‘Odi Dance’ hitmaker Timeless Noel treats fans with new single ‘Dis Year’ (Video)

Talented gospel singer-cum-dancer James Owidi, popularly known as Timeless Noel and famed for hits such as; Odi Dance, Kanyaga Lami and Yela Kabisa, is back with a new song and we can’t get enough of it.

The track titled Dis Year, which is a corruption of the word this year, simply talks about how God is going to do great things in the lives of those who believe in him.

According to him, 2019 was all about asking God for the things that we really desire and 2020 is for Him to get back to his believers  and bless them abundantly.

The chorus for this jam goes like, “Uliomba sana last year jibu inakuja dis year, double double portion ni dis year, dis year, dis year, dis year, dis year ni ile year.”

I totally love this song. Perhaps you might have predicted that I’d say that seeing as I am a huge fan of Timeless Noel but I kid you not, Dis Year is really infectious.

Apart from the powerful message that it carries and the hope that it gives to believers, it sounds really pleasant to the ears and you just want to keep listening to it. To add to that, it is well arranged and the wordplay is on point.

The beat is also dope and believe you me, as I was writing this review I had to take a break to bust a few moves. Okay, I’m kidding but you get my point, don’t you? Props to Magic Mike.

‘Odi’ hitmaker Hype Ochi has dropped a hot new jam with Maxyn titled ‘Deni’ and it’s worth your time (Audio)

Hype Ochi, the gospel singer who treated Kenyans to the infectious Odi Dance alongside Jabidii and Timeless Noel is back with a new jam alongside talented songstress Maxyn Stephanie and we love it.

The song titled Deni talks about how Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross. The main message is that we have redemption through his blood.

There are several reasons why I love this song. The first one is very obvious and that is that Maxyn’s voice is so sweet, you just want to keep listening to her.

She did a great job on the hook. It goes like, “Yesu alilipa deni, alilipa deni, Yesu alilipa deni, niko set, niko fresh, me sina deni*3.”

Secondly, Hype Ochi also came through on this jam. He proves his creativity in this song thanks to his witty rhymes and smooth wordplay. You’ll also notice that his style in this jam is different form Odi Dance, KDF and the likes.

The third and last reason is that I think the audio producer – Again Go Sevil, did a good job – on the beat. However, if we are being completely honest, you’ll notice that the beat is similar with that of thousands of gospel songs.

Odi Dance creator Timeless Noel is back with another banger ‘Yela Kabisa’ and we love it (Video)

Timeless Noel, the chap who treated Kenyans to Odi Dance in 2017, is back with another sizzling hit that we can’t get enough of.

The song dubbed Yela Kabisa is also dance-inspired and involves movement of the forearm and legs. The way I see it, it has many elements of Odi Dance but I could also be wrong.

According to Timeless, Yela is a word that is used by odis (ordinary people) as a cry to attract someone’s attention. Kabisa is word that they use to express gratitude. I also found this interesting, it’s not just you.

In the context of this song, however, Yela Kabisa means that when the man above calls you, you should accept him because he has great plans for you.

Admittedly, this song might not be as big as Odi Dance but I feel that Timeless did not disappoint his fans. The words used are easy to master and the dance style is easy to learn. Kudos to him.

The beat, which was produced by the one and only Madrum Cisse, is also catchy. Chances are you’ll find yourself bumping your head to this song even before you learn how to dance along to it.

Side note: I can only hope that Timeless Noel is planning to treat us to another song that will be as big as Odi Dance. A national anthem of sorts.
