is the best example of positive femininity.

Cyprian Nyakundi affirms that Nazizi has never slept with anyone to achieve success. He also says the rapper fought Moi’s regime over artists’ freedom of expression.

“Nazizi Hirji is perhaps the ONLY example of woman whom I can think of, who hasn’t used her body and p***y for progression. In the 90’s when former President Moi had choked all avenues of artistic expression, Naz fought hard to make Kenyan music be what it is.

“And she didn’t turn into an activists like the old hags we see daily on NTV yapping about inclusivity and affirmative-action like Schaeffer Okore and Dr. Njoki Ngumi. She did her thing, and inspired us.
When the then Transport Minister John Michuki cracked down on the matatu industry asking them to have one color with the yellow line, it was Naz with her song and Wyre, who said that we shouldn’t do away with our culture. Matatu’s should be allowed to be vessels of artistic expression.

“And it was hit-song, after hit-song. She didn’t disappoint. Her generation owes her alot. She also sets a good example to women, not to rely on pussy-power for career progression. And you can always tell the women who are “lazy” are the ones who speak with a profound sense of entitlement, but cannot put in the work,” wrote Nyakundi in part.

Media coverage

Cyprian Nyakundi claims mainstream media favors some artists over others. He claims Wahu has never released a single album yet receives more coverage than Nazizi.

“For instance, Wahu Kagwi to date, has NEVER released an album. Walai bilai! Not one album. She just chomoa’s singles whenever she feels like. Lakini on the mainstream media, Wahu is the one who commands the lion’s share of media, dominating covers, etc. Does Naz get the same coverage? Bila.

“The feminine imperative is all about elevating mediocrity and suppressing talent. That’s why Kenya is shit from all angles, because feminism has permeated nearly every facet of society. Why does a singer who has no fucking album, command the lion’s share of media coverage in the country? Quite some disgusting shit!

“Then there’s another breed of women who wanted to use music so as to get noticed and get employment. They were never perfectionists. They had figured out that because of their gender, all they needed was some visibility and boom, they got jobs. Sheila Mwanyigha is one such example. She sung a few songs and (surprise surprise), landed a media job. Same as Sanaipei Tande. Sung a few mediocre songs here and there, and that is somehow the criteria for getting a media job.

“But Nazizi has never abused her gender, to transition into something else. She’s true to her trade. Art.
They are rare, but cases of positive femininity actually exist. Maybe if the feminist-dominated mainstream media, and feminised men like Linus Kaikai and Wachira Waruru could focus on such positive cases, instead of the entitled, abrasive feminazi’s they parade on TV like the dead-beat hoodrats who were on PressPass last Monday. Even if they were the last women on earth, I wouldn’t get a hard-on from those nauseating shit-heads!”

“Ata sisi we have age brackets lol. Focus on 40 and above” Nazizi replies to Cyprian Nyakundi’s onslaught on women

Boy child Vs girl child has been the debate on social media over the past week. Cyprian Nyakundi is on a mission to stop boy child from being exploited by materialistic ladies.

The blogger has launched a barrage of attacks on feminists whom he accuses of ruining the lives of young men. Nyakundi advises boy child to desist from marrying women who are over 30 years.

Ben 10s are also exploiting women

Nazizi has responded to Nyakundi’s onslaught on gild child. The rapper says men between 25 and 35 were also exploiting women in the name of love.

“So kuna Hawa waseee between 25 and 35 lol wanapenda kuishi bure kwa nyumba za mademe…wanunuliwe nguo sijui babe nifungulie biz . Kidogo bae sponsor my new project .U want to tell me hakuna mtu anaeza wa expose Hawa ma Ben 10??? P.s ata sisi we have age brackets lol. Focus on 40 and above lol,” wrote Nazizi.
